Ya, the 0.3% can be a lot for big sums !! However it is for corporate account only. Only company directors (like u ) can place the FD.

If u have MBB acount, u can do virtually MANY MANY times. I have done about 14 times in the same day from MBB account recently and another forummer has done like 17 times last year ?

Today around 11am did IBG from BR, up to 6.10pm still has not arrived in MBB. Sxit, plan to do FPX for HL eFD.

Hopefully can still make it today.

About 7.10pm log in MBB again, dough in. So did 2 placements in HL eFD.

Next week May month, hopefully can have even better promo. If not, will go for CIMB 4.2% but has to open CA.

OCBC new Premier Banking promo has been quite similar for past 2 years or so. The 5% 3 mth FD have to buy investment products. I did not take it up when I signed up for their PB.

It is for their Preferred customer. Monthly interest is for Islamic FD. It is discussed above. Please read the posts above.

Affin April FD promo, received PM from Affin. 200k 4.25% 18 mth, last day. Must talk with officer/BM to get approval.

In UOB PB centre to terminate FD. Their BC used to be only RM0.68, now RM2.80. Was told they increased it since late last year. Was offered 12 mth 4% for the renewal (though not fresh fund). Turned it down. Asked where the BC going to ? Told them CIMB. Took about 40 minutes. Then in the normal banking area, not much people there. Maybe should have done it in the normal banking area.

Went to CIMB, fully packed ! The BM asked me to pass her the BC. Said will take a long time due to the crowd. I can collect the FD cert next week. CA can open next week per requirement of the FD promo. Going for Islamic 12 mth FD 4.2% with monthly interest. Saw the FD shown in CIMB Clicks just now.

Haha, I think it could be because of the FD type. OCBC has FD board rate, FD promo and MiFD.

OCBC MiFD has higher rate and monthly interest. Has been going on for like 4 mths since early Jan.

It was extended until end June. Note it is for CIMB Preferred customer.

CIMB FD promo has not been competitive for sometimes. Now it is the best rate for 1 year among the major banks.

I will also be going there the coming days to place more FD's. Unless new May month FD promo is higher than 4.2% for 1 year, from other banks !

Oh, also to CIMB to collect the FD cert for the FD that I placed on Friday.

Seems that way to me for >4% 12 mth FD. But tomorrow we may have more info on May month offers. I am eager to see if any bank will beat CIMB 4.2% 12 mth FD.

Means that FD after maturity will go to board rate. You can place other FD's not just ONE. This is common clause for banks.

For me, I also has 2,3 and even 5 years FD. Even 5 yrs retail bond just bought last December. I think will can take care of any issues though joint account is faster for the dependents (to get the money).

Yes the CIMB 12 mth 4.1% is open to all. Only Preferred customer is 4.2%.

The CIMB 12 mth 4.1% is open to all OTC.

CIMB 12 mth 4.2% is for their Preferred customer.

CIMB eFD 12 mth 4.15% is open to selected customer.

Please distinguish between the three.

In UOB . FD promo same as previously. Until end June,4% 12 mth

In UOB this morning. Uplifted FD. Again (like last Friday), was asked where is the new home for the BC. Told them CIMB.

Went to CIMB to place for the CIMB Preferred 12 mth 4.2%. Opted for the Islamic FD with monthly interest.

Collected last Friday FD cert as well. Heard from the leng lui that they are busy as lots of customer went there for the 12 mth 4.1% FD, for normal customers.

Nowadays CIMB can nego with larger sums (than normal). So even though not their Preferred, still can ask for higher rate.

They also have this rare promotion which is the highest among major banks. Either 12 mth 4.1% or 4.2% for Preferred.

Did u join their Preferred customer or they gave u 4.2% 12 mth without u joining Preferred ?

CIMB normal promo 12 mth 4.1% has Conventional and Islamic FD. U can choose either one.

Received interest from HL eFD 4.15% placed 1 mth ago !

As for CIMB, just learned that they now adjust all FD maturity to working day, same as CB, UOB and BR. This have started about 2 years ago.

Yesterday asked about the CIMB eFD 12 mth 4.15% selected customer. The branch did not know about how this was done. Apparently criteria set by HQ. For smaller amount like 10k, it would be more convenient to place it instead of going to bank for the 4.2% (for Preferred).
