Seriously I don't get it why my neighbour's cats like to sleep on my car. Caught few times in the act. Always left traces of their paw stain & fur on the car

The car coating comes with fishy smell is it?
*
Cats like to sleep on clean surfaces. Your car must be always shiny and clean. If it's dusty and dirty the cat won't be interested. Happens to all of us clean car kaki fanatics.

Hi all ,

Just wanna get opinions on couple of things :

1. Is Ceramic coating really protects the paint from scratches , chips etc ?

1.1 If yes , how much is it ?

2. Anyone tinted Huper Optik & can pm me best price and good workmanship ?

3. Why do ppl tint the headlamps and how much it is ?

Thanks 🍺
*
SiO2 coatings help prevent scratches due to their hardness. But still no match vs. stone chips.
Price can range from RM600 from car wash shops using generic coatings to RM2-7k for big brands like Gtechniq, CeramicPro and Gyeon where these outlets give multi year warranties/recoating.

Huper Optik Ceramic range is usually just over Rm2k from authorized Huper Optik dealers. Mine was done at the Honda dealer who called in installers from SAG Auto Accessories (http://sag-accessories.com.my/en/). Good workmanship and after sales service.

Headlamps PPF is sometimes offered FOC with coating packages. CeramicPro was offering their MagnusPro PPF FOC for headlamps for their silver and gold packages. Usually it will cost around RM600 if I am not mistaken.

Definitely this one:

It give it a nice matte finish new car leather look instead of many other leather products that typically leave seats looking oily and shiny *yuck!*.

I was wondering if I should follow some of the detailing sifu's here who said to ask the SA to not wax/polish the car before delivery (do all cars get waxed and polished before delivery?).

Thinking maybe I should send to a shop after collecting the car for proper wax & polish. Any recommendations or suggestions?
*
If you are going to send your car to get coating done, then skip the SA wax/polish job, as part of the coating requires the surface to be prepped (i.e. clearcoat has to be cut again).

Some new cars are really new straight from the factory, some sent to large covered/basement car park stock yards, some have sat in the open lots for weeks before delivery exposed to rain, bird shit etc. So to wax/polish before delivery really depends where your car has been and what you are going to do to the paint once you take delivery.

Ideally, if you are going to maintain your car well, try not to get your paint clearcoat cut too many times. If can avoid this, then avoid this as once clear coat gets cut, it never grows back!.

the modulo, duck lip and si spoiler very geli....
i feel rs the best. imho
*
The ori RS spoiler looks great! I think the USDM lip spoiler is subtle and nice as well.

Modulo spoiler looks best with the full modulo kit IMHO. The rear bumper flares out at the bottom with the Modulo kit giving a better stance look from the rear.

It's 16.5psi of boost from the stock 1.5T. More boost vs. a BMW 320/520i smile.gif

hey guys, i know this is very subjective, but i not sure which colour to choose. white or grey? hahahaha
maybe some pics could help
*
Both are nice, but white is easier to take care vs. the grey. Main reason, is dust on white is not as obvious as dust on dark colored cars. Also, MSM looks fantastic only when it reflects light in all it's glory. In the shade or under dispersed light, it can look a bit dull.

OPW makes the car look bigger and bulkier, and I think the Civic esp from rear looks better in darker shades. From the front view, white with the black RS grill totally rocks!

GREY ....

That's the color I chose at the end as well after thinking long and hard about the choice biggrin.gif . Modern Steel Metallic is also the signature color for the Civic when the car launched in 2015 in the US, and this Civic was designed by the Americans.

You can reach out to the folks at Detailien for Opticoat. I believe they do door to door service also for the coating. Full day detailing and coating job at your house.

I got that same package from Ceramic Pro for my ride. The HO tint performance is pretty good. Heat rejection is good for a JPJ compliant tint. Being a ceramic tint, I have no issues whatsoever with GPS, gate remote control, etc. Smart Tag also works fine. Only issue I have with the tint is heat absorption but this issue will be there regardless of tint make and model. Some handle it better than others. If you leave the car under the sun for about an hour or so, the tint picks up quite a bit of heat and it takes a while to cool back down. This is where the remote engine start comes in handy  smile.gif . Use it a couple of minutes before entering the car and the heat is not too bad at all.
*
Did you get Ceramic70/C70 for the FWS?

contemplating to purchase the civic, thought of booking one in april . after reading all the  problems  rclxub.gif
if complicated issues is quite considerable , but rubber issues, water inside light , improper paint job. doh.gif
btw malaysia civic is local assembled right?
*
If you look at the list of problems/issues they are related to poor assembly and CKD parts. For mine, the alignment of panels are also not perfect unlike a CBU car. I've learnt to accept it. Other CKD makes in the range will have their share of similar issues. Even premium makes like BMW have QC issues on their CKD cars, but it has improved over the years especially since they introduced the concept of SKD (semi knocked down).

