b850 not recommended? If dont want go for x870 B650 no pcie4 for gpu, b850 seems like manufacturer specs show got support.
*
Didnt know B850 already here. Try Gigabyte B850 Eagle Wifi6e at RM1049. Asrock got burning 9800X3D cases. Avoid Asrock for now.

Giga had backdoor bios previously. Asus has RMA issue. Go with MSI lah
*
Gigabyte fixed the backdoor issue like ages ago. No new discovery so far. If he is fine with RM1149 MSI B850 Gaming Plus Wifi7, sure.

Hi everyone, I would to get help on a getting a rig with installment plan (maybe getting all parts with one same vendor?)
[Budget] RM4,000 (CPU only, will get GPU next time, please include Window 11 OS pricing too)

[Purpose] Personal home theater, web browsing, home CCTV monitoring, video editing for corporate training archive

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Everything, I just need a CPU ready for gaming once I get next year's bonus

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Capcut, Dota 2, wanting to play BLack Myth Wukong smoothly in future

My friend was asking me to get the prebuilt from Dell, but I'm hesitant. That i5 14600 looks good on paper and the PSU seems underwhelming.

How far would you go when you buy a graphic card? Also, what is your monitor resolution?

I have a Dell 27 inch S2722QC

As for GPU, I have 4070 Super in mind, my current GPU is GeForce RTX 2060
*
4k monitor is signing up for luxury gaming..... Go for 4070 Ti Super 16GB at least. This one still not sufficient if you gonna go crazy with the game settings. Try

AMD Ryzen 7 7700 - 1329
MSI B650 Gaming Plus Wifi - 899
Acer Predator Pallas II 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 kit - 462
Kingston KC3000 1TB - 349
FSP Hydro GT Pro 850W - 579
Lian Li Lancool 216 case - 428

RM4046 total

Wow, thanks for the suggestion, if I want to go Intel based rather than AMD, got any suggestion? Swap Ryzen 7 7700 with i7-14700 and B650 with MSI B760 Gaming Plus WiFi, like this ok? or any better alternative?
*
Yes, you can. Remember, 16GB graphic card minimum.

hello all sifus~I'm back after see-ing B580 arrived, already see 3 shops carried them
so now new question arise, if to go for intel cpu, the best option is core ultra 245KF(heard ppl saying 13,14 gen intel cpu a lot instability issues), compare the price, is it the best still stick to 7500f?
*
No more stability issue. Just update to latest bios.

7500F setup more future proof. As long as you have decent motherboard, you can just swap cpu for upgrade.

Hi everyone, I would like to get my first PC rig, been always a laptop gaming person. Currently using a Predator Helio 300 2018, and with my current hardware, new games are starting to be impossible.

Honestly not too knowledgeable, but just want the best bang for the buck

[Budget] RM2.5k ~ 3.2k
[Purpose] Work, multiple tabs on browser, excel work, gaming as well

[Hardwares that will be re-use] 1TB M2 SATA SSD.

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Chrome, Arc Browser, Discord, Spiderman 2, Ghost of Tsushima, hoping to play MH Wilds

[Monitor resolution] 1920 x 1080 @ 240Hz, 1 monitor

I was browsing and asking around and someone offered me this build below for RM3320, not too sure if that a good deal or not so good deal.
Much appreciated if Sifu's can shed some light.

Amd ryzen 5 7500F
Asrock B650M Gaming wifi
16GB DDR5 5200mhz X2
Galax rtx3070ti *used
512gb lexar nvme ssd
750watt aigo 80+ white
Invasion C-8000 matx case
5 x 120mm argb fan
*
Trash SSD, power supply, RAM and casing. Even 3070 ti 8GB is borderline bad. Budget isn't great as well.

Hi, would appreciate your help to recommend a PC as my work PC plus some light gaming like Dota.
[B][Budget] RM2.5k - RM3k

[Purpose] Light gaming, browsing and heavy multitasking (excel sheets and financial database, bloomberg)

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Monitor (34" 1440p)

[Monitor resolution] 120hz 1440p, but planning to add another 27" secondary monitor (new monitor included in budget)

[Games & softwares that use frequently] CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, Excel
+++++

I've surveyed for this PC below that sort of meets my budget:

Ryzen 5 5600
Gigabyte A520M
Kingston Fury 3200 32GB
RTX3060ti 8GB
ADATA SSD M.2

Lian Li case
PSU

++++++

Would appreciate any suggestions on improving parts or some corners I can cut.
*
New monitor included in the budget is not going to fit anything good. So demanding with low budget.

