Could someone please recommend me a REIT fund? Those listed in FSM page may not as 'real-life'!

All UT are not real-life. If you want real life, the only one is ETF. It's real time. The price changes every second. If you really want,
- Nikko Asia ex Japan REIT ETF
- Phillip SGX APAC Dividend Leaders REIT ETF

These are among ETF reit listed on SGX. But there's a catch. 17% with holding tax.
SG reits but as mentioned previously have properties which are overseas (depending on the reits). A few examples:
1) Frasers logistics - A pure Australian reit but listed in SG in SGD
2) Manulife US reit - A pure US reit but listed in SG in USD
3) Ireit global - A pure EU reit eit but listed in SG in SGD
4) Lippo malls - A pure indon reit but listed in SG in SGD
5) Mapletree Greater China - HK + china region reit but listed in SG in SGD

The above example shows that these reits are more influenced by their respective country rather than SG alone.

These are some examples off the top of my head.

However, majority of manulife holdings are S-reits which own SG property so you are half correct here.  tongue.gif  biggrin.gif

Thanks but we don't have these in FSM, do we?

No. This is because of some "regulations" impose by our govt to limit us to buying foreign ETF in Malaysia. The only way to get access to those reit ETF is open a brokerage account in SG/US and buy directly. If buy from Malaysia, higher commission + dividend fees + possible maintenance fee.

I see...too bad then. Not thinking of opening a brokerage account in SG. Was thinking to purchase from FSM Malaysia tho.

You cannot buy anymore. You can only sell.

But can I still buy when someone sells his unit?

Also, how long can I keep my unit after the fund is closed?

Excerpt from FSM website:

A:
Only bond funds with sales charges previously will incur the platform fees. Bond funds that are already at 0% sales charge will not incur the platform fees.

Question: The bond fund I bought was without sales charge. Why would I still being charged platform fees?

I believe it should be construed as
1. Only bond funds with sales charges previously --> has a sales charges of x% before 20 September 2013, will incur platform fees;
2. Bond funds that are already at 0% sales charges --> already selling at 0% before 20 September 2013, will not incur platform fees
*
Oh, ok thanks.

Looks like everyone is kelam kabut now as we are receiving the tax invoice for platform fees.

Perhaps FSM could do something before everyone shifts to eunittrust?

Hi,

Recently I'm looking at TA European Equity Fund (recommended fund) and my investment goal is long term.

Do you think this is a good buy considering the political and financial situations in Europe?

Please advise.

I saw that there are a lot of bonds under the 'Bond' tab. Can we buy them through FSM?

Q6. How do I buy bonds online?
A. Go to the menu bar, and select Transaction >> Buy Bonds to buy bonds. For MGS purchase, just click on MGS on the menu tab.
https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/fsm/bonds/faq
depends on what you want.....

you can buy M'sia equity fund at 0%SC from the fund house that you wanted to buy into a non Malaysia equity fund.
example, buy into a Malaysia equity fund from CIMB at 0%SC, then later switch it into a CIMB Asia Pac equity fund.

or
buy a 0%SC Malaysia fund then switch to bond fund later to earn credit points then use them for later.

Thanks!

Contacted FSM but they have no clue as well!
