Canon colors warmer (even overly so) and look like puke under luminescent lighting

Sony (at least up to mk3) has its crazy shit blue and reds.

The autofocus thing is more towards tracking videos.

As for touchscreen.. its somewhat useful for reviewing photos but other than that, its just unnecessary cost imo.

Autofocus for the pic as well. We compared side by side. Our friend had the canon we had the sony. Sony tad a lil slow..and when take sselfie always cannto detect my face for the sony...LOL. I still like the blue tints of the Sony...thats why we bought it at the end of the day.
Well yea....but we got used to the touch screen on our previous sony and since the menu were kinda same we kept pressing the screen hoping for some kind of feedback...lol...

The Canon is the MkII right?

Anyway.. my own travel gear are my regular camera gear.

Recently travelled with Fuji X-E2 + 18-55mm + a bunch of lens inside check in luggage which I didn't use.

Or when with the kid... GF7 with 20mm f1.7 or 14mm f2.5 mounted in one pocket and 12-32mm on the other... if that trip also includes some time alone for myself... I'll bring the GX7 body as well.

Other than that... there's always the smart phone.

Ok let me rephrase...

If I travel for myself and I want to enjoy the process of taking photos more than the results tongue.gif .. then I will bring my Fujifilm gear.

If I travel with family and kids whereby I need quick autofocus, selfies, short videos then I will bring my panasonic m43 gear.

This consist of:

Panasonic GF7 camera body with wide angle lens and keep a zoom lens in the other pocket.

Size comparison with RX100 mkIII
http://j.mp/2jdSG5L

If I can do some hobby shooting, I will bring another bigger and more capable body ... the GX7 which uses the same lenses.

really appreciate all the inputs....

After reading all the comments, i think my budget only suitable for getting a point and shoot, but not mirrorless. That is what I looking for actually, as not really into studying how and what lens to change due to cost factor.

I used to travel with DSLRs, Nikon D7000 with a bunch of lenses, then moved over to Sony A7 and some lenses. Sold them off

Currently using only a Fuji XE2 and 35 f2. Pretty good pair for travel.

Fujifilm x70 are okay, compact aps-c camera, with screen that can tilt around and effective focal length of 28mm (wider than 35mm), F2.8 which is not that terrible for night shot, if want wider can get the converter, but to shoot far object that's the challenge, it's great street photography and general but not shooting far object.

It's my personal favorite compact camera, I love it to shoot in black and white, the jpeg itself very nice, no need to touch up if to upload to facebook sharing.

Fujifilm x70 series or X100S/T series is a good choice IMO. Pocketable and 23mm APSC focal length.

SX720 has a 1/2.3" sensor which is roughly the same as whats in most decent phones these days. The only advantage it has over a phone is that it zooms a lot. It's also got a very slow f/3.3 – f/6.9 lens. In comparison most phones are f2.2 or faster.

RX100 on the other hand has a 1" sensor. It's got no 4k, wifi, evf, pdaf, selfie screen like the latest versions but it does inherently takes pretty good photos and allows for growth if you get into the hobby.

Can't say if RX100 is still worth buying now (I'm still keeping mine) but for sure I won't get the SX720 tongue.gif

the panasonic TZ80 also has a 1/2.3" sensor, similar with the canon SX720. IMO, might as well shoot from your phone haha. less stuff to carry around, easier to share.

you can see the large difference between the 1/2.3" and 1" sensor in the pic posted by sniper above. more than 4x the area. Photos from the 1" are sometimes virtually indistinguishable from DSLR photos.

so for image quality, RX100 for sure. no wifi but you can get a toshiba flashair SD card for phone transfers smile.gif

BUT, the zoom range is not a wide as the TZ80. perhaps the sony HX90V is more comparable.

after digging some reviews on son HX90V, seems promising.

I did thought about getting a good camera phone eg Huawei P9. but the question 'does phone cameras better than 'a camera in terms of image quality(day n night)?' always pop in my head. Can share your view?

n camera phone usually has bad zoom image biggrin.gif
