And also for CPF funds. Maybe to Msian EPF,PRS don't mean much but to us Sporean it meant A LOT Reason being at age 55 we cannot withdraw all so we need to make sure we let our CPF make the most profits as much as possible with the least fees in this case for FSM Spore it is 0% platform fees.

This is why for Sporean investing we treat the difference very big. CPF investment and cash investment. This big difference is also reflected in the funds that are for sale. Fund ABC only cash. Same fund ABC (CPF) purely for CPF. The fund house actually understand the needs and purposely create two separate but actually same fund to lure more investors. The CPF version has lower expense ratio in order to fulfill the requirement in order for it to take investor CPF monies.

Maybe this is Msia forum so many investors don't see the diff but back in Spore forum this CPF vs cash investment is hot debate! A lot of times got new investment instruments we Sporean will ask can use CPF or not as first question.

thumbup.gif no wonder,...for some of your posts in FSM MY threads, does not make sense to me (at least)....
thumbup.gif noted the highly possible reason for the discrepancies..
but for some mathematical facts,...they are applicable to both forums

Hi Sifus,

Is it true that funds derived from 'true' investment company like eg Kenanga, Aberdeen are more profitable compared to funds from banks, eg. Maybank, Public Bank.

Please correct if I'm wrong.
*
More profitable mean more ROI for investors?
Where do you get the data/info from?
Or why do you think they are so?
Mind sharing?

Yes, in terms of ROI.

No listed data, just my observation when comparing in general my investment in different fund houses.
*
thumbsup.gif ok,...noted your responses about "your observation"...
i also assumed that observation is also apple to apple comparison in relation to their mandate...

I'm a failed investor
All my hard earned money.
Even bank fd could get at least 2% or crypto fd at 12 %.
My decisions are worst when it comes to investments.
Any opinion on my worthless decisions?
Opinions welcome.
....
*
Maybe perhaps can try the fsm managed portfolio? Or SAMY?.
Anyway, do take note that when the markets are down they will also kena hit too.
Just that they may not have higher concentration risk than yours.
My definition of a "failed investor" is one that failed to learnt from past investments endeavours that encompassed his financial positions, stages of life's environment, stability of current income flow, etc, etc,... Which are bound to happens or change in the future...
A simple performance improvement plans may consist of PDCA.
Plan your action
Do that planned actions
Check on status of those "done actions", under those "Do", (earlier) periodically
Action, after those "check" (reviews),... Come out with actions plan,...
Then repeat the PDCA
Other than that, I consider no one is a failed investor, well, that includes me,... For I am also NOT a "successful" investor,... For my last year DIY returns is alot lesser than most people.... Not even better than fd..
But what the heck,.. I don't need to touch that money for another 5 yrs, currently debt free n hv passive income last till I die.
Thus what I just posted may not suits all......
Just Consider it as a posting made while waiting for my caffeine fixes

Hi,

Assuming everything is the same, can I safely say that revenue (capital growth, dividend) generated from ETF (example KLSE FTE) would be lower than if I were to buy all individual stocks listed in that ETF? Since an ETF is supposed to just track an index and not outperformed it?
*
hmm.gif if you buy ALL stocks individually,...will individual buying cost (like for example, stamp duty, broker commission fees, clearing fees, buying fees, etc, etc) if ALL added up will it be more expensive than just buy and ETF?

Hi friends.
Does anyone noticed price movement of "INTERPAC DANA SAFI" fund for past 2 weeks within (0 to 0.01%) eventhough some of its top holdings performed decently past 2 weeks after a sharp vertical fall last month.
I'm little worried with recent price change (almost no price change).
Anything wrong with that fund?
*
oops.gif sorry did not answers your query....

but just add on to the "mystery"
thumbup.gif yes you are correct to point out the little/none NAVs movement of IDS
i also noticed that, IDEF has just a little more NAVs movement than IDS while both of them had almost similar (high correlation of) asset exposures....

hopefully they are just an coincident that the NAVs does not move much......
hopefully with the lists of asset they held,...someone interested (like you who had some $$ inside it) can do the computing of the individual stocks to try to figure it out or just call interpac to ask?

Yea bro I saw this before u shared but I don't know how to see the return. Do i look at annualised return or calendar year return? I saw this one that said 6% return https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/inve...nflation-climbs but i don't see it in the sheet.

And I wonder if the return is usually higher than ASN?
*
i think, need to find out
the date of that actual interview (not the date of publication) and
when is the period (the from when to when) he made that reference of 6% performance...
is that 6% just an absolute number NOT yet MINUS management fees etc etc?

Yes I know, but the question is how? Ever since this new UI I didn't perform topup for MP. Couldn't find where to topup existing MP.
*
perhaps you can try goto the Managed portfolio interface,...then click GOTO, then select BUY,...then a new form will be displayed...

the attached image is just try,...but did not finish the transaction

try it out and tell us the story about it?

Hi all, seek advise.

https://www.kwsp.gov.my/member/investment (see list of appointed FMI)

My fund (through FSM), Affin Hwang Aiiman Asia (ex Japan) Growth Fund - MYR Class was in suspended status for 2022/2023, other Affin Hwang funds for me is not attractive if switching out.

Should I sell all and buy other AxJ fund?

Thanks.
*
not a qualified comment,...but just an observation...

i think suspended,...means cannot do additional top up into that fund,....most probably due to "compliant to "shariah" issues...
which means you can still hold it...

do you liked that fund?...if yes,...can still continue to hold of to it....
if you wanted to increase your allocation to Asia X japan...you will have to get another fund to supplement the % allocated into that Affin Hwang Aiiman Asia (ex Japan) Growth Fund - MYR Class

How do dividends work in unit trust funds?
........
However, dividends are not returns on your investment.

So, what happens when your unit trust pays dividends?
......
Each time your unit trust fund pays out your dividend, the Net Asset Value (NAV) of each of your units will decrease accordingly.