Yeah. C70 for the FWS, C50S for the sides and C50 for the RWS.
*
That's my experience with C70 for FWS as well. Heat soak is bad with C70 for FWS, and it radiates back into the driver's face. On my previous car, C70 started peeling off at the corner and I got it replaced by Huper Optik Sech60 for FWS. Much much better film in terms of heat rejection, optical clarity and color matches C40 well. On paper the C70 has good specs, but suffers from bad heat soak under prolonged exposure to sunlight.

Where u do your huper optik tint? After reading so many reviews on tint  I choose HO.
*
You can ask your Honda SA, and they will arrange for the installer + HO tint to be installed at the dealership before delivery. Installers will come to the dealer to do it which is good instead of your car being driven out to get done. Mine was supplied and installed by SAG Accessories (actual shop is based in Dsra Perdana) at the Honda Dealer.

I was gonna go for Sech60 but they didn't offer it at Ceramic Pro. According to Huper Optik's HQ in Malaysia, only some select vendors carry that film. Is there much of a price difference between C70 and Sech60?
*
Sech60 is only slightly more expensive when comparing to the Ceramic range. However for my damaged tint replacement case on my previous car, Smart Window didn't charge me extra when switching from C70 to Sech60 for FWS.

Hey guys, i am about to place an order for the 1.5 tc model.

1st off thank you as the forum post did give me good insight of how the car is to end user. I didn't go through the entire v1 2 3 4 5 but glanced through the most of it especially v5

Anyway, the sales person is pushing me to get the tinting with them by dangling the warranty card, some of the forumers says it's not exactly true(void warranty). Called honda malaysia, and they too say the same but vaguely.. "it may void warranty"...how bad? "Depends on what the SC diagnosed and parts affected"

I am getting a decent deal from harvekamp (German brand with 10 yrs warranty) 4mil security tint. Does anyone have experience with this brand? Or should I stick with honda tints?

Also apart from rebates, what else did you manage to thrown in as part of the deal? I am seeing what else I can squeeze out them 😁
*
Haverkamp is relatively new here, and small tint manufacturer based in Germany vs. the bigger manufacturers. However, on paper, the specs are impressive for the ceramic range (better than Huper Optik's published figures). Looks like they were selling under the Opalfilm brand in the past for their non ceramic SL bond tints (which were not impressive in terms of specs). How it performs in the real world here would be interesting. I haven't come across many user reviews of this tint.

That's nice of them. With the blistering heat in the afternoons these days, I'm beginning to feel like I should have just went to another place to get Sech60 instead C70. The heat rejection is still good but I can really feel the heat radiating to my face on the drive back to work after lunch.
*
I think it's worth getting it swapped with Sech60. Maybe speak to them or another Huper Optik dealer (can try SAG Accessories in Dsra Perdana) on how to get this done. C70 leaves the FWS burning hot on a sunny day. Probably the reason why my C70 started peeling off at the edges after a few months on my old car.

Wax..

is sacrificed .. l assume 'coatings' do the same..
Its a myth tat coatings means no need to wash.. IMO..
*
The Fusso coat is a durable wax based "coat" and not the same as SiO2 coatings out there. Both have to wash la. SiO2 coats are more durable and have better hardness rating vs. wax based coats/sealants.

At the end they all will wear off IMHO.. just how long before the next re-coat.

I can get stained quite easily even when fusso coat still in effect. In fact, its just the next day after I applied the coat.

Need to rub really hard to get rid of the stain. Is it normal?
*
Doesn't sound normal. Fusso coat causes beading and dirt/stains should be easy to remove, unless the stain/dirt has penetrated into the coat requiring hard rubbing to remove the embedded stain trapped in the coat. Does water bead after the removal of the stain on the spot?
