Earlier last month was offered same rate before it was withdrawn. Can try your luck for substantial amount.

Otherwise bank Rakyat seems to be comparable for 2years and above tenure, though I’m not keen about it.
*
Yes my amount is quite substantial, if they ok then i will keep for another 1 year.

Ambank = 4.4

hong leong = rep told me wait for 7/7 ( i guess rate won't be as good knowing HLB)
RHB = 4.38 (15 mths)

when the amount is quite huge, usually they will go for rentas. and now should be RM5.00 only, since no more GST

I used rentas previously, how long it takes? Previously took around 3-4 hours.

Thanks for all the above info, here's my update today:
- Withdraw FD at 12-1pm
- RENTAS RM5 without GST
- 2:10pm money is in MBB  icon_rolleyes.gif

HLB Merdeka rate 4.2% is low. Waiting for the 7-7 digital. There is no UOB or Ambank nearby sad.gif and I prefer online banking if possible.

Bank Islam 2 years 4.65% p.a. effective rate is over by end June.

1-2 Hours sounds good

Want to try Bank of China? 4.4% But not sure if PIDM protected

http://www.bankofchina.com/my/en/bocinfo/b...7_12113195.html

Edit: Yes Eligible for PIDM protection.

Is Ambank protected by PIDM?

Nearby I got RHB bank only, which I open & close last 1-2 years for the FD.

Plan to park half here and half wait for HLB.

Edit: RHB Bank

Phoned and was told this old Affin special promo at minimum 250k per placement already ended yesterday 10 July 2018 at Bangsar branch.
Was 13 mths at 4.45%, 15 mths at 4.5% and 18 mths at 4.6%. Too late for those who only noticed/aware about this now. Time to adjust rates after BNM meeting due and other banks offerings. console.gif

4.6% for 18 months is good deal, damn i missed it

They just want you to invest with them to achieve their quota i guess, yes i heard of this too at all banks i go and ask for FD/UT rates.
asnb is mostly long term deposit (maybe 3yrs min.) cause of the 5% they take from you.
One of the options is i am also thinking to spilt 50/50 for this then 3 mths later put 50% FD into asnb.
*
QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Jul 13 2018, 09:52 AM)
The 5% is ridiculous. It's like the Chinese saying, "You have not met the judge but get hit 50 times first. " Their returns also not fixed.
*
Yes I was offered also and they tried to persuade me to put in ASNB telling me how secured.

To get equivalent return of FD, you need 2 years min in ASNB, however there are chances of Capital Appreciation since the price per unit is low now due to KLSE tanking lately due to investors running away with all the negative news namely 1MDB, cutting HSR, Bandar Malaysia, ECRL, MRT, LRT3 projects etc

i recommend the latter- lots of banks will float large cash amount + ask you to sign alot of forms. it may be 0 cost but lost opportunity when u can't touch your own money

How much it cost for Banker's Cheque?

I remembered last time I used Rentas
