QUOTE(AVFAN @ Mar 30 2017, 04:22 PM) "Chinese" can be china, taiwan, hongkong, axtro stuff; live tv or vod. Yes, China channels really easy to get. Generally speaking, hd china live and vod stuff is easiest to get... yes, standalone apps. China live tv is easy becos i think beijing has wants more people on the planet to watch their stuff! The rest, can get some here, some there, even kodi... some in hd, some in sd. QUOTE(ashotiwoth @ Mar 30 2017, 04:24 PM) Yeah lo. Gotta be patient. I really hope it will be back soon. Luckily my flight back to Malaysia is tomorrow. Not like I watch live channels a lot but missing this piece makes it incomplete. |

QUOTE(OCMAX @ Mar 30 2017, 04:59 PM) If you didn't mention about the AOD has been removed. I won't check on my Subscribed service. they are no longer available too. I heard quite a lot are affected. I think Awan is not. I could be wrong.I wonder others IPTV provider's affected? Anyway, most of the time I use Kodi to watch VOD. I feel that my box is so underutilized. QUOTE(OCMAX @ Mar 30 2017, 05:08 PM) Movies I have no worry. Can watch from streaming. Is the Wah Lai Toi. I subscribe also because of that. LOL Me not so extreme. Simply for my leisure, suka2 watch any channels. QUOTE(AVFAN @ Mar 30 2017, 05:37 PM) Underutilized... an interesting comment. Yes, mine is 32GB and 3GB RAM. True, but I'm not a movie person unless there are interesting shows. For most light users, 2/8 gb will suffice. Enthusiasts will be better off with 2/16gb as the apps pile up. Your box... 32gb, right? That will be fully utilized if u hv the speed to do biggest files on kodi quasar. The available 20gb or so can be utilized with some 1080p hd audio remux files. No need external storage, nice! I cannot wait to go back to my 50M UniFi. Coming soon. |

QUOTE(kutitata @ Mar 31 2017, 09:55 AM) Guys, Minix is quite a reputable brand, so should be OK.Looking at the Minix U9-H with the A3 remote is about rm720 on Lazada... is it worth the price? Because reading this thread most users opt for RM300 boxes which same to have more or higher specs than the U9-H, or am I missing something out? I mainly want to use the box to run spotify and output to speakers for music so good sound output is important and maybe English movies, dramas... AC wireless is also important but not so much 4K QUOTE(OCMAX @ Mar 31 2017, 10:31 AM) Just called the provider agent. He claimed they will restore those Astro channels back soon. Finger crossed! Awan also gone for few channels. |

QUOTE(Red_rustyjelly @ Apr 6 2017, 02:30 PM) question: does all the Android TV box have same channels? or different android box stream different thing? for example A box got baseball channel, B box dont have but got snooker. Imagine Android TV box is a huge Android smart phone. You will need to install your own apps to get it running. This post has been edited by fruitie: Apr 6 2017, 03:03 PM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 8 2017, 09:37 PM) Again, that messge about rooted device is a another bad myth, bs. Yes, these days I stick to my iPad for AOTG. Oh well, HyppTV box works well though. One of my devices, unrooted still get that message. Other two unrooted dun get that message, can install, can browse, but just cant load anything to play. I do not hv the explanations but i suspect astro has spent money and resources to track almost all boxes and block them. All mobile android or ios devices are fine. Devices with google androidtv also fine. Thats what i think. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 9 2017, 09:30 AM) that bit is another strange aspect. That's the reason why I stopped trying. hyppbox must have come in like a dozen submodels over the years. with many firmwares, tweaks, mistakes even. becos we read in more than one thread, almost every new box owner is "playing" with it. with comments and cries of all sorts - "can't root", "can't find", "can't install", "can't play", can't start!".! if u have it working for any app, that's almost look like blind luck, imo. QUOTE(dwRK @ Apr 9 2017, 11:39 AM) Because the HyppTV box is free, and usually the first Android box we get Actually the white Huawei box is not too bad. I have the old V5...and started sideloading once a hack was found...just to see how far that can go...that old box was too slow for my liking and only played with it for 1 week then put in the storeroom... I don't even use it for HyppTV...lol... I wanted to try HyppTV Everywhere that day and can't find my HyppTV password, looks like I will need to call TM for it before attempting to install in my box. |

My sister just informed she got a free HyppTV box from her TM supplier. I gave her mine after I changed to Docooler. So now there's extra one and soon she will have another one from her UniFi subscription after it's activated.
Suddenly we have so many white boxes. Maybe I will need to "unlock" it with Faizal's method and start selling them off. |

QUOTE(dwRK @ Apr 12 2017, 09:50 AM) TV technology advances so fast these days...I remember paying 3k just for 32" just a few years ago... could a budget 2017 4k be comparable or better to a 2016 mid range I wonder... I just bought one for my parents' room aa their current 32" has spoilt, I reckon buying a new one better than repairing the old one. RM 567 for Sharp 32" at Lazada and can use voucher. Good reminder on sound... |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Apr 12 2017, 11:00 AM) That's the plan... Manufacturers make it so that repairs are costly.. Almost as much as just getting a new one. This way, they always have sales.. I remember the much older CRT TVs, those buggers can take a hard beating (improves picture clarity Still we proceeded to repair the old Samsung as there is something wrong with the colour profile. It only costs us RM 250. |
