30mbps upload compare with 10Mbps upload only provided by unifi
*
Same price TM 30Mbps will be upgraded to 50Mbps with 20Mbps upload speed but maxis will not. Not to mention TM has no hypptv. Maxis has no announcement on the free upgrade.

30Mbps upload speed is good, but only good for the content creator such as those who always upload to YouTube etc. in most cases, home users hardly upload but download speed is what most ppl use.

So yes, it is given but if one cannot fully utilize it, it is nothing more than chicken ribs actually,

Does anyone knows how much hyyptv box cost now?  I think mine out of warranty already. TQ
*
Rm318 for the box, but only TM can change it for u. So u cannot really a official brand new box from outside or even TM point. And rm53 is needed to pay for the on site installation.

but most streamyx users is due to UniFi not available... if have UniFi, those 4m/8m streamyx users wont suffer to pay RM140++ lol
*
in budget 2017, TM had already mentioned that NOT all current streamyx will be offered for new package in 2017.
obviously the "selected" are "likely" not the streamyx users who do not have coverage for unifi.

my apps store back to normal using tm unifi... how about u guys?
*
yes, back to normal already by itself. I never reboot my BTU, no reset of port at TM, or reboot of my wifi router.

as i am certain it is TM side issue.

QUOTE(aneip @ Jan 13 2017, 08:12 AM)
So mess up.. Just upgrade speed to the same price.  Or downgrade the price if people don't want to uograde. Now same price multiple speed, later more mess up.
*
yes, price should be standardized.

Is it just me or is anyone else is having this problem as well? I haven't be able to get more than 23Mbps since yesterday. I've restarted both the BTU and the router and I still cant get at least 28Mbps. These tests are done via LAN btw. Should I ask TM to reset my port?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

This 3rd test is after restarting the btu and router
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*

you test via LAN port is correct. but u need to be 100% certain that no other devices are connected to wifi or even other LAN port at the same time to get the accurate result. best to turn off your wifi at the wireless router to enable no wireless client is connected.

if u have done and the test remains the same. yes, you should log case with TM to identify the issue on this already.
in general most ppl here get min 28Mbps and above bandwidth here. 24Mbps is the minimum that one should get for 30Mbps base on TM's 80% best effort claim so ur bandwidth is certainly below this.

Oh well, Google Play has no issue but sometimes last year, there was once Google Play was affected as well though not as common as Apps Store. laugh.gif
laugh.gif Of course it is TM's issue, else? I already said many times, Apps Store issue will happen once a while and it is UniFi routing problem. Used to it already.
*
haha. yes, it is certainly TM's issue for the App Store. thumbup.gif

yes, this is no first time i heard about this issue also on App Store.

Is it not just simply putting in username & password ?  that was last time I remember
*
yes, u just need to enter username and password to the hypptv box, but prob is TM does not allow u to just buy the device off the shelf and do it on ur own.

like i said, u cannot even just pay and get it at TM point, but u can only log the issue with TM and they will send technician down then u only buy the device from them. and rm53 is charged because the technician is coming down to ur house.

Even the 100Mbps get free speed upgrade to 200Mbps or 500Mbps. The rm329 price tag may still be too expensive to most. And most may not be able to tap on the full bandwidth of such speed for most of the daily tasks they do, unless they are super heavy downloaded.

Can you fully utilize 500mbps for home users daily? Think if are download freak for more than 100gb a day than is worth it.
*
for normal home users, certainly not. in fact for a speed of 500Mbps, 100GB can downloaded finished within slightly over one hour. not even a day.

I am wondering home users with 500Mbps what do they do? Ppl say 500Mbps is never overkilled but can u fully utilized it. Im using 30Mbps also cannot fully utilized it everday.

Unifi have to make the price for future 200-500Mbps cheap if they want ppl to subscribe it.
*
for most home users, I think they will not be willing to pay price of rm329 for high end plan even it is for a speed of 500Mbps. For the recent speed free upgrade campaign, the price of rm179 for 50Mbps and rm229 for 100Mbps make more sense.

However, to most they would rather pay for rm80+ or below for a 2Mbps speed. most bolehland ppl cares more about the price than quality etc.

QUOTE(cucubud @ Jan 16 2017, 07:24 AM)
Did you fill up the termination form for Streamyx?
There is no auto termination of the Streamyx when you subscribe to Unifi.
Go back to TM Point to complain and show them the termination form.
If you are paying RM149 for the VIP5, then wait for it. Be patience.
Yes. Not smooth last night.
*
There is auto termination of streamyx for sure, if u sign up online and u did inform the staff when they call u for the confirmation of application. Streamyx will auto terminate after the unifi activated.

Two of my recent activated unifi lines via online application terminate within 1-2 days after my unifi installed.

Is it normal if u go tm point to check for 100mbps available or not and they said they are not sure and must place order for 100mbps only the technical team will go check.
*
Yes. If u go tm point. they need to ask technician to check.

that time I went to tm point to upgrade to 50Mbps because I want the free speed upgrade to 100Mbps at night.

the lady said the technician must check the technical availability before the upgrade will be proceeded.
that's why the next day I went to TM point, I told the lady I want to cancel my request for the upgrade, she said no problem as she has yet to put up the request since the technician has yet to check but confirm the check does not take so long like months, but instead it just takes a day or so.

Seems like they changed their SOP already, i remember on the 1st day the unifi pro launch, i called 100 to upgrade from 50Mbps to 100Mbps, few days later the Techinian came to change new BTU and router, after the configuration the Technician call to TM HQ to activate my 100Mbps line, few minutes later successfully change to 100Mbps.
*
I think the new equipment given by TM to all new customers should be able to support 100Mbps or higher speed. So the equipment change should not be necessary for newer customers. earlier years maybe the high end equipment is more ex, but given that Tm has been giving 1200ac equipment it should be more than sufficient for the needs. At most the tm just need to do something at the backend to upgrade the customer speed.

this is why it is still good to use the copper telephone line as main line. thumbsup.gif
especially the line is linked to alarm system for house.

To the router.

Assuming it's a normal TV / Android box, not the HyppTV box which needs to run over VLAN
*
Hypptv is also connects to the wifi router itself also. Just the port it connects to must be on VLAN 600. No device is connected to the fibre ONT except the telephone for VoIP and the wifi router itself for Internet connection.
