QUOTE(radical85 @ May 14 2007, 03:49 AM) 2 main reasons.1. Your smell will be on the babies.. the female hamster might get confused so she'll eat them. 2. If you keep touching, the female will feel threatened. In the wild, they would rather eat up their offspring of nutrition rather than letting predators have it. |

QUOTE(harukotsuchiya @ May 17 2007, 12:25 AM) Is it just a nip or really bite(as in teeth sink into your skin until got blood)down? hahaha.. I guess it's normal for hamsters to nip lor. Just tasting you a bit. If bite arr.. means NAUGHTY! or something like that.. not so tamed lor. Slowly slowly let your hammi get used to you. |

QUOTE(erikachen @ May 19 2007, 05:54 PM) I just got a pair of male robos from "Blurkia" (the guy from adoption thread) Well most hamsters don't like to be carried like that. But yes you can carry any hamster that way as long as it's not showing any signs of struggle but only for a short while. They are very super duper cute but very notti oso >.< one of them bite me wan... like nipping my finger tot is food >.< Seriously they are very hard to handle, cant even catch them up and play... move really fast. When I put on my hand, I so scared it will fall down..!! Sumore they like to climb the cage upwards and then fell down!! (= =) keep doing that!! I so sakit hati put a lot of wood shavings to protect them from the fall.... hope they go fat fat then can squuuueeezzzeee a bit Added on May 19, 2007, 6:54 pmI found this picture from the web... just curious.. can we actually carry the hamsters (any breeds) like that? They are not cats rite? Wont it hurt them a lot?? >.< [attachmentid=234188] |

QUOTE(dazzle @ May 20 2007, 08:59 AM) friend, you're surprised and i'm confused.1 more thing want to share with u all. I found that 1 of the pet shop doing the breeding of the syrian and robos. i saw the syrian mama got alot of baby proximately about 25 babies in a case. This is impossible for the syrian to give birth some many babies. Than I ask the breeder, he told me the syrian is nanny for 20 of the babies out of 25. So I ask him how u do this. Is easy just change all the bedding and food in the case. This will do for the nanny to look after all the babies. I,m so surprise on this. |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ May 21 2007, 08:55 PM) Sigh, I came back from Pet Family.... see.. told you they named it panda hamster. I saw it and i was like ---> O.o ????Panda Hamster indeed.... rubbish name. They are not even black and white. They are just mottled Russian Campbells... not even black and white also. Either Agouti or Argente or black.... The name is just a name to attract customers only. The colour is not even what a panda hamster should look like too. This is why, better don't buy from petshops.... they sell them in wrong colours and sometimes wrong species also. |
