5k budget can build Ryzen 5 7600 + 6700xt or should I just ask my friend stick with DDR4. He say wanna upgrade in the future so abit dilemma now.

been a while didn't follow graphic card tech. Need recommendation for graphic card. Build this rig 2 years back during MCO for my son's school pdpr, now looking for graphic card upgrade as he keen on playing games now.

current spec:

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X
MoBo: ASRock B550M Steel Legend
RAM: 32GB ddr4
monitor: AOC 24G2
PSU: HX1000W (my very old PSU)
graphic card: R5870-PM2D1G (my very old grahic card)

but, don't know local distro follow or not..

because of AM5. kehkehkeh. it will be easier if it is LGA1700 with ddr4.

7600x, aorus elite ax. phantom spirit 120se. nzxt h5 flow. might re-use 3070. looking for ram that can fit the cpu cooler..

OS: Windows 11
Proc: Ryzen 2600
Mobo: MSI B550 Gaming Plus (Previously MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon)
GPU: Power Colour red devil 5700xt
Memory: 32 GB Ram (2 x 16gb 3200mhz; brand patriot)
Corsair RM850 as PSU

I am thinking of slowly upgrading my processor and then my GPU. I am mostly use for gaming at 1080p, and been slowly venturing into racing sim, with a little rpg and rts.

For Processor, I have been looking at the raved 5800x3d, or is there any suitable alternative ? I also read that 5800x3d needed to be underclock for more efficiency, is that true ?

As for GPU, there's a rumour that nvidia will refresh their current RTX into super line next year, while AMD will only reveal new stuff on 2025. will my Ryzen 2600 bottleneck the current and future GPU ? Or any new and current GPU will do ?

Trying to salvage as much part as posible as it's still pretty good for my use case.

Guys. Can recommend me a decent build to play modern games at high settings. Budget cap is 2.5k-3k. Dont need monitor for now as ill be using my 42in tv as monitor

Yeah AAA games is what I meant by modern games. Cant recall the correct wording. Been out of loop of pc gaming for so long. So if the new budget now is 5k whats the spec looks like

yup, did some research too based on the webpage, was contemplating whether to get just GTX1650 or RTX3060/4060. Since friend only using to stream event/conferences for his workplace in FHD, maybe GTX1650 is suffice. Thank you for the extra references 😬
