Get a TNG wallet VISA (Annual fee RM8, no SST).
Use your M2 AMEX (5% weekend CB) to buy TNG PIN RM10/50/100 at Lazada during weekend, use PIN to top up your TNG wallet account. Use TNG Visa to spend at Petrol, Groceries or anything, from Monday to Sunday. TNG Paydirect (TNG card, not TNG Visa) for toll at some highways and parking at some buildings/malls as well.

Hi, thank you for the suggestion. Ikhwan Amex is definitely a good choice if I'm doing online shopping.

Is there any cards which I may use for big purchases in real life? Eg I just bought a water heater but non of my current cards is able to give me cashback..,sad.gif
*
Top up TNG wallet then use TNG wallet Visa / DuitNow QR to spend.
Indirect way.

Annual Income: RM 30K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes/can be waived

3. Card required for: Groceries mainly, but I'm planning on using it everytime i can including misc needs/shopping.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Dont have any. This will be my First Credit Card

5. Interested in CC from: for now i have interest on Maybank's card. Since i mainly use Maybank. In the future, might explore.

So this will be my first credit card. I have been recommended to get the Maybank 2, was it, for my first one.

Just need 2nd opinion on this from you all.
*
First CC and income <RM36000.
Don't be choosy.
You may not get Maybank M2 Visa/MC+AMEX. Good to try first, don't use M2U Online Application. Show your application form and supporting documents to human, eg Card Centre at The Gardens or 1Utama, branches or email.
You may try Maybank Islamic Visa/MasterCard Gold as well, good CB for petrol and groceries, T&C apply. M2 AMEX is not widely accepted, M2 Visa/MC not good for Groceries.

Good luck.

Hi everyone,

1. Annual Income: RM80k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: waieable

3. Card required for: looking for weekday cashback on retail spend, ewallet top up, petrol and dining. If there is card for insurance payment lagi best. Mostly I will tie it with samsung pay to make payment.

4. Existing credit cards (if any):
- maybank 2cards
- pb visa quantum
- sc simply cash
- hsbc mpower amanah visa platinum (gonna cancel)
- citibank clear card (gonna cancel)

5. Interested in CC from: UOB one platinum or sc smart card

6. Others: currently i am using maybank 2cards on weekend spend when its possible. Then weekday, I am using sc simple card to pay and top up tng. But I think this SC simple card cashback not so much still better than HSBC mpower 🤣
*
For the time being, use your Maybank M2 Amex to buy RM1000 TNG wallet PIN at Lazada during weekend. Then use TNG wallet (via Duitnow QR and TNG wallet Visa) to spend on anything you want including but not limited to retail spending, petrol and dining, from Monday to Sunday. Indirectly 5% savings.

When I apply for M2C, can I just activate Amex and not the Mastercard? I've no plans to use the Mastercard and not worth paying SST for it.
*
Even MasterCard is not activated, you still need to pay for SST.

Today TNG ewallet using reload pin has categorized as non-Transferable fund. Bought from Lazada, only have RM50, and limits to 5 only.
*
Doesn't matter transferable or not transferable.
Still can use Duitnow QR or Visa to pay the merchants.
All the while I never encouraged anyone here to use transferable feature. smile.gif

P/S: PIN limit is increased to RM8000/month now. PIN RM2000 and RM200 are available now.

You should blame the merchant not using a proper business QR code!

Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes. or Benefit easily its better than annual fee.

Card required for: Petrol, Dining, Utilities tnb, indah water, tm, online shopping

Existing credit cards (if any): Citibank CB migrated to UOB, Standard Charted(jz terminate) , MBB Amex + Visa, PBB Quantum(plan to terminate.).

Interested in CC from: Any banks

Others: Benefit preferred - Cash back prioritize

Any sifu can recommend for a card to replace my current card?
*
Use your M2 Amex to buy TNG PIN, and to pay IWK & TM at Lazada App on Sat/Sun, then use TNG PIN to top up your TNG wallet. Use TNG wallet In-app services / Jompay / TNG Visa Card / Duitnow QR to spend on petrol, dining and online shopping.

If spend >RM1000/month, then convert part of your Maybank credit limit to Islamic credit line, you can get Maybank Islamic Petronas Visa-i (Sat/Sun - 8% CB at Petronas) and MasterCard-i (Fri/Sat - 5% CB on PETROL/Groceries) and Amex-i (8% online CB at Lazada including paying TM/IWK and buying TNG PIN).

Is there any CC that gives high cashback for grocery at NSK and TF-Value, cos they r excluded from HSBC Amanah Plat, UOB1 and SC Simplycash. So far I think HLwise qualifies.
*
Use TNG wallet/ TNG Visa / Duitnow QR. You get CB from reloading TNG wallet directly or via PIN.

