Is Exodus having problem?
my V16 Kodi with latest Exodus dont have any good streams.
Only few HD barely loading and SD streams only.

Using Minix X8 Plus max 4.4.2 only right? cant support V17 Kodi now

It doesn't seem like a popular device... At least among those who frequent this thread. Occasionally, someone comes to ask about this Ubox and no comments or reviews are offered.. So you may have to take a chance and hope it satisfies your needs. Do come leave a review of sorts if you get it.

There's a few unblock, evpad, etc., threads scattered around Lowyat...do a specific search and you will find them...

The box per the spec is worth about RM 150 IMHO...I guess it should work fine for its intended purpose...

I don't recommend paying RM 500-600 for it, but I can understand why some folks are willing...

if u hv read at least the first 2 pages of this thread, u will have an idea how these boxes work.
they are not like astro or hyppbox where u just press buttons.
the box is empty at first, need to load in the apps.
depending where u buy and who u buy from, some of them come with some apps preinstalled.
the thing is are those what u want?
if they aren't, where and how will u find what u want?
a lot of apps look good but they don't work well or don't work at all!
also, some apps die off after a few weeks or so, u need to find updates.

how good a box is is determined by the specs of the chipset and the firmware the maker put in it.
that box u mention is 1/16gb android5. 2/16gb is the norm now.
as for firmware, poor ones will eventually lead to problems like hanging, slow response, cannot play this and that, etc.
a good box also has regular firmware updates and u know here to get them.

it is understandable that u are still finding out how it all works.
take time to read the first few pages, a lot of work has been put there by TS.

the above is about online streaming.
another way to watch videos is first download on your pc, then playback at the box via usb port/hdd.
most people use an android box for both purposes.

lastly, RM400...u have quite some choices.
again, some popular brands and models listed in the first page of thread.

ok guys..here is my simple short review for recently bought new KM8 pro tv box

user posted image

6. Video decorder: H.265 4K @60fps 10btis, VP9 Profile 2, H.264 4K @30fps, AVS+ 1080P @60fps
7. Video encorder: H.264 1080P @60fps
8. HDR: HDR 10, HLG HDR
9. KODI: KODI 17.0 version
10. Decoder format: HD MPEG1/2/4, H.265/HEVC, HD AVC/VC-1, RM/RMVB, Xvid/DivX3/4/5/6, RealVideo8/9/10
11. Media format: Avi/Rm/Rmvb/Ts/Vob/Mkv/Mov/ISO/wmv/asf/flv/dat/mpg/mpeg
12. Music format: MP3/WMA/AAC/WAV/OGG/DDP/TrueHD/HD/FLAC/APE
13. Photo format: HD JPEG/BMP/GIF/PNG/TIFF
14. Network Function: Miracast, Airplay, Skype chatting, Picasa, Youtube, Flicker, Facebook, Online movies, etc.
15. DRM: Optional: Microsoft Playready, Verimatrix, Google Widevine Level 1; Supported: Google Widevine Level 3
install...all plug n play...even the seller include an additional adaptor to convert 2 pin plug into 3pin plug...

rear port consist:
hdmi
lan
power plug
av out (3.5mm)

side port (on the left hand side when looking from front of the device)
2 usb port
1 microsd slot
front: power status LED and power button...
the size is quite minimal and clean... no external antenna....

powering on...quite fast....
tested media:
-4k (uhd mp4 video clip from my 4k drone recording) works great no stutter or lag...it just play immediately
-mp3 with 320kbps also works good
-kodi came preinstalled but all of the installed link not working...
so i've uninstall the kodi...and reinstall latest version from playstore....all working great...

-game not yet tested...(not really interested on gaming purpose)

-air mouse/keyboard not yet bought... so kiv on that....
-on audio is quite decent...i didnt expect high end sound...since i hook my logitech 5.1 pc speaker to the tv and live with that....so sound transferred thru hdmi...so it should be fine....

while watching from kodi and/or playing mp3 all speakers sending appropriate sound true to 5.1 speaker output...
-only complain is i felt the device was a bit warm... (solved by using laptop cooler fan at the bottom of the device for cooling....also sit besides it sharing the cooler fan is the unifi modem)

-and remote receiving angle wasnt that great on the device...had to point a bit more towards the device...  (apparently the device is designed to sit on higher level like top rack above your tv for optimum remote control receiving angle)

-i found another issue with KODI specifically on sound production....
*everytime i play audio/video/streaming, the when i select upmix option and left it there (i set volume gain 60db), the first time, audio will be loud and crystal clear, but when i play other media next time around, the sound level will be back to normal (not the loud 60db gain as set before)....while checking again in the stereo upmix, it was remain unchanged.... BUT then when i cycle it off...then turn on back again the stereo UPMIX, then it will be loud again like the way it should after setting it the first time....
*THIS might be issue on KODI and nothing wrong on the box itself i guess....

because it doesn happen if i play any media directly from other apps (not using kodi)
thats all....
apps installed:

#KODI working fine (uninstall factory installation and install fresh kodi 17)
#Astro OTG NOT WORKING (rooted device) <--- lazy to unroot
#HYPPTV everywhere (installed fine but not all channel...error 111)
#iflix YES! (working perfectly)
#terrariumTV works
#speedtest works
#meteor speedtest works
#cimb clicks apps works
#MAYBANK2u apps NOT WORKING (due to jailbroken a.k.a rooted device)
#random mobile specific apps from official google playstore works

Can you also add another line for ram?
8gb ram is very misleading for any beginner.

Thanks.

Edit: forget abt my comments here. After refresh, i see it is fixed.

You might want to rethink that.. I'm assuming that Kodi is an important requirement?? As you can see from his review, Kodi 17 isn't faring well...17.1 may not fare better and with future changes to the Kodi code, probably worse down the line. So I would advise you hold out and only purchase a device that's confirmed to stick to and properly implement Android' standards. As the Kodi app has gotten quite strict and there's no turning back.

no, not a kodi issue.

once u set upmix, amplification and "apply to all media", it will stay like that.
