QUOTE(jason86 @ Jun 11 2007, 12:28 PM) cos the fat 1 is tat 1 always being bully by teh other.......haiz.........now i separate them d.......... Well it's always better to separate them. Hamsters are nocturnal and they might only fight at night when you're asleep so you might never see them fight at all until one day one of them gets seriously injured. Please separate them to be 100% safe.

Oh just go for one of the standard setups you can find on the first page.
Get a 1.5ft tank. You can burn 3 holes on the tank using hot nail (heat the nail on the stove) to put the water bottle. The wheel you can get any standing wheel in petshops. Toys very simple, can use toilet roll or empty tissue box also can. Food bowl you can just buy any small ceramic bowl.

Oh.. LOL... nezu used it to make for her gerbils. Erm.. depending lor.. but you can't make big ones because hamster can't jump up or jump from high places to the ground. So it's not really necessary. Toilet rolls are still the best toy. You can also get some jam jars or candy jars to let them play.

As a matter of fact if you read some books, they'll clearly state that hamsters are happier living alone than with a 'friend'.

QUOTE(locco81 @ Jun 12 2007, 08:14 AM) yup, I bought pair...male and female that picture is the male one...he likes the big2 kuaci Added on June 12, 2007, 8:15 ambought him at the mall, kl Well just in case you don't know la (you might know alrd), don't just let them eat too much kuaci, bad for their health. You go check kuaci cholesterol contents quite high if i'm not mistaken.

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Jun 21 2007, 01:35 AM) Hamsters, especially the dominant ones hate it when you place fingers at the cage bars.... they also dislike people putting fingers in front of their face. Natural instinct make them bite. Always offer the back of your hand or a fist for a hamster to smell first and then only pick it up. Must understand, hamster got poor eye sight and they mostly act on instinct. Hamsters can only see clearly at things 6cm in front of them, further than that or things right in front of their faces they cannot see. Hahha.. hamster's eyes not like ours. No autofocus function.

QUOTE(liez @ Jun 22 2007, 11:22 PM) Just wanna ask... I got this problem...Is not a big ones...but a stupid one... After advices from Hunz...I bought habitrail pet food for these ww... Firstly I place the plate at ground floor...then the mother go push all the wood shaves into the plate....wood shaves cover the food...will they eat??? coz whole day they didn't eat...I am like =.= u guys wasted my money.... then i go get a new plate so to put new foods into it and palces it at 1st floor...the mother and daughter comes up and eat some of them...I noticed one thing...they only choose kuachi(sunflower seedz) to eat...others throw one side.... Do you have experiences on this|? lastly...I am the owner for nearly one week...the daughter still afraid of me one???whenever I wanna catch her she run like hell. Erm.. 1 week is still short, give it more time. It took me 1 month+ to tame a hamster. And the food, yes, hamsters prefer kuaci but it's fattening for them. Bad for their health if taken too much. If there's small nuts for them to eat then it's alright. Although they kick the bedding in its normal, they'll dig the food up themselves later. They are afterall rodents with their acute sense of smell. They'll find food anywhere they can reach.
