they using Titan X Pascal. seems like you may get better result out of dx12 games with AMD gpu + Ryzen. something with Ryzen still being new and game developers/AMD/Nvidia has yet to optimize their code to take advantage of Ryzen.
I'm actually surprised to see that there's performance gap when on GTX 1060 and RX 480,

Going through the details, they're running at 720p with lowest quality details - wth, when you do that, the CPU performance gap will be apparent.

I respect them for their test methodology but I don't think they should do that, in fact it actually makes it look worse as many people (unfortunately) just assumes that the Ryzen setup is bad immediately.

I feel that they should just run Full HD and max out the details, at least that's what I'm doing.

Oh well, looks like I'm going to do some tests similar to that but with GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580.

Test at 720p to compare a cpu ipc performance at gaming, coz not everyone can accept ryzen cincai, they want the best gaming CPU without lost any 1% performance, just OSDer. =w=

Truth that ryzen IPC is lose to i7 7700k, even a i7 6900k which can OC 4.3 and above. Tats why ryzen also slower in Photoshop =w=
Don't have to run at 720p low details to see that BUT it's exaggerating the matter.

GTX1080TI SLI on 7700k and ryzen  @ 4k gaming

<insert_video>
See, that's exactly what I've been telling people.

With high-end GPU you will see that the Ryzen lacks the power to push it

BUT

it's limited to certain games only, AND the gap diminishes at higher resolution and / or lower range graphics card.

CPU-Z doesn't read it well.

All my Ryzen setup reads 1.55vcore. biggrin.gif

Is it worth 7700k to 1700 using for gaming and web browsing
Rasanak kembali ke amd sebab dah ada ddr4
I've replied to your thread - nope, not worth it.

The Ryzen series processors are great IF you do processor intensive stuff but for gaming they're not any better than Intel.

Even at AMD's own event which is the Ryzen Tech Day - they not once said Ryzen floors Intel processors, at most they compare to those similar priced and assuring that they can keep up to speed for the most part.

You can't rely on the AMP stuff.

Just load the AMP, then go in set the speed, the timing and the voltage manually.

CPU-Z will be able to report your memory speed.

Stock cooler is beefy. Can handle light OC. Use it first until you can get the bracket. Stock cooler is also RGB as well.
*
Ehhh no, can handle high OC also. Not for Ryzen 7 1800X of course because temperature reading what not are really off.

I am using stock cooler on Ryzen 5 1500X at 4Ghz.

I've also overclocked Ryzen 3 to high clocks on stock cooler too, just amazing!

RGB model only for Ryzen 7 though, Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 are non RGB models.

yeah cheers.gif  ... those were the time - OC really increase the performance by a lot.  Now OC mainly just incremental performance boost.

The performance in real world applications are pretty significant once you overclock.

smile.gif Benchmarks, you'll see some but once you do video rendering like 4K there's quite a significant time shaved.

Take out your graphics card, re-seat it. See how it goes. Remember to plug the power if graphics card requires.

Your Ryzen 3 clocks are interesting to me. Most people on air only get about 4.1ghz at best. I wonder how much you get. Perhaps you got the newer B2 stepping version.
*
Ryzen processors generally damn difficult to reach 4Ghz, even reach also not worth.

You get as good a performance on 3.8Ghz.
