I think it is subjective that you wont notice. Sometimes you upgrade GPU n get those minimum gains, so getting them just by changing ram speed is something imo.
Overrated, I didn't say there's no gains, it's just overrated.
This means that people having baseless expectations that by going from 2400 to 2666 they'll see a huge gap in performance. The truth isn't so simple.
I've done 2133 vs 3000 myself and haven't seen 10fps boost, and even if anyone did it's not on all games. It just helps Ryzen system in pushing GPU.
The only time I see good gain is 2133 to 3000 gaining a few seconds on video encoding, but that aside going from 3000 to 3333, or just tightening of timings by a little - they make one feel good, score benchmarks a little higher but other than that real world performance is not what many people see.
Again the keyword is overrated, not that it doesn't work. Same like how one would say a dish is good, but it's overrated.
problem is mobo only detec 2133Mhz of my RAM while the true value is 2666Mhz, i checked the QVL and its not listed. so should i sell this stick and get a compatible version for my mobo?
1. As long as stable, no need to change. 2. Not part of QVL doesn't mean won't work 3. Load XMP, and if it still doesn't work then you can manually set the timings and speed to 2666.
Thinking of trying an ITX build. Any good AM4 ITX motherboard to recommend? I think quite limited choice here in Msia - I can see maybe only ASROCK X370 ITX and Gigabyte AB-350M. Thanks.
For ASRock I recommend going the AB350. It's the one I'm using for my Ryzen ITX build.
Hitting the 4Ghz is only for benchmark, or finding out the yield.
Long term use, I don't recommend because the vcore bump is a lot higher compared to 3.8Ghz range and doesn't offer significant boost in performance even on high load.
AMD might just hit another jackpot for Ryzen if GPU price keep shooting, people with tight budget could opted for this APU instead of buying a discrete gpu.
At least can play game for a bit la.
Works fine for CS:GO and such.
You look at the gameplay available for the old APU, also quite alright for less demanding games.
Those of you intending to use the AMD Ryzen APU, just make sure your board comes with video output connectors on the board or your will not be able to use the integrated VEGA GPU.
