QUOTE(Drian @ Aug 8 2019, 04:20 PM) anyway to buy pure hongkong funds? The riot does not seem to be ending anytime soon. Hong Kong’s economy is definitely affected, it’s just that we do not know how bad is the damage. Time will tell.

QUOTE(CardNoob @ Aug 13 2019, 09:23 PM) It should be the other way right? Not sure. I always thought when interest rate is dropping, currency deteriorating, economy outlook unstable, that is when gold demand will surge as it is deemed as 'safe' investment? Correct me if I am wrong lol

Guys let's say I have a fund from an investment house, and I want to switch to another fund within the same investment house. Do I have to pay for the sales charges?

QUOTE(CardNoob @ Aug 17 2019, 12:20 PM) Switching fee may involved. Next, if the fund that you want to switch out has no SC incurred and the fund that you want to switch got higher SC incurred, then you have to pay for it. If same category fund, then no need. How do I check if there is any switching fees involved? I tried adding them into cart, proceed to the transaction fee, but it still does not say it there is any fees involved.

Ah I see. Thanks, just used the calculator.
It says switching fee 0%, redemption fee 0%, sales charge 0%, means I am good to go right?

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Aug 19 2019, 08:15 AM) Haha same. I am thinking HK haven't tank enough for us to get in, unless you can take the lost now. I am debating whether to pull off all my funds that is exposed to HK market. Especially ponzi 2.0. Reason being I do not see the protests receding anytime soon, and I believe the economy is already taking a huge hit.

QUOTE(CardNoob @ Aug 19 2019, 10:03 AM) But Ponzi 2 exposure to HK is less than a quarter! HK + China has more than 30% exposure is not a huge risk? Hmm I am not very sure hence trying to get a second opinion here.

QUOTE(Drian @ Aug 19 2019, 06:18 PM) But epf gives pretty good interest why bother doing it. Yeah I would just keep my money in EPF as none of my investment tool can give consistent return like EPF today.

QUOTE(Drian @ Aug 20 2019, 01:54 PM) Govt revival on mega infrastructure projects, stronger fdi if we can take advantage of the trade war, proposed highway acquisition, better performance in glc due to better management (telekom, tenaga, felda) to name a few, recent positive news on better gdp growth. And I also believe that ringgit is currently undervalued, despite talks that it might devalue further towards the end of the year. Just my opinion though.

QUOTE(Dratini @ Sep 5 2019, 11:37 PM) I really do hope HK will recover, so some of my MF can turn green, it has been red for the passed 2 years. The protest will continue despite the withdrawal of the bill, as protesters want govt to meet all 5 demands. I doubt it will recover in the short term though, but looking at how things are going, there is hope that the govt will finally give in due to escalating protests, and also to preserve Hong Kong's status as the economy powerhouse of asia.
