mstr583, need further assistance.  icon_question.gif  I've downloaded and installed the Maploader into my Notebook. I've also updated the PCSuite in my Navi. Can you please show me, step by step, what I need to do next if I want to install the Penang Map.

"how to download Malaysian maps into my phone?"
1. download Nokia's Maploader
2. make sure you've run smart2go once on your phone before (to create the default folders)
3. connect your phone to your pc and use "pc suite" mode
4. run Nokia Maploader
5. choose Malaysia and press download
6. wait foe it to finish donwnloading
7. voila! Malaysian maps on your phone!
8. enjoy. smile.gif

384kbps is for 3G. HSDPA is more than that.

Thx a lot mstr583. Now I know why I can't run the Maploader cos' I've not run the smart2go after installing into my Navi. No wonder there was this msg " No folder found" when I ran the Maploader. Now that I have the smart2go in my Navi, could you pls. show me how to run the smart2go. TQ for your patience and indulgence. notworthy.gif

The video you saw, shows Malaysian roads?

I heard that Mapking is going to support maps for Symbian S60 soon, but not sure when the exact date would be.

Hey guys I'm about to get the Navigator in couple days time, so thought I might as well pop by this dedicated thread for 6110 enthusiasts.

My unit is gonna be an Aussie one, dont think got anything significantly different from Malaysian Avaxx/Zitron sets. Here no AP set anyway. I read on the cnet.com site they say the 6110 ships with mainly Singapore, Bangkok and Australian maps, is that true? this is in addition to the local maps of the country from which the unit was purchased. Maybe the ppl who already own the 6110 can clarify this? Another thing I have noticed is that there's been lots of questions about getting Malaysian maps onto the 6110. Is the Malaysian maps not at all pre-installed or is it lacking? In any case to get the Malaysian maps on the unit, this is what I gathered from reading the previous pages. Correct me if Im wrong k.

So first dl Smart2go from the website plus Maploader--->run and install the smart2go first on PC then on 6110 by USB---->open the smart2go on the mobile at least once---->run and install Maploader on PC then phone---->open Maploader and select Malaysian maps?

So is the Maploader a program with a database of maps or do we need to seperately dl Malaysian maps into Maploader? Im still noob when it comes to GPS stuff, would appreciate your feedback...

ps. I will be getting my Navigator from a store on eBay for AUD$570, that's about RM1,700 with 12 mths Nokia warranty. I think thats about the going price for ori Avaxx units in Malaysia is it?

The 6110 Navigator ships with maps of the country it's sold in, eg in Malaysia, it's shipped with Malaysian maps. There no other countries' maps in it.

Malaysian maps for Symbian S60 in general is pretty outdated, so using it is pretty useless, until someone or some company comes out with a complete and updated version. PPCs fare better in this aspect with very updated maps! smile.gif Thanks to Malsingmaps! thumbup.gif

You pretty much got the Maploader thingy correct. smile.gif And it's where you choose the corresponding map into your phone, which is better than downloading it directly into your phone which is costly if you're not on unlimited data package.

The Navigator now retails for RM 1,6xx. So the price you're getting is slightly expensive by local standards. smile.gif
