How about these?

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 - 1599
Asus Prime B350M-A - 445
Corsair 8GB DDR4-2133 X1 - 260
Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB DDR5 G1 Gaming - 1799 (from Garage Sales)

RM4103 total

I suggest selling existing and get this for less bottlenecking. AMD Ryzen bottlenecks GTX 1070 for some reason.

Core i7-7700K - 1526
Coolermaster Hyper 212X - 189
Gigabyte Z270X Gaming K5 - 899

Thanks for your suggestion!

Another question, i heard ryzen is good for multi tasking & video rendering, correct? So if i'm purely on gaming needs, should i just settle for intel setup in your opinion?

Tq~

Yes, Ryzen is very good. Sadly, Nvidia driver isn't fully optimized for Ryzen.

Even future games may take advantage of Ryzen. Hopefully AMD gets the developers to optimize.

Get the cheapest. Minimum performance is there.

If you are going i7-7700K build, make sure you get a good motherboard with at least 8-phase VRM that comes with heatsink. It is better for overclocking. Gigabyte Z270X Gaming K5 is among the cheapest.

Since no gaming involved. Go for Ryzen 7 1700. You can cut down the graphic card to GTX 1050 Ti or 1060.

For power supply, get better quality PSU like Super Flower Leadex Gold, Seasonic, Corsair and EVGA Supernova.

Not really. 1070 consumes less power.

Hi . Please help me to build my first ever desktop biggrin.gif
This is the laptop Im using now. It's been 4-5 years:

MSI GS70 20D Stealth-097MY 17.3" Gaming Laptop
- Intel® Core™ i7-4700HQ-2.4GHz
- 8GB DDR3 RAM
- 1TB SATA HDD/ NO SSD
- Nvidia GeForce GTX765M

My new gaming rig requirement:
Budget: Around RM6k ( including monitor / excluding headset, speaker, keyboard and mouse.)

Purpose : My current laptop heat up to 85-95c while playing Overwatch even in low setting. Looking for a desktop that able to play Overwatch in at least high setting with minimum 80fps and minimum heat generation while streaming. I will be using this desktop in non air-con room, so I expect heavy emphasis on cooling mechanism.

Hardwares that will be re-use: none lol.

Monitor resolution: 1080p. not going to 4k.

Games & Softwares that use frequently: Overwatch, League of Legends. Once in a blue moon: Dragon age series.

Personal Preferences: Can include Fractal Design Define R5 ? Of course you can switch out to other case model if it has better cooling and air flow properties.

Thanks senpais :DDDD
