So my friend who "took" my T95M Sunvell awhile back recently asked me to help setup FTMC again as lots of addon has become redundant especially icdrama. So I help setup everything and it's working very well.

So I decided to test mkv file movies but however there's only the picture but no sound. Other files working well. Tried playing mkv files using mx player or stock media player results in the same. FYI, this box does not have DTS Passthrough etc

What could be wrong?
*
Do you have a speaker system or the speakers are from TV itself ?

Three things to try :

1. You can try playing back the Video using Kodi or FTMC. Yes Kodi and FTMC can play local files. Disable audio pass through if necessary.

2. Or you go to MX player setting --> decoder --> SW audio ( local ). Might have audio lag.

3. Upgrade to newer version of MX player which has HW+ decoder. This is somewhat problematic in installation as there are a few things need to get them right.

Files are ok, have used the same multiple times
Am using the latest mx player, have tried those settings with same outcome

What else should I be looking for. Reset is the last option as always
*
Did you play the file using Kodi or Ftmc ? That's the first option and working option. Latest MX player requires you to install codec apk and so on. Because of licensing issue you have to install the codec files separately. They are not included in one click installation.

Just scan the net about Intel Compute Stick, there will be comments about.

One I came across :-

Just read the title is enough if you are impatient. devil.gif

doesnt work on mine...

already check the correct product id/vendor id...also in generic...  both didnt worked....
but i think i need to try using another 3 id found listed in the connected device...
*
Modify Generic.kl directly.

Don't bother with vendor_xxxx_product_yyyy.kl. Does not work. Already tried enough.

Also :-

On the keyboard, only suspend is OK.

Cannot get power resume to work. Power resume is a behavior in the kernel.

Only the original remote (or remotes which can mimic the original remote IR code ) can resume from suspension.

yeah... in generic also tried...

all other command like enter and else didnt work also...
tried the external keyboard mapper apk also didnt bring up any change
*
I supposed you already know you need to reboot after modifying Generic.kl for it to take effect.

Also 'power' button on/off the remote control isn't exactly a reboot, ie is a power suspend/resume.

You already know all these .... Sorry, I really long winded like grandmother .....

Hi all, any minix neo u1 or u9 user here?
wan to ask is both of this box can use as bluetooth receiver?
meaning pairing my iphone and output the music to the box ?
*
Funny that you have such a requirement. People use tv boxes as BT sound transmitter instead.

I don't think it will work easily. Need to load special software on both ends. Best of luck.

Then you don't need BT. This subject was brought up because someone wanted to have BT feature on the TV Boxes ....

The BT on TV Boxes are like the BT on phone, they are wired with the software to make them as sound transmitters.

Bro
check with you can this AirPlay mirroring feature to Smart TV?
*
I supposed all these things work in a pair, the sender needs the receiver and the receiver needs the sender.

Problem is whether the Smart TV has the counter part developed by the Smart TV vendor or not, if it is not Android.

From what I read, Airplay's forte is actually IOS, expanded to support Android is a later thing.

want to find cheap android TV just to do this:
1. Kodi with Quasar that can play 4K/1080p content that allow HD audio passthrough (DTS-HD or Dolby Digital  TrueHD)

already got a TV box that can play alot of live content, just want to find another cheap one that can purely to watch Kodi with Quasar Video Add on to watch 4K/1080p content taht allow HD audio passthrugh. my current TV box can install Kodi but not allow HD audio passthru....know Himedia Q10 Pro or Minix U9 can support it, but price range 500-600, so if can find any brand box with 200-300 price tag, will be nice...

You won't and if you do.. Please come back and share.. RM200 is less then $50.. You want a box that does it all at that price point? Manufacturing, software development, shipping, advertising costs, etc.. bet you want great PQ and an non-buggy firmware and or guaranteed firmware updates for life all for that price point.. Please lah.. be real and up your budget to get the real deal.

Want super-car levels but pay mass production price.. Where can.. tongue.gif

Actually audio passthrough is less work for the player ( in this case, the player is the TV BOX), basically it is just sending the audio data through without decoding it, and let the receiver perform the decoding. And hence one of the possible failure of audio passthrough, could be the receiver is unable to decode the compressed audio data format.

