For Android boxes, perhaps none but I can vouch for Roku & Amazon Fire TV. Roku especially is amazingly user friendly and simple to use. The initial setting-up of a Roku account is a pain though due to geo-fencing. But once setup, it works like a charm. Both oldies and kids can use it easily. I still miss my Roku 3.
Amazon Fire TV is slightly less user friendly since they push their Amazon Video content and search is not universal but I think they fixed it newer versions (I only have experience with the first version so can't comment on the new versions).

It's a little bundle of Open Source DIY tinkerer's paradise, in the sense that if devices such as the RPI interest you, you'd take a shine ti the Khadas VIM2 box too. Appears very versatile with multiple OS and user functions.

I am confuse now. I just need some help on your recommendation.

I only have simple requirement for the box:

1) able to install and run AOTG (understand mostly work on non-rooted box)
2) support airplay for iOS 9.0 and above, miracast
3) support OTA - over the air update
4) support 802.11ac
5) prefer decent processor for performance eg. S912 or
6) more RAM better, 3GB is great
7) storage not so much, 16GB more than enough
(only use it for streaming live tv, movies, youtube only).

On item 1, lucky for me AOTG still can run for my H96pro plus with SCV7 rom.

Agree with puchongite, it is difficult to find a tvbox to run ATOG.
It may run now, but 3 months later maybe no...never know.

I thought AOTG cannot run with rooted devices?

Not sure and if can be hidden with Magisk, I may try.

I'm using Minix Neo U1. No issues with latest AOTG version.

Mine is S912 3gb/32gb.
Funny for me, non rooted itself cant run AOTG, but rooted with magisk to hide root only can run.

Magisk to hide root, i  starting from ver. 13.x and now running 14.3.

I wont agree magisk is effectively hiding root.
I COULD ONLY GUESS If you original firmware is non- rooted then magisk could help hide.

Else if original boot already rooted and flashing magisk here does not help at alll.

If I am not mistaken, the unit sold by Gearbest is pre-rooted.

My advise to you is the goto that forum to read yourself.
Take couple of days to go thru the first few pages and also last 10-20 pages.

It is too much variation in H96 and even from same vendor also  have variations.

It is always VERY VERY risky if you dont understand...so stay away from it.

If you read but have very done flashing armlogic box before...also dont attempt if you still have doubt or dont have original firmware.

If you are sure and clear why not.?

No, mine got it from lazada.

No issue for me including streaming upto 4K movie within kodi.
FYI, i dont have av system so cant comment much on audio passthrough. I know from forum feedback is DTS work but no AC3.
Mine is green, but want stretching this again, but same vendor also have variations. Mine brought in Feb2018.

For wifi no issue with my h96 box.
I see feedback, that some of them have problem due to internal antenna was stick on the wrong place or drop out from the glue or the somehow contacting the ground signal.

You might want to check your and move away from processor or chips. Better if you drill a hole and make that antenna standing straight.
