Just in case if you are not aware, the 10k in CASA is not earmarked. You can withdraw it if you want.

Also, you could open a BSA with no fee if you don't want a debit card or do online banking.
*
Yes, aware that I can withdraw the 10K later, thanks

I wanted an account with NO FEE and NO DEBIT CARD, but the young lass said ALL new account have to take debit card. BTW she opened TRUESAVERS acc for me and mentioned there's no annual fee of RM8 (showed me memo from HQ stating NO fee). Hope really NO FEE lah. tongue.gif

Maklum. Thank you  thumbup.gif

Today Am Bank & CIMB in Sri Petaling have closed until further notice due the COVID-19.

30% (locked in saving) of my fund that bundled with AM Bank FD promo at 3.25% cannot be withdrew because
of the temporary closed shop of Am Bank in Sri Petaling.

I just manged to withdrawl 70% of fund in FD from another Am Bank branch. 30% of fund is still stucked in AM Bank..  vmad.gif

To keep her happy, i have done rm100k (8 month 2.33) OTC last week.

I told her we will do more OTC when the Covid situation is better. At the moment i have all my efd with Public Bank with terms 1,2 and 3 months (rate is 2.0 for 1 month, 2.1 for 2 months and 2.2 for 3 months).

I have given my wife all my username and passwords with all my banks here and in Australia so she should be able to withdraw them (we have a joint account linked in to my efd) if anything happens to me. Also, my wills are all up to date (i have one will for all my Msian assets and also another will in Sydney for all my Australian assets  smile.gif )

Sometimes i find it very hard to understand women  smile.gif . Give me so much headache tongue.gif
*
tell your wife 'joint names' are risky as well, in case anything happens to you and the bank caught wind of it, your wife CANNOT withdraw immediately, yes, even though her name is IN there. E-fd is much safer since she can just use your password and do a withdrawal.

That's what I have been told by my bankers couple of years back. If there are any changes recently, I would like to be updated too. smile.gif

Normally, such fixed deposit is performed with "Either One to Sign" instruction. In an unfortunate situation of a demise of one joint fixed deposit account owner, the other joint fixed deposit account owner is still able to uplift the joint fixed deposit account, right?
*
No, even EITHER ONE TO SIGN, you cannot withdraw if the bank SOMEHOW knows one party has passed. That's what I have been told. Can anyone confirm any changes recently?

BR looks pretty interesting. Anyone have RM contact in Bangsar? Can PM me.

Plan to open FD account, will a lot of questions be asked, like B.Islam? I am afraid that they will 'interrogate' me. tongue.gif

this was for which bank?

I remember last year I placed CIMB Tia, was promised 2.6% for 12m, but in the end only took back 2.45% upon maturity. Was wondering if I could complain to the bank. Substantial difference there. Officer said Tia , rate subject to change. Maybe she doesnt wanna do extra work for me. Can anyone advise?

As I had a previous account, now I'm having issues accessing my savings account via online & have to go back to the branch again.
With the pandemic, seems like is a pain to open a bank account at most places...
I already have an affin savings account but to qualify for Invikta promo rates, I need to open an Invikta account which is as slow as opening new to bank account.

*
But INVIKTA need to maintain some money in there right? Need yearly charges as well? I remember asking them and there was something that turned me off....but I forgot what tongue.gif

And is there a max limit in Affin e-fd placement? Cos I tried with X amt and it says exceed limit.

Any sifu have experience?

dafakk so much discussion on 2%+++ return ?

blush.gif  rclxs0.gif  rclxs0.gif

why not? If you have 1 million in the bank and we are talking 2%, that's a risk-free RM1666.66 monthly.
I personally prefer to sleep soundly at night and know what I will be getting back at the end of the day.

Well, if you prefer a high-risk high return kind of investment, that's your prerogative.

Cimb TIA (not FD) 2.55% 12 months is at  fixed rate oromo for Preferred customers.  However,  there's no documentation to state that it's at fixed rate, only "assurance " from RM that teller will enter some promo code in their system during the placement
*
no, not taking their word for it anymore. The last I did, I lost out almost 1K in interest vmad.gif

Getting the same in Affin 12mths@ 2.55% anyway.
