You'll always hold bond/fixed income, because you'll hold more as you approach retirement and beyond it as you glide down your risk from equity exposure.

Well unless you can hold it in another platform that doesn't charge, then that will obviously be wiser  laugh.gif

Not ALL bond funds in FSM has platform fees.
There are no platform fees in other channels.

just get some % into a port if you liked the % of allocation in its invested countries and as for past experience.......at times the ROI is very low even after few years....
*
Oh, so apparently this fund targeted countries of Far East (China, etc.) So not much differences with my other China fund.

Actually I'm looking for a fund with global exposure as currently all my funds are local and Asia ex Japan.

Any recommendations? Can be either equity or balanced.

Hi Sifus,

Noob question here: Although FSM is regulated by SC, how safe is our investment? Can FSM 'disappear' overnight?

QUOTE(MUM @ Aug 11 2021, 05:14 PM)
from their FAQs

1. What happens if FSMOne ceases as a business concern?
In the unlikely event that FSMOne ceases as a business concern, with your permission, all your assets registered under iFAST Nominees Sdn Bhd will be transferred to another Institutional Unit Trust Advisers (IUTA) or they will be returned to you.

2. When I buy funds from FSMOne, in whose name will the units be registered under?
For cash investments, all units will be registered under iFAST Nominees Sdn. Bhd. For EPF Account 1 investment, they will be registered in your names. All units are segregated from the company’s assets.

Thanks for the FAQs. Just that I don't recall the same was stated in the contract when we buy a fund.

On transferring to another IUTA, I guess it will be a major hassle with all different policies and rules, charges, fees, etc...

QUOTE(Drian @ Aug 12 2021, 06:33 PM)
Your investment will still be there but no one to do the management selling of units , transfer of account to you.
Have to transfer to another party to do the management portion.
*
Oh, because our fund is actually parked at the specific Fund House, and not FSMOne right? hmm.gif

QUOTE(TOS @ Aug 12 2021, 08:35 PM)
As an iFAST shareholder, I can tell you it is quite safe for now. Quite unlikely to "disappear" overnight unless you guys withdraw huge amount of money overnight at once.

It does not owe any FI or bank any money, in net cash position, and business is highly profitable. You can check iFAST's financials from time to time.

If anything goes wrong, I will be the one who is affected first with plunging share price. tongue.gif

Glad to hear from the shareholder himself. And thanks for sharing the financial details.

Hehe 200+% return. My most successful investment to date.

The founder, Mr. Lim Chung Chun is a Malaysian for your info. So I don't think it is in his interest to see Malaysia's FSM business having any problems.

You are right!

QUOTE(TOS @ Aug 12 2021, 11:16 PM)
FSMOne is a business unit under iFAST. You can only buy the whole company's stock, as iFAST does not list its Malaysia operation separately.

You can buy its share on SGX (Singapore exchange) via your broker.