Or ADD Maybank Islamic MasterCard-i, 5% Groceries CB on Friday and Saturday.

Also PB VS / QV if you spend >RM100.

You can use your existing Maybank M2 Amex to buy TNG PIN at Lazada from Monday-Friday, 5x Treatpoints equivalent to 1% (500 TP = RM1 at on-the-spot redemption outlets eg Parkson, Mydin, SenQ, Alpro etc). Then use TNG wallet (In app services, Visa, Duitnow QR, Jompay) to pay TNB, insurance, dining and groceries etc.

oh wow!!! buying TnG reload pin sounds like a good idea. Didn't know that work. biggrin.gif thanks for the great idea.

By the way, im looking for a CC that is free annual fee and free access to premium lounge. Is the PBB CC the best choice now?
I did consider HSBC visa signature, but need to spend the minimum to get the annual fees waived, i am afraid that i might forget about it.

Currently am using: Maybank Grab Card + CIMB E-Card because free annual fees and Grab Card i have way too many points and can't give up anymore. lol.
*
Free annual fee (minimum spend may apply). Just need to pay SST.

2x to 3x (combined) /year, PPL Malaysia only: Public Bank (Visa Infinite, Visa Signature) / Public Islamic Visa/MC Platinum

5x /year, PPL Malaysia only: RHB VS/WM

4x /year, PPL Worldwide: CIMB Islamic Petronas Visa Infinite.

Hi everyone,

looking to get 1st Credit Card.

1. Annual Income: RM45.6k

2. Annual Fee: Free or can waive off.

3. Card required for: Monthly expenses comes under 1k (excluding rent) [food rm300~, petrol+toll rm300~, subscriptions (netflix, amazon) rm70~, utilities (electric, phone) rm60~]. Also would be paying parent's utilities etc through this. All expenses so far I pay using Maybank2u/MAE QRPay. Occasionally I use TnG if MAE cant. Petrol I use Setel.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): None

5. Interested in CC from: don't have any preference.

6. Others requirements: Would prefer card with cashback perk and card that is widely accepted for installment purchases

7. Others: Salary enters Maybank. I use it for expense. I transfer everything else to Public Bank for savings.

Thanks!
i read through a few pages and saw the following:
Does this means buy pin using CC [get cashback cuz online purchase], then use Tng to pay everything else? if yes, then I can use this.

Just curious about petrol payment. Right now, i topup to Setel and pay. So, i get mesra points. If I link CC to setel, will they direct deduct it and give cash back? And is mesra point still given?
Lastly: Is 3 months salary slip enough or need to show bank statements too (which bank's statement do I show)?

Thank you.
*
Try either (unlikely you will get both)
(1) Maybank M2 Visa/Mastercard + Amex. Use Amex to buy TNG PIN at Lazada during weekend.
(2) Maybank Islamic Petronas Ikhwan Visa (8% CB on Sat/Sun) and Ikhwan Amex (8% online, buy TNG PIN at Lazada)

Then use TNG ewallet in-app bill payment to pay for utilities, Duitnow QR and TNG VISA (Annual Fee RM8) to pay for Petrol, Dining etc.
Forget Setel.

Enjoy it while it lasts. TNG PINs can be discontinued and delisted from Lazada anytime.

If possible, go to Maybank Card Centre at The Gardens or 1 Utama, or any Maybank branches to apply. NEVER NEVER NEVER use the M2U Online Application.

Thanks for the suggestions and tips. will try apply for it.

Just curious about 1 thing. if buying something via installment, is that entitled for cashback? how does that work if only weekends entitled to cashbacks (monthly weekend date changes)?  hmm.gif

You may check (using "Search Topic", keyword - eg "Instalment") / ask at Maybank M2 Thread or Maybank Islamic CC Thread.

I don't go for instalment and balance transfer.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Insurance auto rebate

4. Existing credit cards (if any): CIMB Petronas Infinite, Affin Duo, MBB Amex and Amex-i, PBB VS, QM, QV and Islamic Plat, Ambank True

5. Interested in CC from: No preference

6. Others: Please be specific. Example: I am currently charging my insurance to Affin Cash Back, due to the nature of the cashback require min RM3,000 on and off I hit or miss. So thinking if there is a better card with cash back for insurance auto debit.
*
Maybank FC Barcelona VS 1%

Otherwise charge your insurance to CIMB Islamic Petronas Visa Infinite so monthly spending>RM4000 for RM60+RM60 CB.
