The dividend is declared as fully franked dividend. So the amount is net already

http://dividends.com.au/dividend-history/?enter_code=BOQ

If you look at the details,

Net dividend = $0.38
Franking credit = $0.16286
Gross dividend = $0.54286

So, as a non-tax resident, you cannot claim the franking credit of $0.16286

Based on the closing price of $10.08, the dividend yield net of tax is still 7.5%. Very good !

Yup bro,... my one-month queue has been clicked already,.... Actually,.. I'm not too happy too, this only means that another floor for BOQ has been broken in TA.

Then the question comes again : what's the next floor ?

Well,... anything can happen to the Aussie banks today,... I got a bit startled when you told me BOQ has the worst result,.. I was a bit anxious because :-

1) I have not heard of any 'bad' investigation revelations coming out abt BOQ, till today,...
2) BOQ is NOT in the direct radar of the Royal Comm because it is not one of the four major banks.
3) BOQ's yield is the best among the four regional banks (last I checked), hence, its yield should underpin its performance.

But,.. well,... some other companies are also investigated by the RCI too,... namely AMP, and I think MOC too,... not too sure, but I know MOC is now doing restructuring of its reimbursement scheme for its franchisees.

I estimate by now,... the worst performing among the big 4 would be CBA. That day, it had to pay an AUD700M penalty to AUSTRAC,....

I HAVE YET TO HEAR OF ANY ISSUES COMING OUT FROM NAB ! nod.gif

Another issue form the Big 4,... this time from Westpac Bank,...

Westpac Charged for Wealth Flaws
Monday, 18 June 2018 08:02

The Australian financial regulator launched legal proceedings against Westpac Bank over alleged poor advice given by a sacked financial planner.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) move could see the Sydney-based bank hit with multi-million dollar fines. At the heart of the regulators action is alleged poor financial advice provided by one of Westpac’s former financial planners Sudhir Sinha, ASIC said in a media statement.

Sinha was punished with a five-year ban last year for charging fees without providing all the advice customers had paid for. He systematically failed to meet his ongoing advice service obligations over a period of six years while he was employed by Westpac.

Fees Without Service

The financial planner failed to conduct ongoing reviews for at least nine clients. The clients had paid for ongoing advice services and were entitled to receive these reviews. In all 177 clients were charged fees but did not receive service by the former Westpac adviser.

ASIC alleged Sinha had provided inappropriate advice and failed to prioritise the interests of his clients. As Westpac held the financial services licence used by Sinha, the regulator claims the bank was liable for the alleged breaches of the best interests duty, which carry a maximum penalty of $1 million per breach.

-----------------------------------------------

Hence, from memory,... the foll banks and Financial Institutions have 'kena' already from the Royal Comm investigations....

1) AMP
2 Macquarie
3) CBA
4) ANZ
5) And yesterday,... WBC.

Out of the Big Four, only NAB has not been 'named' yet,....

This morning,.....

YOUR PHILLIP SUMMARY

U.S. stocks plummeted Wednesday, with the Nasdaq falling the most since 2011. Treasuries rallied for a second day on demand for haven assets. The S&P extended its October rout to 8.8 percent, making it the worst month since February 2009. The Dow tumbled 600 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index lapsed into a correction.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note fell to 3.117 percent, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was lower at 3.336 percent. Worries about a slowing economy under pressure from rising interest rates grew after the Commerce Department said new home sales fell to a two-year low. The data also hit homebuilder stocks.
