RIZE supposedly give daily interest right? But where do they display the interest earned? Recently open and deposited money in but didn't see the interest earned.

QUOTE(ikanbilis @ Jul 4 2023, 04:06 PM) Finally went to BI for the 4.5% FD. Seems very old school and said my FD cert would only be given after my bankers check cleared. Must open savings account so the interest could be credited upon maturity. It has been a long time since i last saw a savings passbook. If convenient to you, PJ State is one of the branches with minimal fuss. Banker's cheque gets you the FD cert on the spot. Savings account also not required.[attachmentid=11472159] |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jul 6 2023, 03:56 PM) September one can guarantee hike... Then Bank Islam supposedly will have to up FD rate to 4.75% if hike in September. I wonder if they might terminate the promotion if OPR rises again this year? Unless other banks start upping their rates again. This one more on political reasons & pressure... No matter what BS they said in the statements.... This post has been edited by BWassup: Jul 6 2023, 04:29 PM |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jul 7 2023, 04:55 PM) finally, joined BIMB's TDT 4.50% @ 12mth campaign Differences in policies and practices by different Bank Islam branches is really quite bizarre.just got some FDs matured @ HLB today, withdraw it thru Bank Draft (RM5.65 fee) cuz HLconnect can only do max RM50k per day went to BIMB, was hoping Bank Draft -> BIMB BSA immediately -> TDT placement, but staff staid Bank Draft need clearance. If deposit to BSA, then TDT will only dated at clearance date. however, BIMB also allow direct TDT placement from Bank Draft/other sources and will be effectively dated on placement date (mine @ 7/7/2023) profit will only available together with TDT once matured, eventhough you have BSA with them. nvm, i already linked my BSA with SSPN too. good to keep an account with BIMB for future TDT/SSPN uses. at the counter, i did ask them what happen if maturity falls on weekend? staff said system wont adjust the date and no profit given (verbal info). just checked BIMB portal, maturity date set to 8/7/2024 (Mon) as default maturity 7/7/2024 falls on Sunday. couldnt see the profit yet in BIMB portal (or reflect tomorrow? tbc). let's see if the certificate will have it printed. ![]() --------- those who wants to open BIMB account... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « It's been verified by many posters than placement with Bank Draft/Cashier Order does not require cheque clearance before issuance of FD. Just wasting your time and cost to go one more time. They really need better communication from HQ to all Branches so the policies and practices are consistent throughout all branches. |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jul 24 2023, 11:37 AM) No idea on end date. Went to ask AmBank Bangsar branch about the promo.I added comment in earlier post Add: Note depends very much on your CASA account earned interest, if not effective rate is LOW, like 3.43% onwards. Highly secretive, would only let me glance at the printed promo (supposedly "internal"). Also did not give details of how to earn 4.3% effective rate, except to say will need to deposit around 500k to get this rate. This requirement is just too high for me . |

QUOTE(datolee32 @ Jul 27 2023, 06:33 PM) Yes. This has been discussed at length several times in this forum, can search for it.RHB system is like that, it is confusing for sure. It tells you that you will lose interest on your deposit, but actually it is referring to the deposit they auto-renewed today, not your matured deposit which you have got your full interest credited today right? As long as you are sure your maturity date is 27th July, not 28th July, the bank has zero right to prevent you from withdrawing it today. Just go ahead and withdraw. QUOTE(joeblow @ Aug 7 2023, 08:35 PM) It can be straight forward. Read on. About a month ago when I asked at AmBank Bangsar, the RM said need around 500k before can get 4.3% effective rate. Way beyond my range.Yes they just offer me that. Even though I hate monthly as I always think it will not add up right (the 12 months). But eventually I opted for monthly trusting the bank calculation. I am not going to calculate myself after 12 months. That's the problem with such banks. Clueless about the practice. Takes long time for them to realize the new rules. OK in the end I went with AMBANK. The manager was kind enough to give me a net effective rate of 4.3% for 12 months. It is quite straight forward as the savings account gives 0.25% and the FD 8.35%. 50 - 50 Fresh fund. If the savings account do not give 0.25%, I will get 4.175%. Lazy to go open MBSB account even though if got chance I will just go open account first for future promotion. The ambank promotion depends on the branch manager. So no harm trying to ask. Fresh fund above 200k. They told me also got cases of 100k and the HQ gives 4.2% nett. So now it is reduced to RM200k? |