Noted on that, well I think my budget still stays. Max I can stretch is 3.5k

But I don't need to play any games on high or ultra, medium for AAA games is also fine

Thank for the input and the guidance
*
Still a budget that is hard to get good parts. Try

AMD Ryzen 7500F - 579 (Viewnet, must bundle with motherboard)
MSI A620M-E - 399 (Viewnet)
Kingston HyperX Fury Beast 16GB DDR5-5200 X2 - 398 (Viewnet)
Asrock B580 12GB Challenger - 1379 (Shopee)
Kingston KC3000 1TB - 349 (Viewnet)
MSI A650BN - 203 (Shopee)
Montech Air 100 case - 189 (Shopee)

RM3496 total

QUOTE(n4r4ms1n @ Mar 8 2025, 01:30 AM)
Would RM2.5k without monitor be sufficient?
*
Stuffing a good enough graphic card will be challenging.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 - 399 (Viewnet)
Asrock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 - 449 (Viewnet)
Kingston HyperX Fury Beast 16GB DDR4-3200 X2 - 278 (Viewnet)
GTX 1650 - 699 (Shopee)
Kingston KC3000 1TB - 349 (Viewnet)
MSI A650BN - 203 (Shopee)
Montech Air 100 case - 189 (Shopee)

RM2566 total

Not to say high or ultra settings but playing on 2 monitors is quite heavy, like 2x 1080P is equal to playing at 1440P reso so you will need like
user posted image

Example this for MH:Wilds only gets 60 FPS while your monitor could go to 120FPS if you have better hardware specs.

(But on condition its with fake frames ON so take Tristan specs above and change out B580 for 4060 Ti 16GB. Will be a bit more expensive tho, and budget will not cover monitor)
*
4060 Ti 16GB? Thats another overpriced crap. You can get heavily discounted 7800 XT from almost every Lazada sale.

RNDA3 have much poorer RT perf and poorer Fake frame implementation than Nvidias that can now leverage transformer DLSS4
*
Are you blind? 23% more on raster performance is poor? Losing on RT too. DLSS4 does not guarantee more performance boost as well. I have 4080.

The only reason to get that card is to run slightly larger LLM which requires you to fit in entire model in memory. However the 128-bit memory is holding back quite a bit on the inference speed. wink.gif
*
Also, more fake frames increase chance of artifacts.

DLSS4 has made strides over DLSS3. It gives optimism that DLSS5 will be even better and still backward compatible with older RTXs
*
Still doesn't change the fact that 4060 Ti 16GB still extremely overpriced. Rather want 23% more real frames that doesn't give artifacts. Oh, 7800 XT at RM2099 from Shopee right now.

4060TI 16GB pricing is what it is. Yes with Nvidia tax but its what they market will swallow. And prices will soon drop once 5060Ti launches anyhow
*
Which is why you keep putting up hard numbers that shows it isn't worth the money. RTX 50 launches isn't great so far.

Thanks for that recommendation, will definitely look into that.

Also I was browsing around and one of my friend shared this with me. Though it's lacking another ram, but would the below be something to look at? The 6700xt may be slightly older GPU but for 1080/ 1440 should okay??

user posted image
*
If the GPU is new, yes... go for it. Weakness will be RAM and DRAMless SSD crap, maybe casing too. Ryzen hates lower RAM bandwidth. Be sure to get same RAM to pair it for dual channel. Also CL16 is a lie for DDR5-5600.

Also, Asrock B580 can be found for RM1310 today on Shopee.

Asrock B580 12GB Challenger at RM1310 from Shopee right now. You have more room for the RAM. Ryzen loves RAM speed.

Hello Sifus, previously I asked for a rig recommendation here and after looking around for parts a few of them were not available so I decided to switch some parts out. I want to ask for some feedback/advice on whether or not the current parts I have listed are suitable. My use case is mainly for gaming at 1440p, my budget is around 9-10k.

Ryzen 5 7500F RM579 (Viewnet) / Ryzen 7 7700X RM1399 (Viewnet)
Thermalright PA120 SE RM139
MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi RM899 (Viewnet) / Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX V2 RM1149 (Idealtech)
Kingston Fury DDR5-6000 64GB RM818 (Viewnet)
PowerColor Rx 7800XT Fighter RM2199 (Viewnet) / Asus Prime 9070XT RM3799 (Viewnet)
Kingston KC3000 2TB SSD RM549 (Viewnet)
Cooler Master MWE V2 850W ATX 3.1 80PLUS GOLD RM569 (Viewnet)
Fractal North XL RM899
*
Ryzen 7 as your CPU, Asrock RX 9070 XT for your GPU. Don't feed overpriced Asus. Maybe FSP Hydro GT Pro as your PSU? I don't trust MWE series.

MWE V2 750W review:
https://www.anandtech.com/show/21265/the-co...750w-psu-review

Yeah, 850W ATX 3.1 version is questionable.

If FSP no stock, go for Corsair RM series. Should not be much more expensive.

Noted, thanks. After checking back with them it seems they only have this in stock:

VGA ASUS PCIE ATI RX9070 16GB GDDR6 256BIT PRIME OC for RM3,299.00

Furthermore, it needs to be bundled with a 750W or above PSU.

I also checked czone, they have the Asrock 9070XT available but I would need to bundle with a full PC build. I redid my list again to accommodate and was wondering if it's ok or not, was also wondering if you could give suggestions for an SSD and case from czone. They don't seem to have the Kingston KC3000 and Fractal North XL in stock.

Ryzen 7 7700X RM1479
ID Cooling Frozn A720 RM259
MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi RM799
Kingston Fury Beast AMD Expo DDR5-5600 CL-36 64GB RM689
Asrock 9070XT Steel Legend RM3499
SSD?
Corsair RM850e RM589
Case?
*
Overpriced Asus RX 9070. Same price as MSRP RX 9070 XT. lol

If you can wait, wait. Kingston Renegade 1TB not a big topup. Maybe Lian Li Lancool III for the casing? Thermalright coolers have better price/performance as well.
