I know this question might have been asked countless times.
But does the 1.8 hold up to some hilly uphill drives?
The only 1.8 I have driven is Toyota Altis which provides adequate power.
Just want to know how the Honda 1.8 measure up. I don't really trust paper specs.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hello Guys...

Anyone installed aftermarket vehicle safety bar on your civicx? Your review of it? Does it provide a major stability improvement? Recommended? Brand recommendation?

hahahahaha.
I just want to know is power is "adequate"
If anyone can understand what i mean.
I dun like uphill like the engine working too hard... leisurely ok. no need to have rush of power or something like that.

Very subjective topic. What is adequate to me, might be inadequate to you. But so far, never heard of people saying the 1.8 is underpowered. The 1.8 engine has been used in Civics and HRVs for a long time. The 1.5T engine is a different breed though...

True also...
Problem is no place got 1.8 for test drive.
All test drive unit is 1.5T... I am not keen on Turbo...
If there is a 2.0... I would jump on it...

You can try test driving the BRV or HRV to have a general feel of it. They use the same engine and transmission, just that it may not be exact as Honda have different tuning for different cars despite using the same hardware.

If you want a car that can "leisurely" go uphill, you need bigger displacement engine, try the new optima turbo then.

Guys
Any solution to recommend for use which can easily remove the birds--t stain...
I got 2 spots orange yellowish which I used some car wash liquid but still have mark there...
Saw a star bite bird stain remover from 11street.my but costs 141. Any better way?
*
Hopefully it hasn't etched into the clearcoat. If it has, only way to remove it is to cut the clear coat with cleaner wax/cutting compounds and wax over it again. My opinion is no need to buy specialized BS remover products. Any good cleaner wax should do. If it has etched in badly, you made need even more abrasive products to cut (e.g. Meguiars ScratchX product).

Keep a bottle of Quik Detailer in the trunk with a microfibre towel. As soon as you see BS on the car, spray and wipe off asap. Saves you headache in the long run smile.gif

Driver side door, or the A pillar? Just go to the SC and they'll fix it.

The 1.5T is much nicer to drive. Gives the car a more European feel with the low end boosted torque. The 1.5T pushes out similar peak torque to a 2.2 ltr N/A and delivers it much earlier vs. a typical 2.2 N/A throughout the rev range. No winding up of the revs needed like an NA to get the peak torque.

You can easily light up the inner front tyre taking off from lights making a turn when you floor it and hear the tyres squealing away through the turn. Not easily done with say an N/A 2.0 Mazda 3 wink.gif

Don't have this issue - or I never noticed this issue... but I know the leather seat clips is very fragile... can come out very easily. Maybe your issue is this?

Climbed genting with 1.8, overtaken a lot of cars. Maintain my rev at 3k to 3.5k rpm brows.gif brows.gif

Fly down to KL laugh.gif but seriously, if you want the Civic and want power, 1.5T is the way to go. It's more fuel efficient than the 1.8 if you don't have a lead foot.
