Yeap they aren’t. I should also mention it depends on the games as well. Some games Intel dominates but some, Ryzen can be on par with Intel. smile.gif
*
Compare to Bulldozer and Piledriver, they are shit. Intel completely dominates since Sandy bridge ix-2xxx. Kaby Lake short lived cause Ryzen released 2 months later. Gaming performance is slower but rules on cores. I still remember Ryzen 5 1600X beats i7-7700K when the game has heavy calculations.

Pretty impossible unless you go for secondhand parts. Else with that budget, you can only get i3 + 1050Ti. GTX 1060 6GB alone for a brand new one cost around RM1.1k already.

I guess it is impossible. Thanks for your feedback.

Btw you can refer his build as a guide. Still playable for PUBG and Overwatch.

You could consider these though which will be good enough for 1080p gaming with the said budget. It is slightly above RM2.5k but if you were to build the whole rig with E Tech PC, they might be able to give some discounts. wink.gif

CPU: INTEL CORE I3 8100 RM 459.00
MOBO: GIGABYTE H310M-S2 RM 220.00
RAM: GEIL SUPER LUCE LITE RGB 8GB DDR4 2666MHZ RM 349.00
GPU: GALAX GTX 1060 OC 6GB GDDR5 RM 1,139.00
HDD: WESTERN DIGITAL 3.5' 1TB 7200RPM RM 169.00
PSU: CORSAIR 450W VS SERIES VS450 RM 159.00
CASE: TECWARE CORE M-ATX RM 89.00

TOTAL: RM2,584 (E Tech prices)

Nice. Can I play Dark soul 3 and Monster Hunter: World on graphic setting 'high' with this rig?

Hello everyone! I'm looking to do some minor upgrades due to my PC suddenly slowing down a lot. This is despite doing everything in the checklist (Ccleaner, chdsk, minimizing startup programs etc). But I'll be on a tight budget. If possible I'd like to just replace my processor (i3-3220 @ 3.3 ghz) and get an SSD.

Budget: RM1000-1200

Purpose: Gaming, mainly Granblue fantasy on browser, Final Fantasy XIV and android games on Nox emulator.

Hardwares that will be re-used: Hoping to retain my mobo (MSI B75MA-P45), 16 GB DDR3 RAM and GPU (560 TI) at least. I know they're ancient, but my hands are kind of tied at the moment.

Location: Klang Valley

Thank you in advance. biggrin.gif

the usual culprit in ancient builds is the hard disk. see how it goes with a ssd first.
unless your cpu was overheated, else it shouldn't be the main issue for ur usage. i3-3220 is just slightly worse than last year's budget king : Pentium G4560.

install windows and frequently use softwares that u want slower load time (maybe your FF & emulator & browser)
u can easily scout a 240gb ssd below 200 nowadays. you can look at shopee/lazada (preferred seller/mall) as i noticed most of the PC shops still sell them above 200.
kingston a400, sandisk ssd plus, galax/pny and so on

if you want to play latest games, you can look for 1050/1050ti . most versions do not have 6-pin power connector in case your PSU doesn't have it.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Just want your thoughts on this:

Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor -
MSI - Z370 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard -
GALAX GTX1060 3GB | 6GB OC -
CORSAIR D4 PC2400 VENGEANCE LPX 8GB -
Segotep GP 500W -
Western Digital - Blue 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive -
SEAGATE BARRACUDA DESKTOP -
TECWARE EGDE TG ATX BLACK -

Prices should be similar to the one you recommended but are there any significant performance difference?

As for monitors, I am assuming the 144hz is a TN model? Which one would you recommend for the budget ? I read that TN monitors are better for gaming due to faster response speed.
Thanks notworthy.gif

For GPU, go for 6GB. As for mobo, B/H series will be sufficient unless you intend to upgrade to high speed rams & unlocked processor in the future. There will not be much performance difference other than that.

That is correct, TN monitors are usually preferred by FPS players due to fast response. There are 144hz IPS panels too but those cost a bomb. The one I recommended earlier is a budget one. It will be nice to play PUBG / OW on a 144hz monitor. smile.gif

try not to cut cost on your PSU
consider something better like: corsair CX/TX, super flower leadex silver/gold

With that budget, you could even fit in a GTX 1080 if you like. For PSU, look out for reliable brands like Corsair, EVGA, Super Flower, FSP for their 80+ gold rated ones. As for mobo, do you intend to OC? Else, B/H series mobo will be good enough. The performance difference between each mobo will not be significant. Just choose based on the features you need and the looks of it.

You may consider these:
CPU: INTEL CORE I7-8700 RM 1,213.00
COOLER: SCYTHE KOTETSU MARK II RM 159.00 (Optional)
MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX B360-H RM 529.00
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4 2666MHZ RM 739.00
GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1070 TI WINDFORCE 8GB GDDR5 RM 1,999.00
SSD: SAMSUNG 250GB 860 EVO 2.5' RM 349.00
HDD: WESTERN DIGITAL 3.5' 1TB 7200RPM RM 169.00
PSU: SUPER FLOWER 650W LEADEX II 80+ GOLD RM 415.00
CASE: NZXT H500 TG RM 339.00

TOTAL: RM5,911 (E Tech prices)

Hey, thanks for the suggestions, your second offer looks tempting biggrin.gif I compared it parts by parts with Idealtech(with little modifications) and found out that Idealtech costs roughly the same too.

But, i wanna know, when it comes to the above quotations of parts,
(1)Do i need to add in sound card? Sorry for asking stupid questions, because i don't need a masterpiece audio, all i need is an audio jack to enable me to listen via headphone and it'll all be good for me.

(2)Forgot to mention, as for monitors, what kinda monitors would you recommend me to get? Don't need to be so high-end, just decent ones with moderate price would do.

(3)Is the motherboard & PSU recommended compatible enough in case i wanna transition to 1080 or even 1080ti few years down the road once i got the new graphic cards?

thanks

1) No need to purchase a sound card. Just use the mobo's one and it's good enough.

2) What about this: ACER 23.8' R241Ybid FULL-HD RM 529.00.

3) Yes both of them are compatible and sufficient for up to 1080Ti. smile.gif

Hi,

due to my mobo dead, i planned to upgrade my rig with new mobo, processor and RAM(i guess my old processor and RAM need upgrade too due to obsolute mobo).

My old spec all in my signature. Mostly for full graphic setting gaming and game streaming as well. Hope can get an i7 6c/12t processor(or AMD on par), mobo and 16gb ram with budget 2.5k and lower.

Thanks

1. Pro looks better for me
2. You need AM4 mounting kit to fit AMD Ryzen 2600X.

I dont think so. You need to order directly from Coolermaster. You have to pay for shipping fees.
