Hi, would like to have hardware suggestions on building my first gaming pc

[B][Budget]: RM6,000

[Purpose]: Primarily gaming, watching movie/video during free time

[Games & softwares that use frequently]: next gen games

[Personal preferences]: want to have a water cooling system included

[Location]: KL

Thanks!
*
Any particular reason going WC? Since its ur first time build better stick to air cooling and gain experience. Altho AIO is as easy to install as any other PC part but for ur budget the system ur getting likely wont need it plus hassle when the pump eventually dies.

For the system being reco here, a PA120/ PS120/ Fuma 3/ SE207XT is more than enuff. If want some cooling headroom, can up to FC140/ FS140.

I see, I guess the main reason will be noise reduction. Will consider going for AC after seeing few recommendations for it and since for my budget if I go for WC it might mean I'll have to cut back of the performance parts, but in the end I still value performance > noise reduction.

Thanks for all the recommendations~ biggrin.gif
*
Actually if want cut down on noise, WC is the opposite sweat.gif
For WC ur gonna be running 2/3 fans constantly at high speeds to able push air thru the rad. So ur gonna hear it more compared to an aircooler.

low end aio pump sound louder than japan AV.. Hahaha

In ur opinion whats considered low end aio? I am thinking like those from ID Cooling, Jonsbo, Deepcool stuff. And from Thermalright, Coolermaster up, is start of midrange. But whats ur idea where is the cutoff from low end to midrange?

Current Rig :

Rzyen 2600
Kinstong HyperX Predator DDR4 16GB
Gigabyte Aorus Pro B450
Adata SX8200 Pro 512Gb
Gigabyte 970
Corsair HX850 - blue sticker one.
ASUS 2k 144hz monitor

Now i think wanna change the cpu and motherboard, use back the ram. no more gaming. can use the iGPU if gpu is breakdown, budget 1500-2000.

PSU already more than 11 years, still can re-use ?
*
If not gaming can save money and do CPU upgrade only. Keep the mobo and get 5800G. Its 8 big cores for usage longevity and has an igpu.

Yeah time to change the PSU too even if havent fail. Can keep that as spare for emergencies.

thanks the advise , bought 5700x RM800, installed and underclock it and run perfectly fine.
I wonder what brand of PSU you recommend ?
*
Thats not bad a CPU and really good budget upgrade for ur existing system. Just remember that it has no igpu yea (cuz you mention about it).

As for PSU, depends on which will wattage will suit ur GPU

Would it be worth to upgrade anything for my current rig?
I play games regularly (Not AAA games) and keep quite a few number of tabs opened for work sometimes.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
GPU: ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB GDDR6X
Mobo: MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI
Ram: 32GB G.SKILL Trident Z NEO 3600MHz (4x8GB)
CPU Cooler: MSI MAG CORELIQUID 360R
PSU: Cougar GEX 750w 80+ Gold
*
Start with CPU to 5800X3D, get the best since it a deadend platform after all.
Then if ur games starting to lag, the GPU towards 4080

Change that Dramless CS1031 for Transcend MTE220S. And that PSU is likely a dumpster fire, change that for a more reputable brand maker ie FSP HV Pro 650W 85+ Bronze or if got a lil bit more money; MSI MAG A650BN

Hi, would like to have hardware suggestions for Gaming at 1440p if possible
[B][Budget] RM5000 With monitor if possible

[Purpose] Gaming

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Sata SSD 1GB

[Monitor resolution] 1440p

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Blizzard games, MoBA

[Personal preferences] None

[Location] KL

Thanks in Advance.
*
Rm 5k for 1440 gaming would be tough as you will need a 4070Ti/RX7800XT class GPU for starters.

Could you actually get one for Rm 5k? Sure of course as the link below
https://idealtech.com.my/product/rx7800xt-packagepc/

But that is a good GPU surrounded by other poor & cheapo hardware choices (6core CPU, lousy VRM gigashit baseline mobo, slow DDR5 sticks, cheapo SSD, cheapo PSU that comes with the case).

For 1440 gaming with some room for future upgrades, I suggest up the budget to RM 7k for a system similar to this
https://idealtech.com.my/product/rtx4070ti-gamingpc/

Not as crappy with better CPU, a mobo that can handle a i7 14700 upgrade later. Everything else still crappy tho so wait for the sifus here spec you a decent 1440 gaming PC.

For reference, RM 5k will only get a decent 1080 medium setting PC these days.

Blizzard and moba isn't demanding games. You can get away with RX 6600 too. Diablo IV is the most demanding of them all.

*
Games are getting more demanding by the launch (have you seen reviews of City Skylines 2?) so your shouldnt be speccing to just play adequately for today but have some to still play adequately in 1-2 years from now.

