what do you mean by bundle nett 4.3%? which branch offered you tis rate?

Refer to previous page. They talking about AMBANK so I am talking about AMBANK. But dependant on the RM or branch manager whether they want to help you apply via HQ.

I think the minimum amount of RM500k may not be required, because  I was earlier informed that the minimum amount of FD is 10k. Please confirm this with the branch. And the promo is for every day, not just on Saturdays!

So this morning I made a placement at AmBank Bangsar Baru - 50k FD:50k CASA, and was given 8.2% for FD. Together with 0.75% for the Truesaver CASA account, the effective rate is 4.475%, as stated in the ad.

In addition, if you can meet the deposit, bill payment and spending criteria for the Truesaver account, you can earn up to 2.5% on The Truesavers account, thereby achieving an even higher effective rate =>https://www.ambank.com.my/eng/TRUE-Saver-Account-i

I believe this is the best FD rate in the market now thumbup.gif  rclxms.gif
Note: To qualify as an AmBank Signature Priority customer, you need to have RM200k Assets Under Management.

If not already an existing AmBank customer, a placement of 100k FD + 100k CASA should suffice.
*
This true saver account is good. 0.75%. My last 2 bundle FD they require me to open Basic Savings account with fees (rm8 per annual) and this AmWafeeq Savings Account-i. Strangely they never give me True Savers... will check next time.

Tomorrow I need to go put in FD big amount.

Can I check if the best rate available still AMBank 4.1% (bundle) 12 months / Pure FD 18 months. PB 12 months 3.9% for RCB Elite. Alliance seems have cap so no go. Bank Islamd 4.5% for 2 years but more as structured product even though the manager inform me almost like FD. CIMB also 3.9 12 months max.

Seems now for big amount (above 1m) 4.1% is the max?

I put above 1 mil around 1month+ ago on Maybank, max they gave me was 4.1%, and they only offered for 6 months max altho i requested for 12 months.
*
For Maybank to give 4.1% is a lot... I guess I have no choice but to stick to AMbank.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Nov 14 2023, 04:22 PM)
how long you prefer?
6 mth bank muamalat

Duration can be maximum up to 3 years. But rate must be good. Currently the best I get for FD is 4.1% 12 months.

Hate this kind of last min placement. Hard for bank to accomodate you.

Just update folks, in the end the highest I can find is the promotion below stated by Cybpsynch. If your amount is more than 1m, then this one is the best but duration only 6 months and TIA is not FD. Can get around 4.3 to 4.6% depending how big your amount since the interest rate in preferred CASA is tier based. I cannot remember if the banker gave me something more. I didn't take this however because of 6 months and I just want to get rid of ringgit.

Get the Signature Priority VI  more  lounge benefits. ---> I prefer Infinite because no need to submit personal financial info to bank

regarding the visa infinite u apply, its is confirm no need give epf, or income tax doc and u get approve for the card?
cause i apply the signature priority after deposit the rm350k fd, yesterday received call say my card not approve, need epf or income tax. or else pledge with another fd
*
I can only relate to my own experience. I get the Metal card and I did not have to submit anything except for some questions and the business cert of my company (I suspect if employment then submit nothing). No FD pledge too. Of course you must qualify to be their premier customer and depends on the branch manager if they willing to help you. FYI now metal card got promotion, that time when I apply no promotion except no annual fee. I managed to get the rm25 tax waived too since they gave me no free gifts. Now I think got some great gifts when apply, just go for it.

QUOTE(Garysydney @ Nov 17 2023, 10:33 AM)
Are you saying Infinite is easier to get than Signature Priority?

I have never worked in Msia so i have no epf or income statement as i have only worked in Sydney. I tried applying Maybank credit card a few years ago but they say i need to pledge fd so i pledge rm22k for a Maybank Petronas Visa.

I use my Maybank Petronas card for everything and over the last 2 and a half years used about rm400k. Recently Public Bank asked me if i wanted to have a PB Infinite card (don't have to fill form at all) and i told them PBB will probably reject me as i have never worked in Msia. After 1 day, i got an sms from PBB saying my card for Infinite has been approved with 40k limit. I didn't expect PBB to give me a credit card as i only have about 500k fd with them. I am now about to cancel my Maybank Petronas card and get my fd pledge back.
*
This FD pledge is the greatest scam, low interest rate. Last time I had to pledge FD too to apply for PB card and the free gifts make up for the lost interest rate. But it is quite troublesome. Key is the bank must recognize your worth nowadays. With CTOS and all the hidden credit rating, I believe those who qualify can get credit card without pledging.

