Either AMD Ryzen or more expensive Coffee Lake. Adding SSD to low budget makes your spec lower. How about these?

Core i5-8400 - 778
MSI Z370 Gaming Plus - 599
Corsair 8GB DDR4-2400 X1 - 400
Zotac GTX 1050 Ti 4GB DDR5 Mini - 719
Kingston UV400 120GB - 255
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 200
Super Flower Leadex Silver 550W - 359
Tecware Edge case - 199

RM3509 total (C-Zone prices)
CPU, mobo and RAM already more than your budget. Small form factor is even more expensive. Hunt for 2nd hand at garage sales.
*
If Ryzen, what is your suggestion of mobo and procs? Also, is it true that there is a limited choice of mobo if I choose Coffee Lake (8400) Should I remove SSD and get at least GTX 1060 6Gb instead?

How about these?

AMD Ryzen 5 1400 (go for 1600 if you can fork out RM200 more) - 819
Gigabyte AB350N Gaming Wifi - 529
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 - 395
Zotac GTX 1050 Ti 4GB DDR5 Mini - 719
Corsair VS 450W - 184
Silverstone SG13B (from lelong and lazada) or Fractal Design Node 304 case - 239/369

RM2885/3015 total (C-Zone prices)
*
Thanks for your help. I managed to purchase the rig yesterday but due to some availability issue. I end up purchasing the following.

AMD Ryzen 5 1400 (go for 1600 if you can fork out RM200 more) - 819 ( Going for Ryzen 3 as 4 core 8 thread is sufficient for my needs )
Gigabyte AB350N Gaming Wifi - 529 ( Change to MSI Bazooka due to no availability for MITX casing )
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 - 395 ( Getting AMD Ryzen RAM dual channel 4GB x2 instead, it still up gradable as motherboard has 4 slots of RAM. )
Zotac GTX 1050 Ti 4GB DDR5 Mini - 719 ( Getting Zotac 1050 Ti with dual fan + AMP version with just RM50 topped up ).
Corsair VS 450W - 184 ( This is the worst purchase so far... Got Corsair 650W Gold instead. Will swap with my other rig which have 1070 graphic that only have Corsair 500W Silver )
Silverstone SG13B (from lelong and lazada) or Fractal Design Node 304 case - 239/369. ( Not available, bought the Cooler Master 3.1 casing instead. Nice case but limited putting my 5 HDD... only managed to slot in 3.... )

If gaming only, Intel wins. Ryzen is better for gaming and streaming.

For Ryzen, switch to these

GTX 1060 6GB will need to cut the CPU to Ryzen 5 1400 and SSD.

[Budget]: RM5k-6k

[Purpose]: work, media, gaming a bit

[Hardwares that will be re-use]: none

[Monitor resolution]: not sure

[Games & softwares that use frequently]: photoshop, dota2

Hey guys, need some help with some recommendations. My current gaming PC is running old but I can definitely reuse the SSD (Samsung EVO Pro) and my current graphics card (Nvidia 1070 GTX). So with my budget below, what combo of a processor, motherboard and RAM should I get?

[Budget]: RM2k-2.5k

[Purpose]: Gaming, Video Editing, Photo Editing

[Hardwares that will be re-use]: Case, SSD, Casing, PSU, GPU

[Games & softwares that use frequently]: PUBG, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro

[Personal preferences]: None, best bang for buck

[Location]: Selangor

Good to have something which can last long as my current Core i7 which is the 3rd generation CPU can still help me do most tasks today smoothly. Averaging around 70-80 FPS on PUBG now.

Yes, check motherboard memory compatibility (QVL) before buying just to make sure. You can find it at manufacturer's website.

Hi i wanna built my new pc for mainly cs go and pubg gaming, plus using for wathcing some movie but mainly for game. My pc will be i5 8400 with gigabyte aorus 1060gtx . But now i wonder what monitor should i purchase. I was thinking of getting a 32 inch monitor but many of comment say it would be too huge for fps gaming. Any good suggestion for 27 inch monitor? 144hz monitor with or without gsync.( probably prefer no gsync due to high price). Anyone have one 27 inch or 32 inch monitor and playing cs go? Would it be noticeable tearing in game? Hopefully can get some brand and suggestion to purchase

Never heard of 6400K. If that is 6400 then your CPU clock speed is slow. If you can find second hand 6700 or 7700 at RM950 or less, buy it. Don't forget it update BIOS.

Hello! First time building a PC (my friends convinced me to go the PC route instead of the laptop route when I told them my budget) and I tried to find parts myself but I honestly don't know where to start despite reading all those articles @ A @
Will either build it mid or late this year but I would like to know what parts I should go for so I can keep an eye or increase my budget if necessary (RM500 max). I've checked out some builds and prices but idk if it's maybe a bit overkill for my use. (><) I'm really really hoping that the price of RAM will go down a bit in the near future... orz

[Budget] RM5000
If possible, RM4500 without Windows and Microsoft Office

[Purpose] I think drawing, word editing and casual gaming?

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Mouse, keyboard and monitor

[Monitor resolution] 1080p... I think. I don't remember.

[Games & softwares that use frequently] FFXIV, Photoshop, SAI, Clip Studio Paint, Microsoft Office (LOL)

[Personal preferences]
- mATX
- Not gonna overclock (idek what that is and how to do it).
- My laptop now has 8GB RAM so I would like for that to be the minimum.
- If possible, I'd like to have 2 to 3TB HDD too so that I don't have to think about space in the future.
- Don't care about those flashy LEDs (no flashy lights is ideal but I think most parts are flashy these days?)
- Hoping that the build would last for maybe 2-3 years before the next major upgrade or something malfunctions (like my laptop's screen /SOBS)

Sorry if I sound a bit too picky! I really want a simple-looking machine with no lag when I raid in FFXIV. :'DD