Did you even bother reading what he wants? Oh wait, I don't see Skylines.

And yes, I know its crappy budget wanting 1440p.
Very low budget for 1440p. Should be fine for Blizzard and MoBA games though.

Core i5-12400F - 655
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE - 139
MSI B760M-A Pro Wifi - 665
Kingston HyperX 16GB DDR4-3200 kit - 198
Palit RTX 3060 12GB Dual V2 - 1268
Adata XPG Core Reactor 650W - 423
Corsair 4000D Airflow case - 315
Dell G3223D 32" - 1399 (Dell DFO)

RM5062 total
*
That monitor ady eaten more than a quarter of the budget, no wonder specs so low sweat.gif

what W psu and brand do you guys recommend for it. i currently use 750W corsair
*
1200W if ur just sticking to that setup and not upgrading to a bigger power hog in future. But if you do see a 14900KS plus 5090/6090 down the road, better to go 1400/1500W with a little more headroom.

what's the current price range for a mid-high end gaming pc ?

I'm currently still using a self built PC from 2014 ...

i5 4460
970GTX
16GB RAM
500GB SSD + 2TB HDD

replaced the PSU a few years ago and think it might be time to pass this PC to my kids.

currently playing Microsoft Flight Simulator and Counter Strike 2. Honestly surprised at how smoothly everything still runs.
*
IMHO
Mid would prolly be in the Rm5-7k+ range, with i5 Ksku or i7 nonK, RTX 4060Ti to 4070Ti, or see AMD equivalents for both

High is around Rm 8-10k, with i7 or i9 Ksku, RTX 4080 to 4090, or see AMD equivalents for both

was asking what I should place my budget haha but not more than RM10k including monitor + keyboard/mouse
16GB RAM still the norm ? if 4070 = 970 of it's era then I might stick to that. As long as it can play the latest games in high (not ultra high)
*
16GB RAM was norm with DDR4, with DDR5 a good start is 32GB 6000MHZ.

If you been following, RTX 4000 series is a money grab (except 4090). 4070 is supposedly the level where successor to 3060Ti (4060Ti) should be sitting but its not. A modern day equivalent to ur 970 is actually 4070Ti.

Living at kajang.

Thanks to you guys, the recommendations are pretty helpful.

Been thinking on the processor though, can afford to buy cheaper option, or not worth it?
*
The PC for gaming? Not worth skimping. 6 fast Pcores is only decent playability these days and for next couple of years will drop to minimum required.

You can also try this as well.
https://shopee.com.my/AISURIX-RX580-8GB-RGB...46-40edc45e47be

I'm not sure how reliable is it due to the price though.
*
These are basically refurb or at best remanufactured ex mining cards. If work uptime is important should go for brand new "newer" GPU but 3000 series are getting lesser...

Need suggestion. Currently my PC is Ryzen 2600 with RTX2070 Super. Games i play vary from Dota2 to Open world game like GTAV, Farcry series, Ass Creed, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Hogsworth, Scorn and some Fallout 76. Planning to get Tekken 8 and GTA 6 and Dying light 2.
I wonder i should upgrade the CPU first to 5000x3d or 5900x or get RTX4070.
As for monitor, I do have Viewsonic 27" 1440p 144hz monitor which i buy last december and left in the box neaer my bedroom wall after bring it from the shop till today since i use my old LG 42" 1080p TV 60hz. Lulz.
*
Tough question as you need to upgrade both. However, while you can still get Gen4 GPUs, the 5800X3D is an EOL platform so it will be phased out sooner than later. Better to get the CPU first then later change the GPU

can i get a recce for my secondary rig, without the ssd.

purpose is for chrome (50 tabs or more), edge, youtube, excel, google play games beta, hdmi out to full hd 46 inch tv screen at times, or full hd monitor reso.

what i noticed is that certain product has been consistent recommended such as

MSI A650BN - 204
Montech Air 100 - 159
Kingston HyperX 32GB DDR4-3200 kit - 344

thanks so much

budget : 1 - 2k possible?
*
That much going on, you might need to bump up the RAM to 64GB. If not going with XMP (being a work pc), you can a Intel based 4x RAM slots mobo and get 4x 16GB sticks running at JEDEC 2400MHZ with no compatibility issues. If going this path dont go AM4 as i heard some have stability issues with 4x RAM even at JEDEC speeds.

Try
i5 12400 / 13400 (RPL has better memory IMC)
Kingston HyperX 16GB DDR4 x4
MSI B660M-A wifi
No need GPU (use the IGPU output at mobo)
The rest as above
