1. Annual Income: Around RM100K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Doesnt matter

3. Card required for: Petrol, AirMiles, Lounge Access

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil.

5. Interested in CC from: Doesnt matter

6. Others: Hello guys! Newbie here. I'm a Malaysian and Singapore PR working and staying in Singapore. Singapore banks rejected my CC application bangwall.gif so I'm thinking of applying a Malaysia CC. I travel quite a lot for a work so I need a card that can give me access to lounge or earn miles to upgrade to J class. I do have Enrich and Krisflyer FFP. I also frequent JB for petrol and groceries so a card that has cash or petrol rebate would be good also. Thanks all!

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably free annual fee

3. Card required for: Petrol, Cashback, Earn Points

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank 2 Cards Visa and Amex.

5. Interested in CC from: Citibank

6. Others:

I already have M2C Visa and Amex so I am looking for a Mastercard credit card. Interested in credit cards from Citibank but they don't have Mastercard credit card, only Visa. The closest one that fits my needs is Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan. But I already have credit cards from Maybank. Prefer to have one from another bank. Thanks.

I assume you have totally no CC for now.
You may have a little difficulties to get a good card.
Try to start from the bank for your savings.

I will suggest getting:
1) Maybank 2 Plat, weekend 5% CB for Amex (capped at RM50/month), including Petrol. Treat Points is good for air miles.

2) RHB VI/WMC is only good for local PPL lounge, unless you are flying around Msia, you may opt for it.

3) You may aim for Ambank VI/WMC, maybe after getting bonus, if you manage to bump your annual income towards 120k.
Ambank is good for lounge and airmiles (unfortunately their privilege has been reduced substantially, but still something worth considering)

4) If you have 250k spare cash, dump into Standard Chartered FD, get their priority banking status for VI.
You will get unlimited lounge access with LoungeKey program, accepted by more than 1000 lounges worldwide.

5) For airmiles, your ultimate target should be Maybank 2 Cards Premier, but it requires 80k spending to waive AF.

Thanks for your reply. I applied for Citibank Cash Back Visa online since there wasn't any Mastercard available. When Citibank called me I told them I wanted Mastercard instead but was told they do not have Mastercard credit cards. So I did not proceed with the application.

I think Mastercard was offered previously but currently, they only have Visa. But I might be wrong here or the person from Citibank probably gave a misleading info. Do you know which Citibank credit card is being offered as Mastercard?

With SST kicks in, the rm25 per card is a really big problem to me since I have a supplimentary card for my wife.
I'm will cut the supplimetary card for now, and planning on switching to 1 that only have 1 card + another sup card for wife, since have to pay for 2 card anyway.
I currently have some monthyly installmenty payment charged on the card, so if use bank Maybank I could some how transfer the montly installment to a new card maybe?

Edit:
So if I have to give her a card to use, but supp card has no benefits liao, I think can apply 2nd bank card under my name for her?
So can suggest me 2 bank's credit card if this is a better way. thanks

I am leaving Msia for another country and living there.

Between these 2 credit cards

CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum & PB Quantum Visa/Mastercard

which should I keep? Should I keep both?

Quite troublesome and not economical for you to keep and manage CC (principal).
It is better you keep a Debit card.

No, you can not transfer your monthly installment to other new card.

what is the best CC for cash back?
-annual income say 60k maybe
-mainly use for online purchase,shopping,dining,entertainment

means maybe with more or unlimited cap..
cheap or free annual fee
less interest
or any other things that can be consider
i dont really interested in the point system as for me redeemed item mostly not interesting and can be found cheaper online << or should i rethink :-)

Maybank card combo of AMEX+Master (just use the amex).

Or if u can hit 108K annually, best would be HLB Fortune card.

what would be the strong point of this card other than others?

108k anually means we should spend 108k annual?

108k hit gets 1800 cash back.

I thik there is 3 tiers, u need to go check yourself, I only target the 108k.

1% CB limited to 50 per month (all purchase).

SO theoractically you can get 50 x 12 plus 1800 cb = 2400 for 108k spent which is 2.2% no limit on category.
