My 2nd review of iPhone 7 Plus after 3 months 20 days of usage.

What I like

 • Design & Build - Very solid and elegance.
 • Screen & Quality - Even though it is not SAMOLED but it is a very high quality great color reproduction LCD. The screen is very very very nice! The nicest I ever own for LCD which I said it is as good as Samsung SAMOLED display.
 • App Store - Every time when I think of something I want for, I sure can get it by searching on it. Nearly all the apps is very well build and the interface is solid and nice looking. Also the App Store is changing quality apps display every week with one free apps of the week. This never happen in Android and Android keep showing same or no quality apps in main page which make people feel like Playstore is less apps but actually it is not, just Google dunno how to promote apps like what Apple did.
 • Apps & Games - Some same apps in iOS is better build than in Android. As for gaming experience, iOS is far ahead, much smoother and certain apps is much nicer look.
 • Music - I really love Apple Music, no regret sign up and will continue the subscription. For Android user can just subscribe to Spotify which have same service and same price. In this part I find both is same win.
 • Camera - The camera is very awesome output with very fast focus.
 • Apps Interface - iOS interface is well done and you can't find any glitch on it, it is very well build, every part is well design, all icons & interface had a standard control in high quality, not like Android certain apps icon is very bad build and seems no control on it.
 • Gesture - Seems not much people talk on the gesture function in iOS, it is actually very well done where make you easier to go back or forward by swiping in nearly all apps. Swipe down to minimize the video or photo view in the apps. Also the double tab to go top is very useful. I give big thumbs on this small design gesture.
What I Dislike

 • Fingerprint - The worst fingerprint I ever use! Slightly dirt or wet will make it totally not functioning. Even though it recognition is very fast but this cannot handle when dirt or wet make it the worst fingerprint in mobile on earth!
 • Photos - The worst photo album I ever use, please don't improving those tag, not much people actually use it. The basic create album folder also don't have, all create folder is just simply a shortcut, very annoying everything still appear at Camera Roll.
 • Music - I like it but also dislike it, the stability on this apps is bad, it keep FC when you browse a lot of Apple Music to find new song. (still happen like this even on latest iOS).
 • Stability - Certain apps can make the phone not ring when people calling, sometimes the sound became distortion when notification coming in during you listen to Music, certain apps sometimes the update unstop and keep update, the only way to stop it is remove the apps and re-install back, certain apps just FC after install or during the halfway usage and etc. Even though it is not much happening but it is there. I actually found Android is much more stable and less issue now, at least in my last few Android phones I don't find single issue or FC at all.
 • App Store - I love it but also hate it, why Apple restricted apps to be download if more than 300 MB by using Mobile Data (it mentioned 100 MB but actually is around 300 MB). This is very very stupid, I know the good point of restricted it but at least it shall let user enable it.
 • Apps Interface - Apple is well control on fragmentation and quality control but why they is still have apps not optimize for high resolution. Those apps shall be removed and forced developer update it.
 • Camera - the second camera boots up too much ISO and make the photo output very bad most the time. Also why still no wide mode. I know can use third party apps but I prefer original stock have it.
What I find it not that useful

 • Force Touch (the hardware) - This just make finger paint and use more energy, I don't see any different than using press and hold to activate the same function. This hardware is extremely unnecessary. (the function itself is great but the way to activate it is not).
 • Widget Page - This page I put there for fun and never use it, it is like kindergarten job when compare with Android widget which not only can make your home screen unique and nice but also functional to be home page.
What Stock App I don't use

 • Safari - The page scrolling is too slow. I prefer Chrome as it scroll fast not page by page.
 • Stock Keyboard - I no longer use type since 5 or 6 years ago. Is time implement swipe. Lucky got Gboard else I will be stuck in typing.
What I wish in future iOS update & next iPhone

 • Swipe function - This shall be an option in stock keyboard.
 • Themes - Is time to implement, at least let user theme the icon.
 • Edge to Edge - Is time use edge to edge display, reduce the top and bottom bezel.
 • No home button - I really hope the rumors is true, remove the home button and implement the Touch Bar.
 • Design - Is time to give iPhone a new look
What will be my next future mobile phone - Definitely the next iPhone.  biggrin.gif

Thanks for the sharing and the writing. I always like to read such long and detail sharing. Your sharing is a good reference for Android users who are considering the switch. I fully agree with you that they should remove the home button and add themes especially free themes like those on Huawei phones. The notification could use some modification, personally I prefer Android notification. Since I am not in a rush, I am taking my friends' advice on waiting for this year Iphone. However rumors say that the price could be at least USD 1000 and that is really a premium price to pay.

IOS fanboy can never accept android. Except for dual (android and IOS users like myself).  tongue.gif  Google's Pixel never really lived up to its hype and its price range. Seriously, if I were to pay so much for a Pixel, I rather go for the iphone 7. The best android till now is the the forsaken Note 7.
*
Agree. I would choose Pixel if they have local manufacturer support and software support like iPhone (read that Google will support it for two years). With that price I will buy iPhone just for the peace of mind. Will still keep an Android device to enjoy the good of both OS.

So I've been complaining a lot about the terrible touch ID on the iphone 7 plus here and finally today I got a one on one replacement set.
the new set works so so much better, and touch id recognize almost immediately even when my fingers are a bit sweaty. Guess I just had a faulty unit previously biggrin.gif

That's great. Change at service center?

Just got my IP7+ for 10 days. As an ex Android user, here are some observations I made during this short period.
1. The phone is really smooth even I did not clear almost 20 apps running in
background. However I still can't shrug off old habit of clearing background apps
from time to time.
2. iTunes syncing is not as bad as what I read online. I was surprised to learn you
can move out files from iPhone without iTunes when using Window 10 PC.
3. Still automatically look for "Back" button. Some apps either don't have it or I
am simply clueless. In the end, I had to press home button.
4. The notification was weird initially but eventually get used to it.
5. Night mode is better than what Android apps tried to do.
6. iBooks selection is quite disappointingly little. I can use Google Play Books to read
those I bought in Google devices as iOS version doesn't have purchase option.
7. So far only experience one crash when I was in poor signal area and accidentally
open an app that require connection.

So far I am satisfied with the phone, looking forward to iOS 11(yeah, no need to wait a long time for an OS update that never arrive). I think it's worth it if you can get the iPhones in promotion.

My iPhone Home Screen Arrangement Rules! 😊😝😍

 • Always have Favor folder in main page and I am using it a lot.
 • Phone, Messages (seldom use already), Facebook and Chrome always in main bar.
 • Stock apps often in main page & second page but does't means those apps I often using it.
 • Second page had more folder created in a proper arrangement.
 • If got any ugly apps icon I will always hide it, put the most inside of Misc.
 • Games will only be inside Games folder, forever cannot be outside the folder.
 • I use up to 3 pages only to assure the dot in center when in home screen.
 • Leaving some space at bottom to make the home screen not clouded.
 • All arrangement follow my own feel with equality balance and color arrangement.

Nice layout you have there. Where do you get the new wallpapers? Any good apps or site to recommend?

Yeah now u can enjoy: frequent updates, no battery/data leaks, settings that are obeyed by the os, better security as frequent reports of security issue will be squashed and os updated in 2 weeks time. Smooth, buttery smooth especially 7 plus. It just works, don't have to tinker around feel, well optimized/smooth apps and games for iOS.

U will miss: direct file transfers to pc, customize home screen, the back button, wait for new updates or os version(if any coming at all).

Good trade off?
*
Yes, it is a good trade off. Lol, I won't miss what you mentioned especially the wait for new OS.

*
Lol, exactly what I did too. Don't want to scratch a new phone.
