Is it confirmed nothing this year?

I got a notification earlier saying to wait for further details on 8 July. Nothing in the app or website since 8th, as far as I am aware.

Yes the base interest revised down from 0.75% to 0.15%
30.6.24 i got RM61.34
after revised down  on 31.7.24 =RM12.71 ok fine.

But the revised Bonus rate for deposit 3k seems ?? increased to 1.3% and
3 transaction bonus also ??increased to 0.8%
= Total 2.1%

I remember previous rate was 1.15% and 0.6% =1.75%

But Bonus interest received remain same like before....

25.6.24   was RM148.63 (1.75% bonus rate)

25.7.24 also same RM148.63 (should be 2.1% revised)
If follow new revised bonus rate at 2.1%
it should be RM178.36

anyone can confirm this?
yes base rate reduced from 0.75% to 0.15%
Yes correct

Previously base 0.75% +Bonus 1.75% =2.5%
Revised 1.7.24 Base 0.15% +Bonus 2.1% =2.25%

But from my observation above
Ambank might be paying  us 0.15% +1.75% =1.9%

that would be 0.6% less.
*
I got 0.15% base interest, and 2.1% bonus interest.

Once my bundled FD all mature by November, no need to keep any funds in Truesaver's account. There are better options to earn more than 2.25%, without conditions. Until AmBank offers FD bundling again laugh.gif

US increase the rates also BNM didn't increase the rates...

That's why MYR become so weak....

Anyway OPR is not the only factor to determine the FD rates...

You see now, even OPR maintain, FD rates still dropping 😁

MYR is top performer this year

Just heard this first hand. Someone placed an FD at BI, fresh fund, gets 12m 3.95%, already gets the cert.

Then BI officer phoned said they made a mistake. They will uplift the FD tomorrow without holder consent.

Can they do that since already have the cert.
*
They can't do that. Should insist on the rate as per cert, failing which, send in a complaint letter, copied to BNM.

I frequent the same BI branch that made the mistake. From experience, there will be 3 officers processing it. Previously, she was able to nego for a higher rate, the same officer  that first processed the FD. I am the one that recommended the officer to her  doh.gif

They can do that, but I would be asking for a compensation. BeU under BI giving 4% mah.
*
MBSB still got 4% also right?

I support you, on principle.

I don't know what the actual mistake was, but where did the 3.95% rate come from? They must have a logical basis, cannot just say mistake, especially when a few staff are involved. Most banks have built-in checks in their systems to prevent out-of-range rates being keyed in.

It's not such a big deal for BI if they honor the 3.95% rate, since there are higher rates in the market.

One time I got a better FD rate from AmBank altho the rate was meant for a larger amount. The officer overlooked it, realised it later, after the cert was issued, but didn't retract the rate. thumbsup.gif

Most supermarkets do the right thing i.e. if the price displayed is lower than the price in the system, they will honour the lower price

i was very sceptical reading insurance company
giving guaranteed 4.6% pa return for RM50k premium

which can be returned 100% end of 2 yrs
so insurance is FOC?

i bought too just wait and see we really get what is stated
hopefully dont come tell us campaign quota  full
or not qualified due to exclusion etc
*
As far as I can see, the eligibility criteria is:

Eligibility to participate
1. This Campaign is open to new bancassurance customers* of UOB Malaysia who purchased a new PRUEzy
Saver policy via the PRUEzy Insure website during the Campaign Period (“Eligible Customer”), whereby such
policy must be incepted by 15 January 2025 (“Eligible Policy”).
*New bancassurance customers refers to customers of UOB Malaysia who do not own any active
policy/certificate classified in the non-eligible product listing* distributed by UOB Malaysia and underwritten by
PAMB.

I reckon it's a special promo to entice newbies into the Bank's insurance products.

They also show the calculation of the amount of the 4.6% returns in the application page, so if the fund size is already met, they should not allow one to proceed further. Knowing UOB, they are very efficient in deleting promotions from their website as soon as it is over.

Just to be safe, I will screenshot every page as evidence when I invest laugh.gif

But I thought the bonus portion shd also be given if meet the requirements before maturity date like 3k credit and min spending RM1k with debit card. Only after the maturity date the monthly average balance will be zero so bank shd also accounts for us from 1st to 25th Oct. Just my thought la..

Anyway thanks for your reply ☺️

I agree. Correct me if I am wrong, but as I understand it from the Truesavers T&C, bonus interest rates are not tied to FD bundling. So you should also get the bonus rates until end of the month too right if you continue to maintain balances in Truesavers? Just don't close your savings account until the bonus interest is credited! laugh.gif

Got point. Are we allowed to leave the Truesavers balance and uplift the FD only though? Because at the Truesavers amount is locked in as hold.

"This is your amount that is NOT available for withdrawals and transfers as it may be held/reserved. E.g. For Fixed/Term Deposit Bundle."
*
When we withdraw FD, just remind them to uplift the hold on Truesavers, which they will do shortly thereafter anyway
