QUOTE(MUM @ Jul 6 2019, 09:12 AM) KGF accounts about 30% of my portfolio. What is an alternative to KGF? I plan to top up CIMB China, to take advantage of the 0.8% sales charges. Maybe buy in Manulife REIT? |

QUOTE(Smurfs @ Jul 9 2019, 08:49 AM) REIT is often treated as alternative fixed income instrument, which is sensitive to interest rate environment. Thanks for the explanation it all makes sense now.If interest rate decreases, it will widen the yield spread between REIT and other fixed income instrument, which will make REIT become more attractive, REIT price go up and vice versa. As a comparison : - MGS 10-year yield now traded as low as 3.6x - US 10 yr treasuries yield traded at 2.0x - German Bund yield at -0.3x Due to current low yield environment, institution / pension fund which are hungry for stable yield pour their money in REIT, hence REIT price is going higher and higher. |

QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Jul 17 2019, 05:39 PM) Let say my previous % was on 10%. Now raise to 16%. I sell 6% so I got this gain. Not really familiar with the acronyms. Can you elaborate further? Thanks. If wanted to take all 16% also same. Just that if you still want the exposures of the region, you can keep at as the initial % of yours. This is same as robo. You maintain the same % of the desired objective very 1st when you start investing. Sell the performer buy the underperforming. GEM, nikko, and MY. aaxj and cn already achieve desired % last February |

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Jul 31 2019, 07:56 PM) I'm betting there is potential upside to Malaysian market and the surrounding region in general coming. I'm less optimistic on other asia region. I decided to buy in a bit on Eastspring Small Cap fund. Agree on the HK part as the CIMB fund that I am currently holding has a considerable investment in HK equities lol. |
