I'm just hoping only announced X570 is so expensive.
I cannot brain if all x570 are so expensive
*
if the useful x570 boards are really such high priced then just get a nice x470 if you don't need pci-e 4..

btw so should i go b450 or x470 ?

*
if your going for ryzen 3000 that depends on the model you're eying. However, I'd recommend to wait for comparisons (X570 vs 470 vs B450) which should be coming late July or early August.
AMD has strict restrictions on releasing updates for older boards until July 7th and so far only MSI is working around those restrictions by calling their releases Beta despite them being pretty final.

QUOTE(llk @ Jul 4 2019, 06:13 PM)
The thing is i planned to buy 3900X and Asus C8H, RRP of the CPU is USD499 (Around RM2100 direct converted) plus the motherboard estimated around RM1500 so the total damage would be around RM3600. But i was told the price of the CPUs should be RRP X 5 when reached locally, looking at the revealed price tags in some of the countries such as Taiwan and China look like 3900X will be gonna RM2500 at least.
*
your waterway alone is more in difference of price brows.gif

I think 2500 is still pretty decent for the 3900x and the performance price ratio is better than of most other chips.
I paid 2550 to pre-order mine.

I'm afraid 1500 might not be enough for the c8h as well. Lets see what (day after) tomorrow brings and where those prices end up.

If that is the case,  Amazon or Newegg then
*
Amazon, and 2550 is including express shipping and import taxes.
Warranty is 0 issue with amazon as long as your're the receiver.

X570 I'll get in here for sure, SIRIM is a joke 😂wink.gif

just fyi, amazon just now adjusted prices
model euro myr (exclusive shipping & taxes)
3900x 438.76 (459.11 before) 2043.18
3800x 388.33 1808.34
3600x 262.03 1220.20
3600 216.32 1005.99

maybe that'll be reflected in local prices, too.

They should have it, but I think they cannot release the pricing because under NDA hmm.gif

Even Idealtech has posted a picture of X570 board on Facebook yesterday hmm.gif
*
Lets see local suppliers will really have all cpus starting Sunday or rather Monday.

Pictures of motherboards should be no problem, they just can't power it up and disclose that.

However... in few other countries asrock boards are already being delivered to customers though. Refer this x570 taichi rolleyes.gif

yup, no prices on ace meg, c8h yet. aorus master should be 1599 on launch

my personal guess would be the ace meg at 1599 likewise and the c8h either 1699 or even 1749

*
just keep your c6h for a while and wait for prices to level off (given they release a bios agesa 1.0.0.3 update in time)

anywhere I can borrow a last gen ryzen to update the b450 motherboard that I have bought?
*
either you follow the amd kit recommendation you received yesterday by some other member,
or you visit a local pc store and see what they charge for updating your bios on the spot.

just out of interest, theres quite some boards with bios flashback available. why haven't you bought one of these?
B450m mortar for RM381 for example.

Gaming doesn't look like anything much to shout about. Maybe only games that is very sensitive to IPC.
*
few other interesting observations actually

1) memory latency issue was worked on, but still way behind intel there. (edit: if you just look at the aida64 latency which doens't include cache they have not improved at all, quite a disappointment there)
2) check the temps of the 3900x, even if you compare it to the 9900k it's running way too hot
3) gaming performance really doesn't justify buying a 3900x over a 3700x

3700x really seems to be the sweet spot of amd's offering.
we shall see in 48 mins when other reviews pop up.

but so far this one is the first one one can use to draw actual conclusions

inter-ccx 70ms,... hrm.
the prices are better than expected.
however I expected more of the 3000 series itself with OC behavior and latencies

Any difference between 3800x and 3700x? Better binned? Less heat?
*
no single review of the 3800x as of now which I know of.
maybe better binned but totally not worth it for sure judging current evaluations of pbo or even general overclocking capabilities.
go with the 3700x if it's between those two.

edit: according to roman (der8auer) ALL CPU's (3600,3600X,3700X,3800X,3900X(,3950x which he can't disclose)) he tested are between 4.2 and 4.3Ghz all core.
for single core:...
3900X: 4500 max and 4400 typical
3800X: 4450 max and 4400 typical
3600X: 4400 max and 4400 typical

that's below the advertised max. clock for all of those which is 4600,4500, and 4400)'

given anyone wonders how the 3800x is performing
Reddit Link
Glad having bought the 3700x.

Now lets wait for the 3950x and how much of a downside iCCX proves to be.
Then decide by late 2019 if it's worth upgrading to one.

Even the latest G.Skill 3600 @ CL14 dare to go up to 1.4 V only.
