affin mytown OTC can be done on wkend?
what is the minimum deposit to open a BSA w affin. i saw fr their website is rm500.
*
open everyday.

but acct opening and fd placement must be by 530pm (system policy)

mine was rm100 as initial opening amt but later I withdrew out rm80 via affinonline.

then I withdrew rm10, now balance rm10.

with the new portal, it seems min is rm9 (will try this tomorrow)

**update**

good news, actual min is rm1 ... mislooked rm9 as min but in fact available balance.... so, i withdrew rm9, left rm1 now laugh.gif

great... mean i dont need to apply leave to place FD.

if i placed eFD, is my placement will be deem as mytown KPI or it will be recognised as HQ?
*
no idea if there are specific tagging for efd. anything online is branch-agnostic (imo). just treat it as hq lo.

Hi everyone, im new to FD & still learning.

Is eFD better than OTC FD? Eventho eFD rates are lower?

CIMB is giving 3.05% for eFD 6 months. So if i put 10k in, ill get RM 152.50 at the end of the 6 months? Is that the right calculation?

Do enlighten me as im really fresh in this notworthy.gif
*
efd/otc is a matter of preference, and usually efd has lower rate.

your example, will get around rm152.08 profit.

fpx/paynet is the one setting the limit for rm30k per transfer (b2c model). diff bank may have daily limit, but still rm30k per transfer.

those with higher per transfer limit is upon special request and approval from paynet. not many did that.

fpx b2b model is max rm1mil per transfer. this is on different model.

other than HLB , which other bank collects FDs thru FPX? Just wondering why other banks are not using FPX to collect FDs?

Maybank, but at board rate.

https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...fd-fpx0619.page?

they intermittently open up fpx transfer.

Look good at 3.90%
Anyone know  the limit we can transfer per day? If possible, plan to open 2 FD instead of 1 meaning 2 transfers from another bank to open 2 FD.
*
stated in the t&c

// 6. The maximum deposit amount per transaction via FPX transfer is Ringgit Malaysia Thirty Thousand (RM30,000) or subject to such prescribed maximum amount / limit of transfer in the Eligible Customer’s individual internet banking maintained with the relevant bank, whichever is lower. //

What's the difference between Islamic vs conventional FD? Both also FD, both also covered under PIDM yes? Any special TnC that we should be aware of?

read the writeup below the page. this gives you some basic understanding.

for depositors (irrespective to race or religion), no issue to pick either one.

Low interest rates — a double-edged sword

In short, good for people looking to take out loans, and not so good for people looking to save money.
