QUOTE(lightbringer @ Mar 8 2010, 01:50 AM) Whenever I park my car under the sun light for a long time, it is always freaking hot when I try to enter my car back. Hot to the point that I can't even touch the steering, need to open all the door and cool down the car for at least 5 minutes before I can enter. Would tinting the window be the way to go? I only care for heat reduction, don't care about darker shade at all. if you don't want any shade or security tint at all, you might want to consider KristalBond. its quite expensive. but the heat rejection is superb. they have demo glass by using spot light. for normal glass u can feel the heat instantly but for KristalBond, no heat at all. the only color that they have is blue, green and clear.

I hear some people say that tinting the rear window is bad, as there's heating over there. Is that true or just a myth? And do you guys tint the entire front window or just quarter of it?

hi all, i just got my saga today and realised the tint is Consultint whereas salesman recommended my TintMaster. When I asked, he said Consultint heat rejection better (85%). Is it normal for a warranty card to be so plain? Nowhere does it say - security film, etc. I was promised security film, etc. Comments appreciated.

I just spent an hour reading all 14 pages and still undecided. It looks like the "best of breed" currently is EcoTint Ray Barrier, V-Kool Elite and KristalBond. I still don't know what to think of 3M and Huper since there's a bit of mixed reviews on these.
I'm kinda partial now on Ray Barrier as it sounds really good, but very worried for the fact that it's actually not compliant to JPJ and Puspakom. So, if that is a concern, then KristalBond is good as it's pretty good at filtering heat without removing visible light. Decisions, decisions...

What brand? And what kind of tint will they install on the front and back windows? For security tint, need to know how thick it'll be.

I believe it's called Tintmaster: http://tintmaster.com.my/product_T-Diamond_black.htmlProblem I had when I got my car from the Proton salesman: Only 25% of the front window was tinted. I was expecting full. No tinting at all for rear window. This post has been edited by SweetPuff: Mar 23 2010, 05:06 PM

Hi guys i just tinted my 4 year old waja this monday.. i tell you .. those guys are meticulous... before the put the coating they took a almost 2 hours to ensure the windscreen / side windows is really clean before applying the tint/kristalbond. in fact almost whole day my car at the shop... now car is less warm when under the sun.. can touch steering even after whole day under sun.. of course interior still hot but faster to get cool.. ok lar.. if i got more money i'd probably put a film tint on top of kristalbond

Yep. So better ensure you get what you wanted. I was careless.
I ended up paying RM400 for the RM1k 'package'.
End up with 4 side windows tinted, but:
1. 30% front tinted. Not full. 2. No rear tinting.
Feel so pissed with the SA in the Proton branch next to LDP now...
