What is the different between M2U apps and the new "MAE" app?
*
god knows, i hv decided to close my MBB accounts and cards having experienced the following recently:

- missing funds when placing FD by FPX
- my internet banking being blocked forcing me to go to the branch to start everything again
- My credit card transactions not being linked and shown in MAE
- being charged $8 for the issue of a new debit card

Anyone placed PBB efd FPX from MBB have FPX limit issue?

I have updated my MBB FPX daily limit to RM50K before I placed PBB efd.
My first attempt RM30K is fine.
Second attempt RM20K is giving me error message saying exceeded RM50K limit.

Looks like FD fpx transactions with MBB got many issues.

1. Open new FD in MBB from other banks high chance money goes missing
2. Open new FD in other bank from MBB transaction not honoured. Luckily money still in MBB so not as bad as 1 above.

Brother my advice is avoid tiger like the plague. They have some IT issues with their internet banking system. I have decided to close all my MBB accounts and cards once my FD in MBB matures. Not worth the hastle.

I suggest not to try anymore. I made a placement and it did not show up. I called up the maybank CS and they said there was no record. They will need to make a report now.

fpx issues usually auto-resolved within 7 days.

FPX itself is just a fund routing processor between banks. if either party has issue, there is a refund process that kicks in. however, downside is that it need few days to resolve, which is not favorable for FD placements  laugh.gif

FPX is currently in progress of sunsetting by end of 2023 (originally end-2022 but resisted by few banks (aka they are pissed at paynet lololol)). DuitNow OBW (online banking/wallet) will supersede FPX (functionality is the same as FPX anyway, but routing thru DuitNow ecosystem)

next to sunset is JOMpay. same fate because DuitNow will replace it.

I have the impression that FPX issues with online FDs seem to happen with MBB. I have no bad experience with other banks. Why them?

This bank (MBB) has been so tidak apa that its losing faith and trust from a growing section of the public. As for me I hv shifted my online FPX transactions to HL and trsf $ away from MBB to minimum. Cannot ignore tiger 100% as it has most branches and ATMs but strategy is to avoid as much as possible.

I also did the MBB 7mth @ 4% Islamic FD today with fund FPX transferred from CIMB.
Weird tho the money ws deducted from CIMB but have yet to show in MBB FD even after an hour. Is this normal?
I noticed once i completed the transaction in CIMB Clicks successfully and when backed in M2U screen, it showed an error message saying something the transaction is not successful. What could have gone wrong?
*
Transaction unsuccessful, get in touch with MCS to expedite refund into yr CIMB a/c. That's why I keep telling people to avoid MBB FD thru FPX. Happened to me few times avoid them like covid but still people don't believe

In my experience the only recent period of time when UOB paid market rates for its FDs was during takeover of Citibank when possibly it needed more cashflow.

You are in negative interest position (4-4.25%) so should aim to reduce the 4.25% liability rather than increase the 4% asset

I suggest you look at the interbank rate 3mth KLIBOR, this has been increasing as banks borrow from other banks instead of resorting to the FD market. I believe it is a result of govt policy not to burden poor borrowers which will happen when they raise the OPR so the KLIBOR is being used more.

The table which shows the OPR of various countries - all I want to say is high OPR does not mean high FD rates. Th e author should also provide a column to show the average FD rates.

Did you ever see an honest person making $ in business?
Honest people are more likely to be found in places of worship certainly not in a bank!

While our FD rates are weakening the 3 month interbank rates are increasing, steadily moving up at the beginning of Sep from 3.52% to 3.57% today. What are the banks borrowing for? Is it related to the weakness of the RM?

Anyone seen the latest UOB promo for the so called wealth and privileged customers? They don't seem to understand that making things so complicating is a major turn-off

I am looking for more banks now. Their normal rates usually suck, but if talk to their managers, usually can get better rate, i have 4.2%+- rate recently, most of the time i just want to be simple instead of moving the money around diff banks.

No issue with their normal rate FD system until around 2-3 months ago (issue came out since the time they showed the actual rate before we place the FD), i wonder what are them doing, how can a bank allows such issues to be remained there for so many months. Tried a few times yesterday, and today when wanted to try again, gave me the same error message, this really triggered me.

I have reduced my activities in MBB to just paying some bills and cash withdrawals as they have most no. of atms. Limit your exposure with them as they are worse than public services and frankly couldn't be bothered

Interbank liquidity has tightened due to BNM actions. This is reflected in the 3m KLIBOR rising from 3.5% in August to 3.63% now so FD rates should be showing improvement
