Interesting choice. What's your rationale?
*
One may use the external indicators such as US PMI, Indlation rate, Unemployment rate data etc to make decision, but ultimately these parameters are very confusing and is only good as an inference.

Algozen™ ver four has given me allocation of 20% exposure to US and recently, my US exposed UTF has dropped and I am merely topping up to make the asset allocation back to 20%.

This internal compass is what gives me the buy and sell call signal which is independant of external signals.

Algozen™ ver four Nov 2018 performance report:

M-o-M return = +1.78%
YTD return = negative (0.37%)
12 mths tracking: six month loss, six months gain.

2018 has been a suckish year for the port. The worst months are March 2018 [ - 2.76% M-o-M ] and Oct 2018 [ - 5.11% M-o-M ].

My gain came from Anita Bond [ MYR Corp Bonds ] + Selina Reits [ Asia-Pac xJp Reits ] + Dinasti [ Hang Seng exposed ].

My loss came from TA Tech [ US exposed ] + ES Eq Income Fund [ M'sia exposed ]

Yah yah you are right... I sold my cash portion only. I did not sell my KWSP - MIS portion as the KWSP portion is not e-friendly, have to fill up forms send to Eastspring office bla bla bla... and is not convenient like FSM can click here and there and voila! Done deal!

kind of funny isn't it?

I recalled few months back,....
when the US Equity mkts dropped previously...they blamed it on the US bond yield goes up.....
when the US Equity mkts dropped now...they blamed it on the US bond yield goes down...

Dow retreats as 10-year government bond yield sinks below 3%

Dear friends and fellow investors,

It is that time of the year where we take some time off and reflect on our life. The fact that you can access this webpage means you have a comfortable life and some extra means because if you are a pauper, then you would not be here reading about investment since investment is all about saving that extra money for future rainy days.

Hence I urge, I arouse you all to utilise the tax relief under ITA 67 Sec 44(6) to donate up to 7% of your aggregate income to a charity organization of your choice as listed in the LHDN website. There are plenty of souls who are much worse off than us and they need that some extra help. Be an angel and do your part.

I have done my part, have you?

Last weekend I met with my financial planner cum "low-yau" / hommie for some yum-cha / tok-kok session with some of his friends who are also in the financial services industry.

To cut the story short, the tweeting that I hear from them is no longer which market to go into etc.... but rather which money-market to park the money etc. Take it with a pinch of salt as I am not saying it is a definite answer but rather is something I hear from their chattering.

Then I went back to my Algozen™ ver four and tinker with it around later and it is true, equities are a no go these days. Personally I am going to get out of US and China allocate more into Asnita, Reits and some ASEAN equities just for diversity. Days of good return is diminishing and I have to content with single digit, slightly above FD rate for my portfolio.

I cannot find the fund selector and the volatility factor from FSM website anymore. Can anyone get it?

Algozen™ needs Volatility Factor ( VF ) to function.

QUOTE(HayashiAska @ Jan 2 2019, 08:37 PM)
What the program does is it gets all the funds information, historical prices and their dividends or splits if any.
Derive their monthly or weekly returns to get the 3 year correlation matrix and 3 year volatility (I still can't get the same value as FSM).
But because the number of unique portfolios of 10 funds which can be formed from the list of 490+ funds on FSM is enormous (a 21 digit number), it is going to take any computer forever to iterate through all of them.

My approach is I'll start by filtering out all funds under 3 or 5 years, then filter out those with low Sharpe ratio and low 5 or 10 year returns.
Then from this smaller set, I'll generate a "population" of maybe a 1000 portfolios. Each of them will be optimized to achieve a certain sharpe ratio with a desired returns/risk. Then the program "culls" off the lowest performing 80% of the population. The remaining 20% will be copied over several times and mutated (switch 1 fund with another fund) until the population level is back to 100%. This whole process will be repeated over many generations until no significant improvement in performance can be seen. If everything goes alright, the top few performers should be the *best* portfolio.

*best is a relative term, but you get the idea*

The whole idea is based on Modern Portfolio Theory.
But the thing is, i'm using historical returns as the "expected returns" input at the moment, and this is not so good.
This needs to be improved in the future.

The whole of 2018 Y-o-Y performance is in.

2018 is a shitty year and my port gave a Y-o-Y ROI of negative 7.5%.

In Dec 2018, my port return a loss of five digits. Suxs!

In 12 months of tracking, seven months is red, and only five months gave black result.

The positive result is small gain, but negative result is big loss.

Worse months are: March, June, Oct & Dec 2018.

With regards to Ponzi 2,

I, too, noticed that they were declaring distribution even though we all know that their assets in the Far-east exposure had been severely battered down in 2018.

Not sure why, could be, may be, it is mandated in their trust deed.

But who am I to question them, I am no longer a unit holder of Ponzi 2 for more than two years liao.

What is GEM sifu Xuzen?
Selina fly up very high ler, sustainable?

Where got fly high? It is a REITS fund lar... it does not fluctuate a lot one.
Reits is the temporary darling because of equities turmoil. Nothing is permanent and once equities come back on track, REITS will be left behind.

ES GEM ar?

EM been rallying for past one month.
Off around 10% from the peak.

30% will it a little bit too high?
*
I refer GEM to AM Global Emerging Market fund.

If you suka Eastspring EM Fund, also ok one...

Oh one more thing, if those whose balls are more steely than others can look at CIMB Greater China fund.

I am not going in because I am exposed to China via ES Dinasti in my KWSP - MIS portfolio already.

Hope all bros and sis can shed some light...

LIBRA ASNITABOND FUND has no sales charge, redemption fee, and switching fee. Does it mean I can buy in and change into other funds like CMF 2?

Cause RHB Bond fund has fees.. makes it look less appealing wo. tqtq
*
Yes, the above is one of the very appealing thing about Asnita.

different purpose. CMF 2 for me is a temporary parking space, quite akin to current account role

My Algozen™ ver four M-o-M result just came in.

Port made a 2.5% return M-o-M.

In the last 12 mths of tracking, six months gave negative return, the other six more months gave me positive return.

However, in the last six months, my Y-o-Y return is still in a large negative territory.

My port holdings all made positive gain. 1 month return for Selina Reits ( +4.45%), Dinasti ( +6.5%), CIMB-ASEAN ( +4%), ES Eq Income ( +2.4%), Anita (+0.32%).
