My rattling sound came from the rear. Something like "trrr trrr" sound even before engine start, just when I shut the door.

Once I went and check myself, it somehow came from above the boot, just under the hook area behind the back seat. Idk lah. Pening d.
*
same problem. I think need to dissemble the hook area to check out which screw got loose. bangwall.gif

any tutorial around to dissemble the hook area? blink.gif

I see.. Did found Proton engine QC workmanship still siffer from various issues which required resend to SC. But overall ppl here are still happy with Saga experience, that's what i have read here

But personally kinda wired actually, if a car giving so many issues which bothering and time consuming to visit SC, why at the end ppl still happy with it?

Mind sharing ur opinion on this?

Coz.. Since now 0gst with additional discount, i get quoted best price 40k all in for premium+bodykit variant, seem really a good deal. Personally i also visit Proton and P2 showroom and compare with Bezza

Saga overall build quality is more solid than Bezza (Bezza still feel like Milo tin), FC of coz Bezza win but just a bit, and price for Saga was definitely most attractive for now compare with Bezza Adv 46K (additional 6k for touch screen, push start wasn't attractive to me, not necessary) but coming from as a P2 owner, P2 does have savings cost along the way especially on maintenance fee.
*
I am happy because I tested for Saga and Bezza before buying last year, and I felt even though bezza comes with better interior specs like, better dashboards as well as fuel consumption, saga is still a better to DRIVE.

Generally, I feel Saga is more solid and better in handling. In high speed driving, my Saga is still very stable and I hit 180KM/H once still no problem cool2.gif (don't learn me) lol

And I sit my colleague's Bezza at least once a week and I can tell you the bezza door feels less solid (can feel it when you close the door) and when turning you feel the car is not really as stable when compared to Saga.

Also, Saga is slightly bigger than Bezza for the passengers.

However, be in mind that :

- Bezza has better fuel consumption

- Bezza gives you better interior specs like better radio, press start button etc.

For me it's all about the drive and safety AND (I hate the ugly design of Bezza cool2.gif )

The only thing that pisses me off with the Saga is,

random noises from drawer / glovebox (faced by many people)

random noises from boot (quite a few people kena already)

random noises when driving over the bump (faced by most of the early batches)

these can be fixed by going SC or doing some DIY.

if you can bare with these problems, congrates, welcome to the GAGA family cool2.gif

what your purpose for buying this car?

is it to go to point A to point B (city car)?
is it  for fuel efficiency?
is it for higher interior quality?
is it for low cost maintenance?

if all of this, u want better go for NEW MYVI[B] but be warned, the new myvi suffered noise because of bad insulation but it can be reduce by doing autofoam or whatever the name is

type of people who want to buy saga has this condition

better handling car
stable at higher speed
bigger boot space
prefer going to long journey (balik kampung)

but remember, saga has few syndrome like rattling (i don't know about 2018 model) and CVT jerking at lower speed (35mph and below) unless u use manual, no feel jerking at all.

Good points made. rclxms.gif

before the update, i solved it with the aftermarket airfilter.
now with update, the throttle response is linear even without the aftermarket airfilter and was advised by the mechanic with the clutch reset / clutch warm up once a week.

question of the day is, how much will the fuel economy improve from there
*
How do you guys convince the SC to update the ECU for you?

If you are driving a cvt version, it's free to update and for all. Thus not require convincing.
*
I went servicing 20k today. Asked for ecu update. The technician said dont have update for saga vvt yet. Maybe different branches get the update slower. Sad

Ok plot twist, the front desk guy didnt know got update. Then after servicing he told me they updated for me. And I top up a bit for fully synthetic engine oil, now the car is super smooth, pick up never jerk now, accelerate from 60km/h to 110km/h also very smooth, no rubber band effect ( dunno isit the correct term). Really suggest you guys go for the free update. Tip top driving experience now

Anyone of you went for 30k service? The service center mentioned I have to do aircon flashing so that I won't void my warranty, is that true?
*
Use proton apps to check what service they will do for you at 30k. Anything other than the officially listed ones, is the SC trying to earn some money from you. You can reject those. If not, just call directly to Proton Care, complain about the branch, the branch will get into big trouble. Now with the Geely management, many SC are required to keep up a good customer service if not they will face the risk of closing.

Hi all, after update the ecu, what are the noticeable difference? Like flue consumption? Jerking issue gone?

I just updated mine but can't really feel the differences..
*
for me, same fuel consumption, but now when I pick up never delay like last time. Very good for pick up from T-junctions

Dear Sifus, i should be getting my new red saga exec soon. Please accept my humble greetings.

I have tinting  vouchers from raytech/windshield. Are they any good?

tongue.gif
*
raytech is very premium and expensive brand.
I don't want to spend too much on my car so i went other shop and did RM800++ pretty satisfied with it. cool2.gif

But if u willing to spend more on your tint, go for it. You pay what you get. Raytech is definitely better than mine (AirCool).

60km now , 2 bar dropped , 30km per bar at most.

i need wait 1000km only fuel consumption drop?
*
the bottom bars run out very fast, if u fill full, the first bar should last 70km to 100km depend on how you drive

Even with vvt the saga only gives around 11km to 12km/l for me,
Mine is already close to 4k milleage, i drive in 40percent highway, 60% in crawling traffic
*
Saga is quite fuel-consuming if compared to myvi/bezza/axia, sadly. cry.gif

So I viewed a Saga earlier today. Wanted to ask,

1) for the hand grips, normally got screw cover or not?
[attachmentid=10194145]

2) any reason for a proton emblem stamped into the door?
[attachmentid=10194146]

3) what is the reasons for the airbag stickers.
[attachmentid=10194147][attachmentid=10194148]

Thanks in advance.
*
1) no cover.
2) cosmetic purposes.
3) i think it is the air bag expired date, means when you reach the date, u must send in your car for airbag service/replacement.

Actually saga don't have eco mode, only have eco indicator showing your driving style is eco
*
I thought they factory tuned the ECU so that the car is more towards ECO than performance? Not sure if the CVT plays the bigger part in the lower pickup power though.

anybody use fully synthetic oil. i use fully synthetic on my 1st service. my next service is at 11k. I read comments on fb that should i service it earlier @ 8-9k. this is my 1st car, any advise?
*
Default one should be semi-synthetic, you should follow what the book says. Logical wise, fully should last longer than semi. 10k is totally fine for fully synthetic though.
