people complaining on workmanship and not the products.
1 people complain
and 1 people say satisfied.

that link does not justify anything.

Hi guys need your help i am getting a new car soon so planning to install solar tint. under consideration is vkool elite. problem is my mom's car which i am driving now also has vkool (which i think is the lower end vkool not elite version) and my n95 gps has problem keeping a lock on the signal. smart tag also noticeably slower to register.

Anybody got experience with using gps and smart tag with vkool elite? i was told that vkool elite will not block gps signal as much as the lower end vkool. true? any recommendation suitable for both gadgets? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

vkool elite is fine with smart tag but my gps can't work with it (takes forever to lock and inconsistent).

Yep. So better ensure you get what you wanted. I was careless.

I ended up paying RM400 for the RM1k 'package'.

End up with 4 side windows tinted, but:

1. 30% front tinted. Not full.
2. No rear tinting.

Feel so pissed with the SA in the Proton branch next to LDP now...

For those new JB nhc owner like me who is interested to get your new car tinted with 3M:

I had contacted 3M malaysia, they reverted that there is not a single authorized dealer in JB to do the tinting.

But they can send ppl down to install for you when there are more than 5 cars needed the service. He said other than me, there are other jb car owner also enquiry about the 3M tint. If when they hit enough quota, they can send ppl down to install.

The salesperson also told me they are planning to setup a service centre for 3M car tint in JB next mth. If it is really setup, next time we can go there for tinting also. Even it is not setup, you can still use the above option.

He advised that currently those agent or so who do 3M car tint in JB ARE NOT authorized dealer. They just get the 3M tint from elsewhere and just claim that they are authorized dealer.

So advantage of contacting 3M to install is better, because you are guaranteed that the product is genuine. To prevent yourself from being cheated with fake tint or so....

Hope it helps for those who are interested in 3M tint. smile.gif

u can do the same by calling the 3M hotline...........

Seems like things are pretty quite in this thread. I'm also looking for a tint company and a bit confused about what to get. Anyone has an idea what's the best tint available, preferably a security tint?

You can try 3M Crystaline 50 (CR50). It's dark, 50% VLT and quite good solar heat rejection

I have personal experience with V-Kool (2 cars), Rike Cool (1 car) and ayam brand (1 car). V-Kool beats Rike Cool hands down for heat rejection, my 3+ year old V-Kool on my black Toyota was still slightly cooler than the brand new Rike Cool on my blue Pug. But yes both have problems with GPS and SmartTAG. My conclusion is that good tints will always block GPS and SmartTAG signals.

V-Kool Elite is roughly RM2000 at Tint Shop for a standard sedan. Anyone have better deals? Good as it is, I don't wanna spend 2k on an old Accord CB...
