UOB Bank- Bandar Bukit Tinggi (SELANGOR) Branch Opening FD Promotion
(3 May 2021 until 31 May 2021)
https://www.uob.com.my/personal/promotions/...tinggi-pfs.page
9 months* 2.50% p.a.

10% FD amount to be earmarked for CASA (3 months)

*FRESH FUND is REQUIRED*
Min: RM10,000
Max: RM500,000
*Promotion will be ceased upon reaching the fund size of RM150 million (“Fund Size Limit”).
TnC direct URL: https://www.uob.com.my/web-resources/person...nggi-fd-tnc.pdf
*
Not attractive at all with 10% earmarked in CASA.
This means that the effective rate is only 2.25% pa (2.5% * 90%), which is way below other banks.

The earlier promotion shared is even better for 9 months @ 2.4% pa.

Okay Thanks
Maybe police will say why not you use your ATM card to withdrawl money nearby?
Yes, I need to prepare some excuse and reason first  hmm.gif
Thanks
Yes, you are right, need within 10KM.

Thanks  thumbup.gif

Remember that you can withdraw money via ATM. There is no charges for MEPS withdrawl since MCO1. So, do note on this.

I put rm50k (8-month) OTC a few days ago and they gave me 2.33% (Mont Kiara branch). How come i got more since it should be 2.28%? Maybe they give Red Carpet members more? I did another rm50k at the Taman Desa branch one week before that (around 20/6) and also got 2.33% for 8 months.

I did both before 1 July so maybe the promotional rates have dropped now.
*
Since u put before 1 July, u need to check the June promotion. The rates in the picture above relates to placement on 1 July onwards

is TIAi worth? more like profit sharing?
*
TIA is term investment account. Technically, it is not a FD.

FD = capital is guaranteed by PIDM up to rm250k per depositor and for 1 to 1

TIA = investment account not guaranteed by PIDM. As in any investment, you might or might not get back 1 to 1. You have to assess based on track record and past experience. Of course, banks have the clause that says "Past performances are not indication of future events".

Is this the correct way to calculate..5k park for 3mths with 2% p.a...
*
Technically, it should be:

rm5000 * days for the 3 months / 365 * 2%

Cause interest is calculated by days. Different months have different days

For the 12m Islamic, the monthly interest needs to be credited to Islamic CASA too? Or can go into conventional SA? Any idea? Thanks
*
The interest from Islamic FD can go to Conventional SA. I have placed in both Conventional and Islamic FD before and the interest from both type of FD is credited to Conventional SA.
