rclxms.gif good to hear that...
mine too, if excluding the opportunity cost.....on YTD, my portfolio had recovered 70% of the paper monetary value that I had lost in 2018.
hope the other forummers are having a good times too....
hope it will last for a few more months..... biggrin.gif

on 2nd thought....looks like this year got no chance for GREEN for my Affinhwang select asia oppor, United Jpn Discovery and KGF....still 10% in RED. ranting.gif

Are you happy with the fund? Considering whether to invest in this or buy reit stocks

Thanks to Ramjade for the persistent mentioning of this in 2017....
i got it then...performed while others dived in 2018, now in 2019, had also been performing as per other asset class of the same region

it is about 16% of my portfolio allocation....

I'm contemplating of investing in Manulife Asia Pacific REIT unit trust vs SGX REIT direct investment. Which path would you choose assuming you have the bullets to invest and why?

Appreciate your feedbacks. Thanks.
*
have you compared the diversity of the allocation between these 2?

just looking at the titles of the funds....looks like Manulife is more diversified....

just my 2 cents

Of course Manulife is more diversified, but then 50-60% of Manulife is invested in SGX.
*
but for me, I just wanted a more diversified fund.....58% in SG is better than maybe 95% in SG alone

but unknown to how many % of this SG Reits you gonna allocate with your investable $$.....
this ratio can also act as diversification tool too....

The government has detailed the assets Lembaga Tabung Haji transferred to a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for RM19.9 billion even though the book value of those assets is only around RM10 billion.

https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/468076

there is a list of stock holdings involved....

"The new SPV handling the transferred assets was named Urusharta Jamaah Sdn Bhd (UJSB).
The Prime Minister's Department said UJSB's goal will be to rehabilitate the assets transferred from Tabung Haji and restructuring them."

With these rehabilitation and restructurings.....to recovers the RM10 billion variance.......how long will it impact Malaysian markets?

will they dump 1 billion per year for 10 years?
will they push and dump once or twice a year to generate some profits?
or will they do ......

any veterans stock markets investors mind to shed some lights into the impact?

currently I am having 15% of the port in Malaysia Eq funds

I know what you meant....

just that, if those that had "pulled" out of US market in Jan 2013 thinking that the DJI had reached an all time high.....
wondering how much it missed till now?

moderately, have some of US in the port.

Thinking of liquidating my managed port but when see the sale charges  rclxub.gif
*
subscription charges had already been charged during the initial buy....
liquidate now or liquidate latter does not matter as it had already been charged.
it is the Portfolio Management Fee of 0.50% per annum, charged on a quarterly basis that matter....the longer you wait to liquidate the more RM they will charge you

FSM Managed Portfolio....

QUOTE(toiletking2006 @ Mar 19 2019, 09:58 AM)
They like to rebalance their fund constantly. Approx 1-2 months once.
Sometimes u might miss the rally because of their constant switching.
Or switch out of their newly added fund 1 month after holding...
Seems like newbie doing investment to me. And it is totally opposite of what is preach in their article. Which is avoiding frequent rebalance
*
QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Mar 19 2019, 10:23 AM)
Exactly. Precisely.

I was so fed up with this last year. Switching right and left in the volatile period is just hahah
*
i happened to met FSM people just now.....
they mentioned that they did not switch funds in their Managed portfolio so frequently as mentioned by you guys....(she said maybe every 3 or 4 months once due to last year's very volatilile trends)

i am sure you guys did keep a monthly track records of your funds listing very month.

could you guys please show me some data to rebut her claims that it is not true that the fund listing changed very month.

btw,...CIMB Asset mgmt people said....
they could not see any sign of a recession in the coming 18 mths.....
China bond mkts will get a big boost next 1~2 months,
Greater China region & emerging markets would performed better than the rest of the world this year
be prepared for the reality of slower growth for the next few years.
have some bond funds in the portfolio

Hi guise,
Was wondering which is the best bond fund in you guise opinion? I have affin hwang select bond fund .. but i crave for better performance in a bond fund hehe
*
hmm.gif unknown to a lot of things about you...
I just make a general comparison for those that wanted to crave for a better performance than a bond fund....
while almost all of the EQ funds are badly burnt in 2018....when compared with Affin Hwang Select bond this fund stand up when comparing its losses in 2018 and the gains of all the previous years
