Locally not sure. I got my spare unit from eBay.

As for compatible pens, any Wacom AES pens from this gen should work (NOT EMR pens), which includes the NEW Dell AES pen, Yoga 14 pen (or any other Lenovo Pens INCLUDING the Miix 700 pen), HP Elite X2 1012 pen or Wacom's own Bamboo AES pen.

That said, the cheapest available on eBay was the Lenovo pens anyway so yeah.

So far Malaysian models have all gotten the Qualcomm chip, so I don't think it's gonna change in the KB refresh. Also, even the Qualcomm does Miracast/Chromecast at least, not to mention the fact that Intel has actually dropped support for WiDi in their latest drivers anyway.

Hello Everyone .... I'm just deciding on which Miix 510 to take...I have the budget to go for the i7 version but is it worth it ? i7 gets the LTE version right ? And does anyone know if the i7 version saves more battery than the i5 version ? Or is it better to go for the i5 version and I've seen someone mention about adapters and stuff. So what do I have to really buy for this Miix other than the battery for the pen tongue.gif

Thanks everyone. Have a great day smile.gif

Is 7th gen Kaby Lake available in i3 model?

I'm looking for the cheapest option to get in to the Miix, maybe 2 sets.

Also, is it suitable for children, i.e. not too fragile?

i7 is more powerful (duh lol) hence it actually has less battery life. It does have LTE though. As for accessories, I'd reckon you might need:

1) Type-C to HDMI adapter/Type-C USB hub (OR Type-C multi hub that has all of the former).
2) A pen loop (if you wanna use the Miix sans the keyboard cover a lot like me)
3) A laptop powerbank (with the appropriate tip, as Lenovo used a very peculiar AC adapter tip for the Miix)

And that's about it. Unless you also want upgrade the SSD to a 1TB NVMe drive, which is very much possible with the Miix (I'm running on a self-upgraded 512GB SSD myself right now).

I think you need to plug the monitor into the adapter FIRST before plugging it into the Type-C port, every time. Has worked OK when done that way for me so far.

Not sure whether I am allowed to mention it here :

I am thinking of selling my MIIX 510. Is there anyone who would like to buy off my LENOVO MIIX 510 from me.

Copying the specs from the box :
Intel Core i5-7200U 2.5gHz
On board.8G DDR4 2133 SSD 256G
Display 12.2 ' FHD IPS GL Touch
Battery 2 cell
WLAN WIFI 1x1 AC + BT 4.1 (i wonder what that means)
OS : Windows 10 Home

I bought on 20th April 2017. from Lenovo store itself in PJ Digital Mall. So I guess gerenti not a recond unit, nor a refurbished factory reject but ori .

Condition is 9.9/10. I like everything about it, the unit is perfect condition , no quality issues at all.
Comes with McAffee Internet Security expires in 20/4/2020.
(its complimentary from lenovo store)

and I myself have installed Microsoft Office home and student 2010. so it comes with that as well.
Unit comes with lenovo active pen, and spare AAAA batteries, charger, and lenovo wooven bag (its a small slot type soft bag-complimentary from lenovo)

PM me if you are interested , for more pictures and offer me a price. I bought it at RM3699. (please don’t offer too low ok....)
Terima Kasih

You'll get better responses if you posted this up on Garage Sales bro, though it's fine to mention here that you intend to sell.

Good luck selling anyway.

I try that it is still not success every time only occasionally work.
By the way, can you get output to 4k resolution when connect to tv?
I only can get 1080p max. Window complaint about max bandwidth limit to 1080p only. Im not sure it is due to miix 510 or my adapter problem.

This year i3 is still using Skylake, unlike i5 and i7

The cheapest of course is Miix 510 i3 model.
There's Miix 310 too, but meh... You better off buying China's cheap tablet. Also there's no stylus support.
But news mention that Lenovo going to come out with new Miix 320 with stylus support (Current miix 320 doesn't have stylus support)

Your children want to use Windows? Tablet biggest cons will be it's fragile screen, especially when screen size >10"
The cheapest model is 2.5K, don't think that's suitable for kids to play around. Better buy Android or Apple tablet.

Thanks for the tip on the 320.

I want them to learn coding so guess they'd benefit from a proper pc... Will keep thinking...

Bought a usb-c vga adapter via lazada but my miix can't seem to detect my external display.
How to know whether the adapter is faulty? Don't have the option of testing it with another usb-c device.
Any other advice?

Try connecting the VGA FIRST before the Type-C. If it still doesn't work, get another one coz it seems that the one you have might be DOA.

By spec the DisplayPort over Type-C (which the 510 HAS) should support VGA, as per here: https://goo.gl/6jaCbg
