FD bundled with UT ?  hmm.gif
*
Talked to my UOB RM. It is FD/UT bundle. The above is UT/FD bundle with ratio of 2:1. For 1:1, the FD promo is 4.5% for 6 mths. They have various mths as well like for 2:1 ratio for 1 mth it is FD 10%. NOTE: with UT purchase !!!

Anyway I think it is still not that good as compared to Citigold's last month 1:1 with FD 3 mths 9.99%.

Just got back from CIMB, here are the promos still available:

4.2% 12 months for Preferred customer - currently finding out if new Preferred customer can get it or not without topping up on top of the initial RM250k
- heard interest credited monthly

Normal customers:
3.9% 6 months
4.1% 12 months
minimum RM10k
*
Last week I placed for the 4.2%, interest on maturity only. Can get monthly ? hmm.gif

My CIMB RM confirmed that only Islamic 12 mth 4.15% gives monthly interest. The 4.2% conventional one, no monthly interest. biggrin.gif

Ah, if know it earlier would not have put into HL 9 mths 4.15% today. cry.gif

Anyway please note it is for CIMB Preferred customer. biggrin.gif

They're very slow & blur, at first told me 4.1% also only for preferred customer, normal can only get 4.05%!

I think I will have to chase them for the answer to my earlier question.

When you applied to be a preferred customer, do you need to give your salary details also? The clerk seems like reading from a script which is not accurate..  mad.gif  mad.gif
Suddenly with this promo, I may swing my funds over there instead, tempting  hmm.gif
*
Why need to show salary ? Last time just show the cheque will do.

For the other bank promo, for company acct only, right ?

CIMB RM told me yesterday the Islamic one is 4.15% but with monthly interest. You have placed the Islamic one at 4.2% with monthly interest ?

I did not personally place the FD but according to the T&C on the website, both Islamic FDs (monthly interest & interest on maturity) are eligible for the 4.2% special rate for Preferred account holders. Maybe you ask your RM to check with HQ or you can confirm with another branch.

I need to confirm with CIMB RM again. I have read the Conventional T & C. But the Islamic one have to clarify. biggrin.gif

Edit:
Confirmed with CIMB RM, the Islamic one 4.2% can get monthly interest. Just came out this week.

Thanks, ya, I got my answer yesterday evening after calling them.

On Bank Muamalat, I just called the hotline, here what needs to be done to open a business account:
1. Submit photocopy of IC
2. Submit company registration form

Apparently need to take about a week to process & then only approve the application.

Once approved, deposit RM1k into the current account but after that it can be taken out.

I will go to the branch, if really need 1 week, I may just go with CIMB.
*
Ya, unless fund also available the same time, may not be worth it waiting for a week. biggrin.gif

CIMB RM said for the Islamic FD with 4.2% and monthly interest need to open Current Account !

This is stated in Clause 2 of the T & C.

But it looks like apply to Conventional one also. I did not take up this one. Maybe 2 weeks later. biggrin.gif

quick question, for the maturity return vs monthly return.

excerpt from the T&C
...  during the Campaign Period in Fixed
Return Income Account-i – Maturity Returns or Fixed Return Income Account-i – Monthly Returns
(hereinafter collectively referred to as (“FRIA-i”):-

if there is monthly return, of course ppl will opt for it rather than yearly maturity return isn't?
was my understanding wrong already? please enlighten.
*
Most people would prefer the monthly interest, I for one.

But some may not. Easier interest calculation at maturity, need to open SA, this one is Islamic some may want to understand more, ................... biggrin.gif

Is FPX from Maybank any different from other banks? I have done multiple FPX within a day, all from Maybank. Even though my transfer limit is RM30k, FPX allows for multiple within the same day. Only IBT or IBG has limit per day.[attachmentid=8720379]
*
It seems that MBB did not set a limit for FPX xfer OUT from there. I did the same from MBB FPX for HL eFD placement last Tuesday. The sky is the limit for MBB FPX xfer in the same day, apparently. biggrin.gif

BTW when it comes  to maturity of this Tuesday special,  what are HLB's max (1) daily limit and (2) transaction limit for online transfer eg fpx,  ibg,  ibft ?
*
CIMB normal customer 12 mth 4.1%, for their Preferred customer, 4.2%.

HL max xfer limits is 50k/day. For me I would have to go to bank to do IBFT to xfer out on maturity ! biggrin.gif

I also intend to open HLB eFD by FPX transfer from MBB. I turn away because I thought the FPX transfer from MBB has a daily limit.

So its confirmed that the FPX transfer from MBB has no limit ya ?
*
Up to last week Tuesday still true. U can do multiple FPX from MBB to HL to place the eFD. Each time max 30k. MBB seems to be the only bank that allowed multiple FPX xfer with no daily limits ( tongue.gif up to what u want to xfer devil.gif ). biggrin.gif

@bbgoat,
Thank you very much for your kind confirmation. Appreciate it very much..smile.gif

Btw, for this HLB eFD placement:
a) How is the interest being paid? Monthly debit into our saving ac?
b) On maturity (9 months later), the principle will debit into our saving ac? Or it will auto renew at board rate?
*
U need to change the word "debit" to "credit".

During placement, there are choice for monthly interest or interest paid on maturity. On maturity, u can choose not to renew if u want. So during placement time, choose carefully the options presented. biggrin.gif

In fact, all my placement I choose monthly interest and no renewal. No renewal is to plan to hunt for next FD promo. thumbup.gif

Thanks for your help.

The option: Islamic FD vs Conventional FD, which to select pls?

Just select Conventional since both has same features for the HL eFD. biggrin.gif