Disable audio passthrough requires the player to use its CPU juice to decode the compressed audio data into the PCM form and sent it through, it requires more work.

Kodi should support audio passthrough. Why it wouldn't ? I tend to think this is a setup or configuration problem.

Wrong.. There's more to passthrough tech than just Kodi can handle it. By your explanation, HiMedia wouldn't have to come up with a wrapper workaround, etc. Do some light reading on the differences between Krypton and Jarvis.. AMcodec, auto-framerate switching, HD audio licensing, mediacodec, etc.. You'll quickly find out that things aren't as simple as they seem..

For android boxes running Krypton, to be able to pass-through HD audio properly, their firmware MUST adhere to Android's IEC audio standards.. no more hackery from Jarvis and below days..Doesn't matter if the Kodi software is able to do it or not.. If the firmware isn't coded to meet the standards, Kodi has nothing to tap into..
*
But all the postings in the net say Kodi Krypton supports audio passthrough. And to run Krypton, it has to be android marshmallow. I don't see a post which specifically mention that Kodi Krypton would not work with audio passthrough.

Hi. Not sure whether this is off topic or not. If it is, my apology.

I was wondering, do you people use VPN on the router? If yes, any recommendation based on personal experience.

FYI, I only want to watch movies and even on MiBox 3S and 50Mbps, it's not smooth at times.
*
Many reasons for streaming not to be stable.

Maybe just watch SD content, that will be smooth.

Are you watching paid content ? Paid content is hosted on dedicated servers, so it will be smoother.

My MXQ player after installing RSS player ( by PL media solution ) and added the ICDRAMA rss feed, hit a problem of "unable to play this video".

I installed the same program on my phone, it is working.

Seems like it is picking a video player which can't play the video from rss feed. But it did not prompt me to select a video player at all.

Kodi on the same MXQ box is working on IDRAMA videos.

I had a T95M which my friend had hijacked running on Android 5. I recently helped him redo everything especially upgrade to Krypton. This device is fast and trouble free. I'm still amazed at the speed although it is with s905 quad core compared to others I've tried like Mini M8S or GT1
*
Will Krypton run on Android 5 ?

I thought I read somewhere Krypton has to run and Android 6 and above and S905 does not support Android 6.

Hi,

Anyone knows who can provide service for unbrixing tvbox?
Mine m8s box bricked and kind of give up.

Cheers
*
Boxes are kind of cheap these days, I guess people would rather buy new boxes than paying someone else to unbrick the box.

Would you pay if someone is charging you RM 50-100 for unbricking it ? wink.gif

Hi guys. Been doing some reading and I have finally narrowed down my choices to one of these two: Minix U9-H and Himedia Q10 Pro. I'm buying for my parents in Kampung, dad is bored with the free mytv channels lol. so I reckon I need something with easier navigation / user friendly interface (more like uncle-friendly interface) haha. Appreciate your help. Thanks
*
In my opinion, there is no user friendly tv boxes, ie no matter how, they are just too difficult for less educated oldies.

Kodi is just too difficult.

Apps could be easier, but not many apps are written for tv remote. If the apps are written for phone/tablet, it is going to be a nightmare in navigation.

What is the different with HD Audio passthrough and without ? my Tv is not 4k, 2 HDMI port and 1 USB port.
*
HD audio passthrough is needed if you have the more expensive audio equipment which can handle decoding of compressed audio.

If you don't have such equipment, you can still use host based decoding of compressed audio stream. With proper codec on the host, one still able to hear audio when playing video with compressed audio.

Oic, Thanks guys very much for explanations.

So I do not need HD audio passthrough, What is your recommendation on Tv box for my requirements as follows:

My Tv is a Full HD LED TV (is a basic Tv, not 4k, not smart Tv)
Resolutions is (1,920 x 1,080)
Using : Wifi
Budget < RM500
Need a Tv Box mostly for movie, documentary,  and China movie series programmes (Not into games or sport).

Thanks
*
You only have a basic requirement. Your present need can be met with an entry level box. The only thing you have to watch out is some boxes have poor wifi connection quality. If your router is far away, then you really have find something which is proven in its wifi connection quality.
