How can I find out the, portion I switch from,Kenanga growth to bond fund value? A few years ago,I did a switch ....

So, switching it back to growth fund I won't subject to sales charge, right? But, how do I checked that portion ?
*
Q: How do I know the usage of credit and available credits ?
A: To view your credits that had been utilized, go to MY INVESTMENTS> VIEW HOLDINGS> BY FUND NAME, then click ‘Historic Transaction’ at the bottom of holding page.

You are able to view available credits in your holding page (see attached image) as well as during Intra-Switching steps.

just a note of caution:
Q: What will happen if I switch more than the available credit?
A: If you switch more than the available credits, tier charge will be applied as per usual. The credit remains to be utilized for future switch transactions.

Schroder is expecting it to be 4.29% by end of next year, thus I think they are investing with that in mind already....

Well I am partially confused with the link you gave there. I was in United Japan Discovery Fund - MYR Hedged since last year February but there is no record of 42.32% profit. My portfolio only shows a mere 7%. Have I overlook something?
*
that is what the charts says.....
since you have it since Feb last year till now and if it shows so much lesser....Can you check with FSM? maybe it can help correct mistakes on variance?...then tell us notworthy.gif

btw,...the UOB website obtained factsheet shows a lot of ROI for that period too......
hmm.gif wondering why yours is so little at a mere 7%?

Any review of east spring danasti.. recently really drop much.. DCA or just move out
*
I think there was an almost similar post by you before.......
I think it ends with....to DCA, hold or move out is an individual choice, bcos it has other factors to consider too....
ex,
your current allocation in that regions, is it still within your initial plan or are you feeling hot/numb to current happenings?
do your need for some monies to be used for other things in the coming months?
do you still have faith in UT as a investment vehicle?
etc,.

just to add abit more.
if you trust FSM, goto this to see the star rating...
https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...tarRatings.svdo

use the FSM Chart center to see how this fund are doing relatives to the other peers

call up FSM CIS for some serious evaluation on your risk profile.

if in doubt,...best is stay put for a while......check out ASN FP funds.....use the money intended for top up into UT to buy into ASN FP funds.
maybe you will find that ASN FP suits you more than UT as a asset growing vehicle.

just do take note of your desired % of allocation for that region/country/sector.....
one might unintentionally over buy or over allocate thus might become an emotional burden.

That's what I'm saying, Fundsupermart should also revise the rating based on the volatility on monthly factsheet. Some new members might just base on that fundsupermart pages without going through the details.  dry.gif
*
I think they cannot every month change as per performance..... the FSM risk rating are kind of "fixed".....the Max for bond is 5 ....which is specially allocated for bonds focusing on sub grade corporate bonds

Then yesterday, FSM came out with this article.....

Everyone is Worrying about the 3% US 10-year Treasury Yield
April 27, 2018
Concerns about the trade war appear to have eased, at least for the moment, but that does not make investors worry-free.
Recently, the markets have shifted their attention towards rising US interest rates.

Yup the UOB ones seems right. Because I have top up during the highest and it dropped that time. So to be average it is around 7%. Just that I am wondering why in FSM it shows 38.64% per year.  rclxub.gif
*
the performance shown in the chart from FSM is not same as the chart from the UOB fund factsheet?

you bought in FEb 2017,.....
Feb 2017 till end Jan 2018....it goes up abt 50%
unless you top up alot of % at the peak,...it should not be just 7%
bcos assuming the peak 2 Feb till 15 Apr 2018 drop abt 4% only

did you top up a lot of % over the original value?
(over 5x the over the original value?)

Hi Capt,

I don't want to buy and sell often as I am not really pro in investing.
but I am just wondering how the fund works?

I remembered seeing the fund will take the profit and re-invest into the fund annually.
i think you refer those activities as dividend distribution....
some funds will not have dividend distribution....

So my profit won't increase, but the units I hold for that particular fund will increase, is that correct?
Yes, after you got the extra units, you just have to wait for the fund NAV to rise....with each rise of NAVs, your "profits" will rises too because you have extra units.

https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...?articleNo=8510

What I am worrying about is, if i kept on buy, hold, and repeat for 10 years.
Would I be seeing what is happening today? all red? my profit fluctuate and in the end, I might even making loses?
YES, there is a possibility of that....

UNIT TRUSTS MUST BE HELD FOR LONG?

Short-term investors profit from accurately determining the volatility of short-term market conditions and capturing the opportunity to buy and sell. In the contrary, long-term investors can afford to wait longer and not be influenced by short-term volatility. However, it does not mean investors can enter the market randomly. Some people, in fact, mistake long-term investment as long-term holding and believe they only need to buy and hold unit trusts with outstanding track history selected from markets or sectors they favour.

Like stocks, unit trusts require regular analysis of performance and various factors. It does not mean one has to hold a unit trust forever; investors can switch it with another unit trust whenever they deem necessary. In the event of conditions affecting a fund’s performance such as inadequate resilience, poor performance in down markets, underperforming returns in up markets and changes in management, etc., investors can consider switching the unit trust. Investors should also note other crucial factors contributing to mid- and long-term returns like stability, volatility and extensiveness.

Apart from tapping into the better-than-benchmark returns, investors can diversify risks and vary asset and geographical distribution as well through unit trusts that invest in global share markets and different types of assets.

Of course, we understand how difficult it is to choose an ideal unit trust from the many choices available in the market, therefore, in addition to conducting thorough and strict evaluations before putting a unit trust on the shelf, our FSM Research Team also finely selects unit trusts based on a set of funds selection methodology to compile the annual Fundsupermart Recommended Funds, which is available on our website for investors’ reference.

hmm.gif some interesting data on duration of impact.... brows.gif

Markets Won’t Stay Down For Long
The street is overwhelmingly bearish if the opposition wins. We are on the contrary, bullish.
Any new government will want to generate confidence for the market and overall population.
This fading of uncertainty should bring investors back to the market.

Ultimately, we think markets will end up higher in less than a month than pre-election with this new government – barring any unforeseen global macro overhang and a smooth transition of power is achieved.
We take comfort in the fact that major regime changes in overseas markets only had short-term negative impact to their respective markets.

The Thai military coup of 2014 drove out foreign investors but strong domestic liquidity boosted the market for a full recovery within 6 days.
The correction from Brexit only lasted 3 trading days.
Similarly, the impact from Donald Trump winning the US presidency lasted just 3 hours.
The unfavourable referendum for Italian PM Matteo Renzi only had a 3 minute negative effect.

Which one’s better?
There’s no “better” choice as it depends on your risk profile and investment objectives.
ETFs can be a good choice if you think you’ve got the expertise to navigate the world of stocks on your own and you’re seeking market performance.
If you’re just starting out or don’t have the time to manage your investments and prefer to leave it to the experts, then unit trusts, which may offer potentially higher market returns, could be a more suitable option for you.
