The link you posted is only valid for those who don't have an existing CASA and opens a new savings account with Alliance Bank ...

If already have savings account then not qualified for 4.2%
*
Ok. But why need to make the distinction? Is savings account acquisition that important? I think not, the amount in savings is small, and can go out any time. hmm.gif

Anyway, thanks for noting the difference. By that, it means that because I closed my savings account last November, I will be eligible for 4.2% now. tongue.gif

Great!

And now Ambank very full of deposits already, after giving good rates to achieve target. Their new promotion rates are not worth considering

Bro

As mentioned there is no monthly interest scheme. What about quarterly or semi-annual interest for 15 month FD?

12 months not standard promo offering. Up to branch if they want to seek HQ approval. It was previously reported that 4.30 % was obtained.

Thanks for updating us rclxms.gif

Are RHB and BIMB interest/profit paid only upon maturity?

I called RHB manager today. She can give me 4.3% for 12 months. Provided it's 1 million bucks! blink.gif

Yes paid upon maturity if 12 months. Now I am stuck 4.25% between two banks. The banks I go to belong to a rather "rich" place, maybe that's why they are not lacked of deposits.
*
Forgot to ask you - the RHB promo of 4.25% is for general depositors, or is it only for Premier Banking customers? TQ

Between RHB and BIMB, other things being equal, RHB should have better systems imo, a much larger network, and is a better capitalised bank.

Apparently the rhb branch manager had to request from HQ. I am not joining premier but amount FD bigger than 200k. No 4.3%, only max 4.25%.

Spoke to RHB just now.

All their FD promo rates will end on 30/4 - 3, 6 & 12 months. Even now the quota is limited.

So folks, if interested, have to do it asap

what is the rate for FD Gold?
*
It's 4.15%.

I called Alliance RM to confirm the rate validity for 2/5. She said not sure if still valid in May. So far no communication to the contrary.

The Banks are closing the doors rapidly one by one shocking.gif

Yes extra 1 day interest, total number of days is 365+1
That should not be the reason, interest is calculated until that maturity date 27.4.24 on Saturday ,
is the total number of total 365 +1
if maturity can only withdraw on Monday, may even lose 2 days interest
The  cert showed from 27.4.23 to 27.4.24, total duration 366 days
same 4.3% interest  should apply to all that period.

MBSB smart ass take out that extra 1 day not paying full 4.3%.
by right  that extra 1 day should also earn 4.3% =RM5.89
not  RM4.01

Mine 16 months 20.4.23 to 20.8.24 total 488days,
also short changed by MBSB RM34.39

applying your method extra 1 day at 2.8% seemed incorrect in my case.
God knows how MBSB calculated..

Next Tuesday might be placing with MBSB. Need to check maturity date not on weekend? hmm.gif

15 mths ~ 4.35%

Min. 10k

Went to MBSB today to check if the above rates still valid on 2/5 (yes, they are). Saja asked whether got 18 month promo rate, not expecting anything. The manager said no promo rate for 18 months, but she could ask HQ what special rate they can approve, based on my anticipated placement amount. Also asked her to seek approval for monthly profit payment (Note: the 3 to 15 month promo rates pay profit only at maturity). I showed her our LYF member's recent FD for 16 months @ 4.40% (Thanks Guy3288 for sharing the info smile.gif )

15 minutes later, HQ approved 4.40% for 18 months, with monthly profit payment thumbsup.gif

** But on condition that the savings account needs to be funded and the FD placement made by 2/5, in view of BNM policy decision on 3/5 **

Anyone keen to do placement for 18 months can enquire with your local MBSB branch. Basically need to kowtim everything on 2/5 itself.