MBSB 24 mth 4.10% with monthly interest can negotiate higher for larger sums. Can get 4.15% for 6 figures account, all depends on the amt and the officer
involved.
*
I don't have mbsb, seems they also one of the banks offering good deals.

So I have no choice, can only go ambank 18 months 4.1%. Not going to go bundle, too troublesome. Hope there's better rates out there that's not complicated.

QUOTE(oldkiasu @ Dec 21 2023, 02:53 PM)
paramdav - called MBSB HQ - the MBSB promo end date is Tuesday 19 March 2024 as published. Not end of March 2024. Started on Wednesday 20 December 2023.

BWassup- no monthly interest. Principal and interest all creditted into PrimeWin account together with stopping the withholding on the 25% in PrimeWin on maturity even if weekend or holiday - no extra days interest.

Placement have to go there for OTC. Supposed to be 10k minimum per placement using Fresh Fund, but can top-up some renewing from existing maturing FD.

Calculation of interest uses 365 divisor for Interest Paying Days in 2023 and 2025, and use 366 divisor for days in leap year 2024.

The final interest will be different for every day you place a 12 month FD.

For 6 month promo, the interest if placed in December 2023 will keep decreasing for each subsequent day.
*
Thanks for info. Do you know how MBSB deal with FD maturity on Sat or Sun or PH? Will the FD date automatically move to the next working day? ie if 8th Feb 2025 matures on a Saturday will the FD straight away to go 10th Feb maturity? Or you will burn the weekend interest?

I had a MBSB FD maturing last month on a Saturday.

They auto-extended the FD until the next working day i.e. Monday, and an additional 2 days interest was paid.

However, my FD was a very old one. Someone here informed that current FD do not mature on a non-working day anymore.

Considering how MBSB seems to be the only bank coming up with decent rates, I am forced to drive far to open up the account then move my money there. Just strange they use PrimeWin CASA only 0.05% and not the normal one which has more than 1.4%.

I just opened my MBSB PrimeWin account, quite painful since need HQ approval meaning a lot of things need to wait and has little issues such as TAC SMS number not registered etc. But what to do as now best promotion at 4.4% effective.

But two things if guru can confirm, this Primewin account needs to lock in 25% and min rm100. However it seems the online banking doesn't lock in this amount? I see I can still transfer it out.

Second is online banking shows Saving Account i without showing the account type. Anyone else having this same experience?

I don't know why other banks lag so behind this MBSB. A bit ridiculous the next best rate is 4%... anyway I will pump all those maturing FDs into MBSB...

Not sure wats it bout for ur case

I onli spent 1hr in mbsb all done smoothly with a very friendly officer

No need hq approval
*
I spent less than 30 mins in branch. But my case needs hq approval and I don't know why. I actually applied online, went through ctos verification and was in branch for verification. Maybe you went to hq to apply? Lol. They did say the wait time is 1 to 2 hours for hq to approve but I didn't want to wait since they are not sure. Oh last time I apply for the Public Bank account same, need hq approval but that time I waited and kept chasing them to press hq since my deposit was big.

Hi all, while MBSB effective rate now is 4.4%, anyone asked them about this clause in their T&C? Seems they can revise rate if OPR goes down.

https://www.mbsbbank.com/promotions/chinese...-combo-campaign

> Should there be an Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) change, the promotional rate will be revised accordingly.
*
No, once you place and the OPR revises down or up the FD remains valid. However if OPR changes, then they might revise the promotion rate.

OK confirmed mbsb staff doesn't like me. Even open new fd account needs hq approval. But at 4.4% nett per 12 months highest rate at the moment, even those recently launched investment grade bond few can beat 4.4%.

Three points,

1. No free gift despite new account opening and big fd placement.
2. This year has 366 days. But the fd 5.85% will pay you only for 365 days unless the estimated amount is subject to further adjustments.
3. The top 3 lucky draw pick of car and bike not open to this promotion. The locked amount only applicable to the lower tier prizes for the lucky draw. Need to place separate rm20k per ticket for the top 3 prize draw. Lol.
