Hate to be the guy.. but damn I think too many BF kits this time around. Hoping for new HGs or maybe some MGs for the later half of the year but ntg til ZZ. Also ZZ in Sept? So either Bandai breaking tradition or they still got something hidden for Dec?

I see these gunpla looks really nice... especially those with extra touchup/details...

Problem is I cant paint for nuts.. I tried doing dioramas last time on WW2 stuff and failed badly... thats why I collect finished/painted figures these days...

Wondering if gunplan MUST touchup then only look decent? Are there any kits that doesnt look "plastic" out of the box?

If you remember, MG Sinanju Stein ver Ka released on February 2013 MG Hi Nu ver Ka on August 2014 and MG FA Gundam Thunderbolt ver Ka on July 2016. No tradition that ver Ka must release on December.

Gotta agree this year MG release is too damn low.
Exclude P-Bandai, we only got MG GM Sniper II, Providence, Justice and ZZ ver Ka this year. Thats only 4.

4 MGs per year?

But I think usually every year Bandai saves 1 big kit or cool kit for holidays, like FA Gundam TB is July but Psycho Zaku in Dec, 2013 Hi Nu Feb but big kit is Sazabi Dec, and so on. 4 MG I think is decent amount if they are different builds, and maybe spread out over the year. MG Sniper is sort of a 2.0 kit, but I still count it as new, but justice and providence is using Freedom 2.0 frame. Then ZZ I'm not really interested so far...

But mostly I just wish not all kits were BF, they are very nice, and I will prob buy a few, but I just wish had more variety.

the 4104 yen price includes the 8% tax Japanese have to pay.

I thought the mega size gundam are mostly easy build and still cheap (relatively). I dont think it will have Led but at that size, one can easily fit a set.

But they made MG V2 Gundam ver Ka on December 2015. That is small kit and plain unlike his variation V2 Assault Buster. No signature whether the kit is bigger or cooler, if they feel like to release it.

Well yes, V2 isn't big in size but a "big" kit drawing people cz of the transformation gimmick. Point is, if ZZ is Sept, maybe there's still something in Dec, as Bandai always have saves 1 MG for Dec.

no use speculation, yes, there are still months where Bandai have not yet announced what will the release be. The rules that most of us know, each month, bandai proves us wrong. So yeah, just wait and enjoy the most what Bandai wants to offer to us.

Urgh, how the transformation gimmick is 'big' by your definition? MG V2 was long overdue to release since he won poll top 3 MG wishlist back in 2011. Not sure it bring back the hype he gain during that time..

Yes, might be another MG ver Ka like they did last year but since we dont get any news from Shizouka Hobby Show yet, it will be no MG this December.

MG ZZ ver Ka was revealed late last year and it took months to see the uncolored prototype. Last year MG Psycho Zaku ver Ka was revealed on Shizouka Hobby Show but no prototype yet just the tag name. If no MG ver Ka in this Shizuoka Hobby Show, most likely replaced by something else. Heck if in late October or November we got news about new MG ver Ka, it will push the release to next year.

It is made by Hasegawa so the details are nice but it is not snap-fit and need to paint like typical 1/72 planes made by them.
Most people build this kits said usually Hasegawa have more small part counts than Bandai.

I see, thanks for the picture, seems like a hassle since cement is involved,
not familiar with cement involving kit, which should do first, painting or assembling?
I can safely said that color separation is made by decal like Bandai ?

wow 1/48 unicorn, last megasize was what year? age-1 or age-2? hahaha

For Hasegawa kit or any traditional model. You usually assemble and paint at the same time. (Example of this is you need to detail the cockpit before you close the fuselage and mask the canopy).

Dry fitting is usual for new modeller not used to it but veteran modeller can plan ahead and do it.

Color separation is done via decals but one may opt to do masking.

It is very different with Gundam kits but it is overall a nice experience
