"Chinese" can be china, taiwan, hongkong, axtro stuff; live tv or vod.

Generally speaking, hd china live and vod stuff is easiest to get... yes, standalone apps.

China live tv is easy becos i think beijing has wants more people on the planet to watch their stuff!

The rest, can get some here, some there, even kodi... some in hd, some in sd.

That will be fully utilized if u hv the speed to do biggest files on kodi quasar.
The available 20gb or so can be utilized with some 1080p hd audio remux files.

Looking at the Minix U9-H with the A3 remote is about rm720 on Lazada... is it worth the price?

Because reading this thread most users opt for RM300 boxes which same to have more or higher specs than the U9-H, or am I missing something out?

I mainly want to use the box to run spotify and output to speakers for music so good sound output is important and maybe English movies, dramas...

AC wireless is also important but not so much 4K

My WSTV subscription has managed to stream Astro again. 

question: does all the Android TV box have same channels? or different android box stream different thing? for example A box got baseball channel, B box dont have but got snooker.

is it easy to find those apps? I am planning to get one for my ol'man. he loves sports channel .

imo, everybody got it wrong.
all my android devices, 7 in total... are unrooted.

astrogo works on 3 of them, not on the other 4.

Again, that messge about rooted device is a another bad myth, bs.

One of my devices, unrooted still get that message.

Other two unrooted dun get that message, can install, can browse, but just cant load anything to play.

I do not hv the explanations but i suspect astro has spent money and resources to track almost all boxes and block them.

All mobile android or ios devices are fine.

Devices with google androidtv also fine.

Thats what i think.

hyppbox must have come in like a dozen submodels over the years.

with many firmwares, tweaks, mistakes even.

becos we read in more than one thread, almost every new box owner is "playing" with it.

with comments and cries of all sorts - "can't root", "can't find", "can't install", "can't play", can't start!".!

if u have it working for any app, that's almost look like blind luck, imo.

I have the old V5...and started sideloading once a hack was found...just to see how far that can go...that old box was too slow for my liking and only played with it for 1 week then put in the storeroom... I don't even use it for HyppTV...lol...

TV technology advances so fast these days...I remember paying 3k just for 32" just a few years ago... could a budget 2017 4k be comparable or better to a 2016 mid range I wonder...

That's the plan... Manufacturers make it so that repairs are costly.. Almost as much as just getting a new one. This way, they always have sales.. I remember the much older CRT TVs, those buggers can take a hard beating (improves picture clarity  ) every single day and still function for decades.. I dare anyone to try hitting their current LED TV a few times to see what happens...   

My Old Samsung 29" 4:3 TV being strike by lighting 3 times and got repaired but than technology forced me to changed to Plasma after that LCD > and again.
