Can I check which banks have more than 4% FD rate?

So far I manage to get Bank Islam 4% FD 24 months (special HQ request). The next best seems to be 3.9% Public Bank RCB Elite (no birthday). AMBank only 3.75% 12 months but they have some new promotion that gives you gold coins etc.

Seems like banks don't need cash now?

Current Highest FD 6 months Bank Islam 4.15%. 24 months 4% (subject to approval).

MBSB no news on new promotion.

AMBank has a insurance bundle deal but no interest to pursue further.

Seems the rest of the banks not offering anything higher than 4%. I think soon need to move money to other places, FD getting low and ringgit value keeps tanking.

Happy CNY everyone!

I blif the SOP is there but depending on how the staffs wanna execute it.

Some relek staffs ll tell u no in order to save the hassle. Those responsible ones ll do do die die find a way to make it happen since the SOP is there.

Anw not much of an issue in BI but the speed is somehow very interesting as it took me 2hrs today just to place fd due to heavy human traffic picking up tis promo.
*
I think branch specific. I went BI today less than 30 mins. Even managed to change some new notes, other banks if not reserved don't have. But the total interest is a bit less than 4.15%, maybe because Feb is short month. I suspect this promotion will end soon even if until April.

Yes. From the bank, the board rate shows also 3.85%(Quarterly interest) and 3.8% (monthly interest). Planing to take the 3.85%...but just discovered...online place FD there is no option for the 3.85% or 3.8%, only 3.9% which is only upon maturity. So i guess i have to go to the branch again. Haiz.
*
Actually some banks do offer very good rate for more than 3 years. Nowadays I don't do longer than 2 years because you have to keep to maturity if not will lose interest, not like last time lose only half. Might as well put in bond.

MBSB I think their new promotion comes after CNY. Best they can offer me is 3.65% for 12 months.

Anyways, these are today observation
BIMB TDTi = 4.15% 6M (OTC ONLY)
CIMB eFDi = 3.65% 3M (FPX)
CIMB eFDi = 3.80% 7M (FPX)
CIMB eFD / eFDi = 3.65% 6M (CIMB CASA)
CIMB eFD / eFDi = 3.70% 12M (CIMB CASA)
HLBB eFD / eFDi = 3.75% 6M (FPX)
HLBB eFD / eFDi = 3.7% 12M (FPX)
AFFIN eFD / eFDi = 3.75% 12M (FPX)
BR = 3.45% 12M - NORMAL RATE

anyone can please top up.. TQTQ
Add AFFIN
*
Sad,all below 4%.

BIMB 4% 24 months and above (subject to HQ approval)
PB RCB Elite 3.9% 12 months. If birthday month another 0.05% but there's a cap.
Affin 3.9% 12 months need hq approval.

Hope MBSB or whatever comes up with good FD promotion soon. Some banks close their FY end Mar or June. Tempted to sell all my bursa shares and go all in into FD.

placed FD on monday at BI 4.15%, as usual have to;
- fight for today effective date FD
- fight for today same day issue cert
- wait 1.5 hours

despite using bank cheque/draft and at low peak time. no SA though.

Lucky all successful ... if not because of the high rates, I wont go to this slow proud bank.
*
Lucky you, the branch manager messaged me today is the last day for 4.15%.

FYI personal cheque accepted with same effective date or not depends on the branch and how much they trust you. I tried before using personal cheque with same effective date, but cert can only collect days later.

change branch for FD withdrawal can.

It depends on the amount. Above a certain amount (forgot how much) you need to go back to the branch you open the FD.

Just talked to Maybank, I think the 4% promotion is Branch specific and no go over here in Johor. Now left only mbsb 4% 1 year as best in market...

Mbsb shared this to me today

4% 12 months

Anyone placed this MBSB 4% promotion with maturity on a weekend? Initially the staff said will carry forward to the next working day, but then said this promotion no auto-renew hence the money will be transferred to the savings account upon maturity, ie Saturday. Anyone placed with this promotion and have their maturity date bring forward to the next working day?

the TD-i placement.  //

if u re-read the T&C, it says placement can be auto-renew at board rate OR you can instruct bank to auto-credit back to CASA.

afaik, mbsb system will auto-adjust the maturity date if default maturity falls on weekend.

Thanks for this update. I also don't know why and I am lazy to argue. I guess it is another one of the branch specifics behaviour.

Just placed more FD at MBSB 4% 12 months. Now they accept personal cheques with effective date the day FD placed. But this 4% promotion is strange, the actual rate given is 3.9925 instead of 4%... But I guess this place still highest at the moment.

Bond and FD market getting shameful... hope OPR goes up. Our ringgit too weak.

i was going to  withdraw online my B islam 18month FD due today,
system showed renew another 18 months dapat 4.65%!
ini boleh picaya kah?

You better go to branch to print the latest cert or update on cert. They might just change it backend after they realize the mistake, so better get black and white. Do update us on this, I think a lot of us have FDs mature with Bank Islam this month.

If you have a valid certificate, they must honour as it's signed by 2 bank authorised signatory, unless you are relying on the previous matured certificate.

My 18 months matured today and while in the App is shown as 4.65% for 18 months auto renewed, I went the bank to get an updated certificate and the rate on the new certificate was 2.85% and not as shown in the App. So I withdrew out.
*
Yes thank you. You just confirmed what I suspect. People, if a bank provides paper certificate, please don't trust what you see online as they can always adjust. This happened to me MBSB last round, thus I don't believe it. The terms and conditions state the promotion rate only for 1 cycle (MBSB). Public bank practice this too.

She said very soon, dalam masa terdekat. She checked with her colleagues and also perhaps her manager that it should be within this month. Hopefully not September

Hmm tomorrow I will check with branch people. If they really come out with 4.2%, that means a lot of people (including me) who placed big amount with MBSB needs to go transfer the money over.

Contacted branch manager, she doesn't know of this promotion. So I guess only rumours now... For FD MBSB best at 4%, but technically you get only 3.99%...

Apparently I think Bank Islam promotion cannot be finalized because this Thur upcoming OPR? or is it next week? So now still MBSB 4%, even AMBANK is waiting for the next OPR decision.

Most banks I talk to, their HQ doesn't give special rates for big amount because of the upcoming OPR decision. Maybe will not stay 3%, up or down no one knows.

I find BI SA is kinda lacking. My FD interest is already credited into the SA, however there is no description of it at Account History. Anyway, transfered to Affin for online convenience. No FPX, no hassle.
*
For my case the description and entry will be reflected the next working day. You can try.
