if u hv clicks, u can do that efd/efriai:
https://www.cimb.com.my/en/personal/promoti...fd-efria-i.html

take note u usually cannot get it or even see it if u go to clicks direct.
u must go via that promo link, click on it to take u to yr clicks to work.
that promo link will go blank when the period expires, but will return when a new one is up.
or, just google "cimb efd/efriai" for it.

and dun worry, CIMB has no more this "fresh funds" bs.
i hv been doing this a long time - easy, convenient.
bye bye to driving, parking, transfers, earmarks...
may not be highest rates but usually good enuf.
every bank has its own view what BNM will do next.
what i read, most analysts think BNM will leave rates unchanged in may but will raise 25bps in july:

BNM meetings
03 May 2023
06 Jul 2023

BNM will be under pressure to raise if US Fed continues to raise at next Fed mtg on 03 May (04 May our time).
Or BNM will follow fed eventually to cut rates.

there r 2 camps now - one believes fed will raise one more time 25bps and pause... then... start cutting rates to avoid recession.
the other camp thinks everyone's being fooled - fed will keep raising rates as the prime motive is to tame inflation which is still running high.

so... do yr FD placements according to what u believe is coming, nobody really knows. biggrin.gif

Some countries rates are going up, others are going down...

Why the flyer says "Profit up to 4.25%"..?  hmm.gif

You think can place this FD lah..?  cool2.gif

The chance of OPR down is almost impossible within these 2 years..  hmm.gif

Don't know if can get monthly interest or not from this Bank Islam FD promo?

This FD is available until December 0f 2023.. bruce.gif
It looks like Bank Islam wants to "sapu" all available FD funds in Malaysia..?  laugh.gif
*
Not enough details. Lock in the rate when you deposit the FD, or is the final payout dependent on OPR 12 months from deposit date?

This same campaign was at 4.4% last year..

is A1addin the banking app for Affin Bank?
*
Different, so you won't be able to see Affin bank accounts on A1addin or vice versa.

Just to share, I moved RM50k from KDI to UOB, moving from 3.44% to 5%. Different ball game. Put in withdrawal request at 9:30am, received funds at 10:30pm.

For KDI, interest is daily but funds take a day to liquidate.

For UOB, interest is paid some time later, but funds can be moved around instantly when needed.

Yes, Privilege needs to be a new customer.

Non-Privilege can take (1)

Please contact 4 contact persons from alliance at the bottom of the page  thumbsup.gif
Thanks. Means to qualify for the rate, need to deposit RM100k and be a premier banking customer (Alliance Personal tier). If don't deposit RM100k to become premier banking customer, then people in the general public do not qualify for this rate ya. Have to make this point clear.

Alliance Bank:

(1) Personal --> min RM 1000 to max RM 100K

(2) Privilege --> (a) min RM 1000 to max 300K
                        (b) min RM 1 million, max also RM 1 million
*
that is how much a Personal tier customer can deposit at the promo rate, but to qualify, you must first be a Personal tier customer ... which means u need to deposit RM100k AUM and register to be Alliance Personal customer first. It is not open to public who are not Personal tier.

The bottom part. 12 months: 4.15% is inferior to the e-FD promo, which is 12 months: 4.20%

https://www.alliancebank.com.my/promotions/...-promotion.aspx

Alliance is confusing  hmm.gif
*
The link you posted is only valid for those who don't have an existing CASA and opens a new savings account with Alliance Bank ...

If already have savings account then not qualified for 4.2%

Ok. But why need to  make the distinction? Is savings account acquisition that important? I think not, the amount in savings is small, and can go out any time.  hmm.gif

Anyway, thanks for noting the difference. By that, it means that because I closed my savings account last November, I will be eligible for 4.2% now.  tongue.gif
*
well.. i have a savings account with them, so I am not eligible for that 4.2% ..... that's the difference - it is not open to general public without T&C.

Meanwhile in USA
QUOTE
Following Wednesday's increase, US interest rates stand at 5% to 5.25%, up from 4.75% to 4.5% since the last increase in March. Not since 2007 have they been this high.

In the US, the interest rate is a range, rather than a single percentage - unlike the UK - because the Fed is not permitted to set a specific figure. The figures is a target rate set to guide lenders.
